Lol good idea ❤ discusnorth.fishfx.com/
Whatever or however you’re doing it, looks amazing.
Thank-you
👍🏻😎Incredible fish and water. Is he using Purigen? I use it and it's excellent.
I think so, but I can;t remeber if it was this guy, or the dude I am doing in the next episode that told me he uses Purigen. But this guy says he is going to make us a video soon about his tricks of the trade. I am looking forward to it.
@@DiscusNT Purigen is excellent at removing organic waste from the water column.
Love love love these shorts
Happy you enjoy the videos ❤
There’s a german youtuber who claims one should keep discus at 75-77 degrees and absolutely no UV, among other outrageous claims. Same guy also blames breeders that discus are not as “good” as they were in the 80s and that’s why they die. One of your recent videos when you talked to an AI really opened my eyes. The question was raised: “Have you seen his tanks?” No I haven’t. He’s just sitting in front of the camera talking nonsense. You on the other hand SHOW THE TANK. I can see your method work. Please keep up this amazing educating work! Thank you again for sharing your tank with us!
It makes me happy to help people better learn to enjoy these beautiful fish. Thank-you for the encouragement.❤
UV….it’s really not a new concept. The reefers have been using it for decades. Want to know why ? To protect their investments onexpensive fish. Well discus can be $200-500 dollars per fish. Reason enough to put a UV in. I run an aqua 25w 24/7. It truly is amazing how clear the water turns. Next level really
Agreed 💯. It's also become so cheap, it's a why not at this point.
What type of light setup, if you don’t mind me asking?
I am using this 2 x hygger 24/7 Mode Submersible Aquarium LED Light, Full Spectrum Hidden Fish Tank Light with 3 Rows Beads 7 Colors Auto On Off Sunrise-Daylight-Moonlight, Adjustable Timer Brightness (12in 8W) www.amazon.ca/dp/B09CL7Q9CH?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 THe 24 hour mode is awsome, runrise starts from zero light and slowly increases causing zero stress, sundown works the same way. Cheap too !
Your discus are stunning. How long have you been keeping discus for?
I came back to the hobby 2 years ago this coming April. I grew up in a pet shop as a child. Pets have always been a big part of my life.
OK nice. Thank you for sharing these beautiful fish with all of us.
I wonder if swamp tankers favorite band is Puddle of Mud? 😂
No doubt lol ❤
hi fishy’s. looking good.
Hows the house coming along ?
If you want to keep plants- Swamp it. If you want to keep fish- pay attention.
Lol the swammpers 😂 if one has taught me all these years clean water is key to healthy aquariums 😮
It's time we old schoolers who know better, encourage others to drain the swamps...👍😄
Love all the fishies!!
Zjawiskowo 😊😊 pozdrawiam serdecznie 😁👍
Great info. I don’t quarantine my new 2” discus since they come from the same reliable local source. And i NEVER EVER put the bag water in my tank when putting the new fish in. I agree that keeping them in a small tank and no other discus can stress them out which drops their immune system. I run the “Fluval FX UVC In-line” and thanks to you I learned they do a lot more than just prevent algae bloom. I have a UV running on all my tanks now. So thank you for that. I have a skiddish panda discus I once quarantined and medicated for over a month thinking he might have something. I think he was just bullied and noticed more when I put him back I the big tank. He’s getting more confident just a light and picky eater compared to the others. In the future I won’t move one out so fast because stressing will do even more harm. Regardless it’s a good learning experience.
My new blue female is having similar confidence issues. The stress brings down appetite. That goes on too long, you get a sick fish. She's gaining confidence by the day, being with the others is helping her gain confidence faster. Mood matters with these fish. Good job being observant.
There is something to be said about running a uv sterilizer in large tanks with higher end species .
Eddie (Van Halen) because he rocks
Your fish are beautiful - ❤
Thanks 😊👍
Just amazing tank …. Your doing a great job my brother !!!
Thank-you Sir 😀
They definitely go overboard with that topic, for real.
💯❤
Crushed Coral will help balance the pH levels from spiking
The white fella might be my new favorite 🤩 I didn’t have anything of substance to add to the conversation, but need to feed the algorithm to spread your videos!
Fair enough! 😂
Great topic. Always fantastic insight. I always assumed we quarantine in smaller tanks in case we had to medicate, save money. I’ve never had to, just was always my assumption.
Great point!
I love the discus but they just cost too much for me. But I am going to send you an email I have questions about this RV Block filter setup you talked about.
Yes very expensive. But I love it all the same .
How bout October
looking good
Thanks 👍
O prosze inna perspektywa 😊
I‘ve had a bacteria kill fish after fish (not discus) for 2 years straight. I have never seen anything like that before. It never stopped in that aquarium. Eventually I gave up and broke it down. (There‘s videos of it on my channel actually)
I feel like this things in the video that you said are going to be taken out of context by some people. The main thing that causes problems of any kind with a fish is stress. Stressed fish=weak immune system= health problems. Just as You said, puting a social fish alone in a cube with water wont help it.
You articulated my message very well. With some fish, it can cause more harm than good❤.
I can't believe someone is actually saying this. I agree 100%
One of those topics that people are afraid to discuss.
The quarantine was successful 👍🏼👍🏼 the fish is dead 😂
Lol😂
Wry cool intro. Love these videos
Glad you enjoy it!
I concur with others on the beauty of your aquariums. May I ask what are you feeding your Blood Parrot cichlids? Thanks in advance.
NorthFin foods to the blood Parrots.
Just set up the 40 gallon breeder not sure what i want to put in it yet but no swamp tank 😊deciding on rainbow fish or predatory tank or ?
Crab tank ?. I been thinking of a crab tank. Could be fun to watch.
@ want a baby peacock azule but would know the upgrade of tank would be fast for the growth rate
Your tank is beautifuly decorated and stocked with some very gorgeous fish ❤
little guy looks like he’s grown since you got him. Who is the oldest in the Discus tank?
Big Red, or the new Big Blue girl, one of the two. Eldest fish are 18 to 20 months.
@@DiscusNT I figured it was Big Red. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Indeed, little dude eats everything, he is gonna grow so fast it will be funny.
Thanks for sharing your tank with us
My pleasure!!
what type of eel thanks
Ir's called a.. Half Banded Spiney Eel.
Fantastic looking tank and fish.
