2 years ago I discovered maidcore through you... I was fascinated by this underrated genre, a year later I made a presentation about little-known musical genres, including maidcore:-) Futility remains my favorite song of this genre, "im cool" its so good to I really liked that this has been in my recommendations, I really needed a genre that was mostly composed of instrumentals! thanks for posting this

@@-zhdltl-theoneandonly In general, I'd say. Of course, not every song here is very source-like but some of them have that early 2000s rock, amateurish vibe to them which I assosiate with HL mods. Maybe it's just me and you don't feel the same way.

@@-zhdltl-theoneandonly Yeah, EYE is pretty good. The first thing that comes to my mind would be Underhell. I mean, the story, characters, gameplay. It's really hard to beat. There are some newer mods that are also pretty well done such as Voices of the Void.

Maidcore has this strange role in the creative sphere as music that's too intrusive to accomplish, say, writing effectively, but freely provokes imagination and planning, at least for me. I'd say it's simply because of how thoroughly devoid of any bias or priorly assigned emotions it has, going from melancholic to badass from one moment to the next. You expect one thing from a Maidcore song, and one thing alone: it's going to be a bop. The guitars and Russian lyrics are merely tradition at this point.
