Ride or Die 2024 - Banged Up Brisket
On June 1, 2024, I set out on a 30-day motorcycle journey to circumnavigate North and Central America, aiming to ride 30,000 miles or more. I crashed on day one, rupturing my spleen just 343 miles into my journey.

This was the video I needed! I recently heard a very faint clicking in my idle (sounds just like yours). I've only put a few hundred miles on the bike and got in my head after my first oil change. Does yours also have a slight burning smell? This is my first time with an air-cooled motorcycle, and I wondering if it's normal.
30k miles and I never had any issues or smell. the engine is solid.
Solid bikes and i own R3 and fat boy, still like the shadow.. I have one in storage. Will break it some day.

Do you have to trim them often? Or will they stay on one rock and off the sand bed?
they grow over anything they can reach. I've never seen them on the sand bed, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were to grow there.

very relaxing
Direct pipes are VERY loud and sharp at high RPM... I like mine Cobra pipes, but change back to stock becase long ride very discomforted. I tried insert several flutes on it, but it wont help... so now I prefer stock soft and not too loud exhaust. Good luck!
these Vance Hines are loud but I always use ear plugs for long rides. around town is fine

my phosphates were excessive. all other parameters were healthy.
@@jsphschmttdo you do water changes? Any dosing? If your nitrates are low, bring them up to 10 or 15. What lights do you have?
@@Felis-Concolor yes i do weekly/biweekly/monthly. nitrates were low but not zero. i have dosed calcium and alkalinity to keep calcium 380-450 and dkh 7-11. i have two t5 bulbs true actinic and blue plus
@@jsphschmtt you must keep your Alk stable, keep it at 8-9. When you have low nitrates and high Alk, you burn your SPS and they bleach out. Don’t do a water change for a while, you can dose nitrate with neo-nitro it’s excellent. I’d also look into getting stronger lighting or supplement with some LED’s. Those two T5’s aren’t enough to grow SPS.

Also I realized after watching a documentary on wild corals I noticed a lot of corals had zero flow and they were opened so big I turned one of my blasters off and boy did everything open up 2 times the size
I've significantly reduced the flow for this reason. everything seems to be just as healthy if not healthier
Yea u always wanna get a really good healthy frag that’s open never get a coral that is closed that means it’s already bothered by the way it was cut or the water perimeter it self

My last bike was a shadow 750 with vance and Hines pipes. I'll never ride anything else.
They are solid machines. Great touring and fun.
