This is where I post any railway-related videos. To keep my main channel for music and other, err, non-railway films.
I am a volunteer at the East Lancashire Railway so a lot of videos will be taken there.

KWVR Diesels 20June 2024

Some diesels from the first day of the KWVR June gala. Ends with some stills from the shed tour. (sorry they're a bit dark, I don't normally do stills and my video camera doesn't have a flash)

I didn't get much time here, this was my first day out after an injury. But I did get a few nice shots.
D5054 ELR Cab ride extracts

I didn't film the whole cab ride, these are just the bits I did film (on my phone). This ride was done with permission. Some of the sound has been replaced to remove non-operational chat.
ELR Diesels September 2023

Just a short one from this gala, but it is 50fps with high quality stereo sound. (In theory the sound should be surround on headphones, let me know how it goes if you try that!)

I've not been out on a railway trip for ages, and it's ELR again (well, it's near and I know people there for when I'm on my own). Featuring kettles, sorry.

For complicated reasons I didn't get any further than Bury Bolton Street this time (despite buying a Rover ticket!). However there was PLENTY to see. Includes footage inside the CoBo

Looks awful, and sounds like a bag of hairdryers.
Very good and a smooth flying.
Why is a scot rail going past Hornbeam Park its northern normally 😮?
It's an old video. The turbostars had just arrived and hadn't be re-liveried.
Great video chrissie.
Great video Chrissie, you even managed to get me in lol, @ 13.51, other side of track behind the wood fence with purple t-shirt, awesome weather we had too...Mal
It was amazing weather. Slightly annoying to be filming in the sun so much (that's why it took me till this afternoon th post it). Thank you for the cameo appearance ;-)
It's good the D0226 got preserved.. would have been a shame for them to go the same way as other first generation diesels .
Billions spent on high tech and it still takes a bloke to get under to couple up!!
Very good indeed. Thanks for the look at the new Stadler Class 93. I do like that green livery, but that's just me! Quite a quiet running locomotive. Nice catch. Keep safe. Cheers!
looks & sounds bloody awful
It makes me wonder if we live in the UK anymore. Once a proud (home grown) Rail industry now down the swannee for this foreign garbage.
This foreign garbage turns out to be a lot more reliable
Isn't this Newsham not Blyth Bebside? Nice shots though.
TPE late running as usual....
Wow, one could get off on watching these before bedtime!!
Quite right, but his bosses bosses are all in the office leaving just the one worker . ☺☺But thanks for this share 👍👍
The sounds of trains so boring now. Remind me of my vacuum cleaner !
Hoover....class 50?
Great to see, what a lot of messing about to change ends ?????
I think it was aggravated by the type of coaches. The first day (Thusday, which I watched on Railcam) it took them half an hour to find the right jumpers after the first run-round!
@@ChrissieTrains it wasn't the right jumpers, it was to do with the coupler height, it was the first time it had been hooked up that end.
@@jamess1814 ahh thanks!
Things were so easy in the past.
Great footage bloody graffiti so call artist's piss artist's
Looks the part, just needs more practice and it's a cracking addition to the fleet! 🙂
Excellent video. Thank you.
thanks a very good video
it reminds me of the blunt end on a class 91 sparky! weird sounds off this new loco😎
whats it doing on a test run or doing a rail tour!
It's a test run. I think it was running on batteries when it came, it was odd having an electric-sounding loco in Sheffield ;-)
13:10 I can see some chaffing happening with those crossed hoses. They either need to make the extensions shorter or make hangers from the coupler for them.
I had to do a double take at 4:05. Until the chap came across to uncouple them and it was clear the connection was at about knee height I thought they looked down very close to rail level. Nice clip 👍
Can't believe that there is so much faffing about these days just to uncouple or couple a loco to a train. And those long hoses! As you say, something better needs to be devised.
Good to see the Hairdryer out and about,at last. Like my bro in law said,"It's the only diesel loco that sounds like an electric on both electric & diesel". Our 99's will sound much more meaty. JG.
I shall look forward to those :)
Nice video Chrissie.
Good video. One worker has a grubby jacket, the other's is spotless- he must be the boss.
Nice to see it out and about
And wizzing they were !
Very good video, thanks for sharing.
Very good video in the time you had, also good that you are starting to get out and about.
Hi, love the video! Wondered if I could buy the rights to the footage so we can use it in promotional projects? To discuss more please get in touch by calling our reservations team and asking to speak to our Marketing Manager.
Good to see the Hymek running, popped pistons and liners out of that engine, smoking a bit though 🤔
Awesome Chrissy thanks for sharing, i particularly liked the part where the staff were measuring up the hand rail and the growler just passed and looked so awaesome.
you only see parts of the E L R
Very nice video! We don't have affairs like these in Finland ...
Vary good video.
Great view of the ELR that we never get to see 😁 Thank you for sharing
My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚈🚂🛤🚅🚄🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋🚃🚇 especially railbuses like that one he thinks they are highly underrated rail transportation vehicles and all should be preserved, restored, and put back into service carrying both passengers and mail on lines that are not used anymore or at least don't get passenger service. He also thinks that Progress Rail, Siemens, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build clones of these and the departments of transportation should restore and rebuild railroad lines that were abandoned and/or removed and run these on them. But not just in Britain 🇬🇧 but in North America 🇨🇦🇺🇸 as well.
Interesting and excellent video :-). Very well done and excellent videography of the ELR September 2023 Diesel Gala event you happily attended :-). Excellent :-). Take care and many best wishes :-D :-D :-). From Foxy :-).
Another top job i did see you at Bolton street but was busy geting as many shots as i could as i didn't have mutch time.
Ahh, I thought I spotted you at one point! As well as filming I was with a friend so was a bit preoccupied too :)
Apologies for spelling your name wrong. 🤦🏻
Great video Chrissy . Love the BR green with maroon stock combination.
Question how does a GWR class 800 get to Leeds from the GWR mainline. I'm just interested.
it was 2018 - it was on test :)
Love the sound of a 68 👍
me too - though I think you probably guessed :)
@@ChrissieTrains I work about 1mile from WCML and can hear 4S44(usually a 68 )for a good few minutes before it comes into view . That sound seldom comes over on video though.
@@ianpark1906 You need pretty a good audio system to reproduce that sound (and even then you don't get the ground shaking!). I'm not even sure if TH-cam is up to it with all it's compression!
What were they doing?
With the Azuma? I'm not 100% sure tbh. they were test runs before they started running services to/from Harrogate so I guessed they were checking the gauging or something like that
I think back to the late 70s and early 80s and i think the Hymek was the first diesel loco I saw on a heritage line (the West Somerset Railway). I think all diesel locos have faces, Hymeks always looked rather furious to me. Was the BoCo fired up at all? Or just being dragged?
I agree some locos look angry - the class 60s always look VERY angry to me! The CoBo still doesn't have an engine so was being dragged for this event.
Great video, brings back many happy memories.
That....was a TREAT. ESPECIALLY the soundtrack.
Thanks, I do try and take care to use a good microphone for these things :)
Lovely Classic Traction ❤️ Beautiful sounds ❤Love Diesel Gala s Especially with Whistlers ,Tractors and Sulzer Type to English Electric to Hymeks ,Peaks ,Deltics and Hoovers each Diesel has its own special sound ❤Can't wait to see a Metrovick operating under its own power ❤️That would be awesome ❤️
Very good inded . .
