thanks janelle!
Such a neat event. I had so much fun!
There is nothing new about making rubbings, so why call it "frottage" when addressing an English-speaking audience? It's like calling painting outdoors, "plein aire" and calling inkjet prints, "giclee's", two phony made up French words. This is mainly just art snobbery. However in the case of "giclee", it is used to defraud into paying a higher price for inkjet prints. Also, Yupo is not paper. It is a polyester film.
+1 but I take offense at throwing brand names around "cuz America". These tools have names, and you hopefully chose the tubes of paint by their content, so teach how to read spec and what to look for. Then everyone can choose - and experiment, as well.

Basically this technique allows you to do one print only could you do more ?
Thanks for explaining nicely without extra talking and fluff. Well done.
My heart is bleeding for the Forte paper. Nicest paper I've ever used.
Thanks for the video! Can you use watercolor instead of ink I wonder?
Great demonstration! Thank you for your time and talent❤
Is the slab itself also plexiglass?
Thanks. I would also have liked to see if negative would have printed up. Perhaps it needed a press for best result.
Yes, that was my immediate thought too! I think it still had enough oomph left in the ink to register a ghost print at least. 😁
Thank you for this tutorial - very enjoyable. \i love doing small monoprints.
That is amazing. I will try that. Thank you
Thank you, that was so useful!
That was fabulous thanks.
How would you register the drawing if you have to take it off the plate, re-wash the plate and then add another colour onto the plate
you mark the paper where the edges of the plate meet the paper, so you place it the same each time. a cross hair is best to line it up in the same spot. it is then possible to make a registration plate that you hinge tape to this base. you cut a window from it the size and shape of your paper and when you are about to print you can use it to line things up through the window. it has been sometime since I've done this and I may have this a little wrong but that should point you in the right direction!
Love your work and understand what you are expressing...Thank you for Being...
Love your work...
Could someone help me understand how this compares to just direct drawing with ink/ paint, with different tools? I don't get the point? Why would I want to do this instead of direct drawing/ painting? What is the purpose that I would go to all this trouble, putting ink all over the place--- 2 plates, on brayer, with something I do not see gives any different results than direct drawing/ painting? So I guess my main question is what is the best application of printing methods like this? & purpose? Thanks! Thanks for the video.
Monotypes are a great way to make art, and an entryway to print making. Learning how to roll ink, think in positive-negative terms, and they can be FUN! Gel plates are another way to make monotypes, and if the prospect of tracing seems unrewarding, look up Andy Warhol’s trace monotypes. I’d love to have one of those!
Wonderful to see how paper stitching is done and I was intrigued that you printed one of the stitched drawings too. very inspiring. thanks so much!
Lovely interesting video 👍
Thanks for this!
Thanks that was fun to watch!
Love it!
Love it I already tried that method but the way you work is definitely better thanks

Thanks for sharing this..
Hi, can I use acrylic paint instead ?
Probably not with this method, but you can make rudimentary relief prints with acrylic paint. ADD MEDIUM AND DONT USE THE GOOD PAPER FIRST.
Thanks so much!
Get to the point already
Thankyou for teaching! such a calm and clear way of explaining printmaking
Great instructional video! Thank you for this.
This is wonderful! Thank you so much. Very clear and inspiring.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for the video.🙂 This video brought up some fun childhood memories. I was taught this art technique using paper, crayons, and items from nature (leaves, flat flowers, grass, bark, etc) in my primary years.
Really helpful , many thanks.
...and could you have pulled a ghost print from your plate?
So great to hear the artist speak about the inspiration for the installation.
Great video! Thank you for sharing!
Wonderful ! Thank you
I would like to make contact with dee moses. Haven't spoken with him since 1977 (?) My email is thomaschristopherson@yahoo.com
Thank you for posting
Frottage is French for something else, too.
@Easton Imran Happy to help!
She sounds so pretentious🥸 like why is she forcing all of these huge words and complex sayings?
Using big words are always difficult for small minded people. This is what you sound like when love, education and community are core aspects of what you believe, and who you are. Just like her artwork, she thinks in complex ways that some people cant follow. P.S. Just because you cant dumb down what she's saying enough to write a few paragraphs about her for your homework assignment, doesn't make her "pretentious"

Thank you so much. I’m just getting into this type of work & really love this opportunity.
Thanks very much, I enjoyed watching this lovely video which was a piece of art in itself. I’m off now to collect my materials and give it a try.
Thanks for sharing. Yes, I'm going to try this.
Awesome 🤩 Alrene Fischer
Yay I'm so happy to have found this. I'm local in Largo, FL too! Just starting to build my relief printmaking skills and I've run into issues with my ink drying to quickly. I will be ordering some retarder after this video. Can you recommend how much ink vs retarder to use on home made paper that's a bit thicker? Thanks so much!
