Looks like a haas. I have a vf4ss and tried stainless with a high feed mill like above and it was so loud and also sounded like I was causing more wear on machine tool than tool or workpiece.in short I’m impressed

      train not fire.

Because of the toolpath, I assume he was thinking. It could've been just linear movements.

@ you mean conventional pocketing instead of high speed toolpaths?

I mean just go from X- to X+ then do step on Y and back to X- step on Y, repeat. Seems a lot of wasteful movements. Not sure where you got pocketing from. It's just face milling.

Please show the finished part . That is the reason for this show . We all know you can make chips in mass qualities .

When you mill the top you know that cutter won't hit anything. Retract 0.1mm more than maximum tolerance and you are not going to scratch the top. If you do, you know that part must be inspected in that place. Otherwise, by the end of the year, you waste travel around the planet. I have saved a lot of time for the company this way.

Hi. Nice video. What RPM? I can suggest you use inserts for aluminum. They are razor-sharp and you can take massive cuts with something like 63mm face mill and get a good finish and cover more area. You can speed up the manufacturing process and save money for the company and customers. In this case, first pass on a slot is pointless and tricordial milling is not efficient as half the time is spent cutting and the other half is just air travel. Try to rough out the centre as quick as possible with deep linear cuts so that spindle load reaching up to 80-90% and leave 1-2mm for profile and bottom finishing pass.
