This was my first computer in 1985. My dad said that he bought it at a garage sale for $50, but I think that was a lie so that my mom wouldn't be mad about spending money. The original price was $999 for the 16k version. This would be $3000 today because of inflation.

Lucky you ! My Quasar VH5020-RW, basicaly a rebadged PV-1200, i have worn belts, has rolling static going from bottom to top fast, and the Tracking has no effect whatsoever. Reccaped the servo entirely and going on the picture processing board, i am currently scoping according to the service manual to see what's out of spec. I did replace change the capstant motor IC, but no change. The pot and wires is good. Scope a sawtooth waveform within proper spec. Haven't touched any trimpots before fixing this as to not mess any calibration. Well done, cheers from Montreal !

Your video reminded me of our lights and me and my Dad putting them up. My parents are long gone and I am too old for the ladder. The string of lights got brittle and the plastic coating cracked and I had to let them go. YES the colors were very dazzeling and they did use a lot of energy but like you I hate those LED lights. They did get a little better with the LED but I tend not to use them. I put clear bulbs in my Candles in the windows and I have a lot of windows and I get so many compliments of how they look so warm. I still use the old clear filament bulbs and they give the house that old time christmas look and feel. I tried a few LED but the clear look just look gostly and not warm. I still have a slew of vintage decorations but I really only put a few out anymore. Tough to get them up the stairs. I still remember our Old waffle machine and our Kirby sweeper and our old sunbeam mixer - sadly all gone. I had Bubble lights but they were at the end of their life and burned out. I have a few that I put in the night lights at Christmas. Nice video wish I would have seen it at Christmas, Didn't have a snowman outside just 2 Carolers, I still have 1 the other bit the dust. Thanks for the Memories and keep on with your VINTAGE Christman.

That Maytag dryer in the advertisement looks to be a Maytag 67C or DE/DG300. The Highlander was Maytag’s entry level machines which debuted in 1958 and were made up until 1965. 1966 is when the New Generation/06 series debuted which were made up until 1980. The Maytag Halo Of Heat dryers were made all the way up until 1975, 1976 is when the Stream Of Heat dryers debuted which were made all the way up until 2006. While Maytag’s were more expensive than Sears or Whirlpool machines, they would literally just run and run forever. Seen at least 80 Maytag center dial machines pop up for sale in the Southern California area which is a testament to Maytag’s quality and reliability.

These were probably used by the coal miners since there’s lots of coal mines out on the east coast and north eastern US. Might explain why they are all gummed up from soot. Never a problem out here since coal mines and power plants are pretty much nonexistent in the west.

Judging by the color, I think this might be from 1963 or 1964. By the time 1966 came around, Sears and Whirlpool were no longer offing pink appliances that I am aware of, though turquoise was offered until as late as 1967. 1966 is the first year that avocado was being offered, along with harvest gold.
