Do you have any birth information about Albizu's other siblings such as Francisco and Isabel? Also, we hear of a child named "Pedro" supposedly an older brother of Albizu, who died young. Natalia Abraham was sister of my ggfather named named Martin Abraham. Their last name was Abrams. They both where slaves belonged to the family Abrams. After slavery emancipation. They changed their last name to Abraham. I found that the surname came to Puerto Rico from the St Kitts and Barbados. From St. Kitts according to spanish travel records, arrived to Ponce PR, Jorge Abrams and seems he moved Quebradillas Abrams homestead where my ggfather lived. Asuncion, Natalia and Martin mother lived there with them with other Abrams slaves. Martin died in Ponce Puerto Rico and my ggmother Micaela Ramos. My grandfather who I knew with the name of Marcos al died in Ponce. In my research I found that 2 brothers emigrated fro philadelphia to PR and stablished here. Both of them travelled the caribbean. I was able to locate a St Croix resident named Oliver Abraham who claimed me that he is family of the Abraham of Ponce Pr. H have not been able to confirm that. I do know that Oliver was born in Cuba and later he moved to Barbados and stayed in St Croix. I have been unable to get more information.

Dairen, do you have an email? I can email you a link to a book I finally found in my archives. It was written by Rafael Nieto y Cortadellas, titled "Los Descendientes de Cristobal Colon." I did my research and found that my 10th great-grandmother was Maria de la Cueva y Colón, married Carlos Luna Ramírez de Arellano, who had Diego Geronimo Luna Ramirez de Arellano, born in Spain and moved to Villa de San German, Puerto Rico.

Very interesting and with evidence. I was more focus in the video with sufix De followed by the Last Name. Since Last Name wasn't common at the time, that suffix "De" probably referred were they from in Spain.

This is a great video! I recently found that I descend from Benicio del Toro's great grandfather Rafael Rivera Esbri, and I've also been researching his family. If you're interested, I found some documents on the families of Juan Martinez Garrido and Jose Robert Martinez (I'm also hoping to find some information on the Esbri family as well from Menorca). I'd be happy to share them with you.

I share with him the following surnames: Irizarry, Mercado, Ramirez, Torres, Segarra, Ortiz, Montalvo. My surnames originally from San German, Cabo Rojo and Yauco (Guayanilla area)

Christopher Columbus is my 13 great grandfather, Soy decendiente de Juan Colon en Coamo Puerto Rico

From the information you showed in this video, there is a possibility that I could be a descendant of Christopher Columbus from my mother's side, her father who was born in Arecibo, and his mother in Isabela, although they probably all originated from Arecibo. My great grandmother's surname was Lopez, but I was surprised to discover the name Guzman appearing in the family tree of Colon, which was also one of my mother's surnames, although not sure yet where it came from yet. My brother did a DNA test in Ancestry, which led him to find the names of many distant cousins in USA, one in particular has the surname Colon and lives in Arecibo.

Thought Limpieza de sangre was legally turning a black to white. Cleansing of blood.

Any genealogy from Rincon? lots " books" are not available for this area. I think the church has not released them or they were destroyed by natural disasters. I'm looking for info of that area for 1700's 1800's . Also looking for any historical books for the area if you know of any. Or if you know of any historians of the area.

I think he was probably a Cuban living in Venezuela because Mariah mentioned once in an interview that she visited her Venezuelan family in a small town of the state Zulia in Venezuela.

Hi Dairen, I just found your geneaology channel today and subscribed. Your video about the descendency of Cristobal Colon is quite interesting. My family comes from the Dominican Republic and doing geneaology I found one of my 4th great-grandparents was Martin Colon. Unfortunately, we do not have enough documents in the DR to prove if we descend from Cristobal Colon. I also would like to mention if there are also Colon lines in the Caribbean that do not descend from him but from maybe his slaves with the same name. Have you found something about this?

I have been doing some research on Ancestry and online since finding Family search tree in OCTOBER 2023 that went all the way to Cristóbal Colón as my 15th great-grandfather. Thanks for the video, may actually dare to share with my extended family now.

Those were different times and we can not take our 21st century mentality and judge folks in the 15th century. Of course! I am one through my Portuguese roots! He was my 13th great-grandfather, married to my 13th great-grandmother, Filipa Moniz de Perestrello of Porto Santo, Madeira, Portugal. One of his descendants, Maria Juana Colón Toledo de La Cueva married Luis de La Cueva Y Toledo who's daughter had a son named Diego Geronimo Luna Ramirez de Arellano who migrated to and died in 1671, in La Villa de San German, Puerto Rico. Many of Diego's descendants live in San German and Cabo Rojo. Where did you get the document you showed in this video? Thanks for the information.

Hey, Great video as always, i have a question about a genealogy thing. My 9th great grandfather is Blas Lopez de Alicea son of Juan Lopez de Alicea and Maria Ramos Colon or Maria Cintron Ramos from the families of the first populators of Coamo. Do you think that Maria Colon Ramos is also a descendent of Cristobal Colon family or IS she a descendent of that family?

My Fam is from Coamo never met them hopefully one day.
