When a title decides to pander to everyone who fires up the game so they can fill their power-fantasy quota without putting the work in the question becomes- why bother? The magic, for me, and apparently many others is simply gone, to the extent that I haven't bothered with the game since, this is also why this channel is effectively dead for the time being. Since quitting the game I've been banned and barred on all the official outlets for speaking my mind and while I could hold a grudge, I don't. The more distance I get from this project the happier I am, the more productive I am able to be, and I have less casual toxicity in my life and less complete strangers berating me for making videos because I felt like it. I feel like I shouldn't stand in defense of what this channel is as the catalogue should speak for itself, I've taken down some videos that simply do not represent my current opinions or that were never really meant to be a part of the history of the channel, contemporary works that were either tirades, "drama", or otherwise me dicking around, mostly for laughs. This channel aimed and still does to deliver sci-fi machinima, to the highest standard that we can muster at any given time, that's about it. Now, every time I start warming up to making more content I am faced with the awkward task of dealing with the community, not to mention the absolute garbage fire that the game is and has always been. I don't feel like spending weeks or months working on something to have it not only go unnoticed but to be lambasted with people calling the game a scam, or alternatively- being personally attacked for having an opinion that differs from the consensus that the game is "amazing and brilliant and totally works and it's only a matter of time before it's going to be the thing that CIG has promised it to be" To be clear, I don't doubt SC being released, or SQ42 being a financial success, beyond that I don't know if that's enough to pull this thing to the finish line, it's complicated, as we all know.

HOWEVER- I refuse to pretend that I enjoy the game or what it is becoming, I refuse to pretend that Master Modes (that has at this time been scrapped and is being replaced with another flight mechanic setup, make of that what you will), would somehow be a enjoyable or cohesive experience. That is what this particular video is about, the game died for me, and many others, some just refuse to give up on it, but I don't have the time to torture myself to be bored, it's not worth it. To all of you who enjoy SC and whatever slop CIG is pushing your way, who think that their decisions are not only justified but for the best, I say- Ok, cool. I don't care. You are allowed to like or dislike whatever you want, it's none of my business and I won't call you anything for it, even though I am not only compelled but also really, really, really want to. It should be fine to enjoy something, or not enjoy it. For whatever reason the part of the community that still enjoys Star Citizen, passing critique or disliking something seems to be worth their time to harass, berate, dox, and generally be a nuisance to anybody who disagrees even a little, meanwhile when there is a random video on the topic it is usually flooded with people holding hands and trying to convince each other that the game is really good and totally not a waste of time and sure it has a few minor issues but it's still just so good, right guys? And Chris Roberts is a genius and a great leader and visionary, right guys? Maybe, but also maybe not. Time will tell. So, being called a coward for leaving the comments off here is a good example of that. You could just move on with your day, or go play SC for all I care, but you had to take the time to lash out at someone who really just wanted to keep playing a game they loved, and you feel justified to do so- this is deranged, you are deranged, and there are a lot of you. I still feel like I want to finish the story we've started here, but pretty much nobody is watching and it is a incredible chore to get anything done in the "game", so it's not appealing, no amount of creative desire is enough to fire me up to try, especially when dealing with the community that is, in my books, just one of the most awful and toxic gatherings of people I've seen in my entire time on the internet, and I've seen a few, this one is.. something else. So, no, I don't feel like I'm a coward for not wanting to listen to your endless excuses and tiresome bs about how I am wrong and don't understand game design. It's all been said before and I've heard it all before, there is really nothing else to say on the matter. To put it bluntly- I'm sick of your bullshit and I don't want it in my life, I got better things to do, please respect that fact. The like to dislike ratio on this video is 66,8% with 276 likes vs 137 dislikes, I don't know what that means as our channel is obscure at best. Master Modes has been declared dead on arrival and is being replace with "Operator Modes", make of that what you will. I doubt I will ever return to any of this, despite being still inspired to maybe make something, because Star Citizen, CIG and the community at large makes me sick to my stomach, I try to avoid things that make me unhappy and drain my energy and time, and I've been very, very happy not engaging with the game or community. Make of that what you will. So, I don't know if this is goodbye, but it might as well be, but never say never. That still doesn't change the fact at hand, and it doesn't change how I feel about a large portion of the community- I don't like you, I don't like the way you approach me, I don't think your opinions are valid or based in reality, I think you are the problem; you have given CIG a free pass to spin the yarn however they please and when someone calls for accountability you go on the offense, as if CIG wasn't a 800 million dollar company with 1000 or so employees (not devs). For reference, Bethesda has around 500 people working last time I checked. Make of that what you will. Someone recently called me out on equating CIG to the likes of UbiSoft and Bethesda, Activision/Blizzard, saying that CIG is not like them- and they are absolutely right, the mentioned companies are known to release some games every few years, that arguably at least have some working content and something to do, the rest is subjective, once again. So I'm not sure why some of you feel like you need to attack me for not liking pineapple on pizza so to speak, I'd like to think there are worse people out there than someone who has a differing opinion on a unreleased title 13 years in the making currently in a fairly broken state. I'll remind you that I've made several videos supporting Holding the Line, I used to believe it was worth it, at that time the game was still a fun experience when it worked, which wasn't often, mind you, but worth the trouble. If you love SC you keep on loving SC, I might one day again, but YOU are not making it very easy on me to give it a try, it's not so much the game but the way you put it on a pedestal, your childish attitude towards it, they way you demand subservience to CIG and the hollowed legacy of the Great Leader, the way you insist that they are somehow infallible, the way you insist that anybody who is calling them out on their absolute dogwater is somehow completely out of their minds. I don't think it's very good, I don't think it's very fun, I don't think it's very original and I don't think it's very functional, so what? What of it? Why is that a threat to you? Anyways, if you read this, thank you for your time, hope things work out in your favor, whatever it is you're seeking, I don't see us digging ourselves up from this pit as we've been pushed down by the algorithm since day one and any time we actually do get picked up by the algo it's because of videos like this, and it's simply not we came to do here, so this is all fairly pointless. And mind you, this is why so much hate-content exists- you don't click on the cool shit, you don't support the positivity, you want the hate, you want the drama, you want to argue, as if somehow being a Citizen and defending the game is a part of your persona and of some merit and importance. It shouldn't be, it is, despite all the emotions we have towards it, just a game, IF you can even call it that, as since I've stopped TRYING to play SC I've rediscovered what gaming is actually like; it can be really relaxing and fun, and mostly effortless, usually rewarding. This channel might just be dead, and that is okay, it was around for 2 years or so and I'd like to think we had a good time, minus a few hiccups with some unstable people. If you are triggered about this you should seek other hobbies and psychological counseling, it's not normal to have a reaction like that to the opinion of strangers. Whether you love Star Citizen or don't, I wish you the best and hope the game pulls through, that CIG gets to where they said they were going, I really do, but personally I can't be bothered anymore, I'm too old, too poor and too busy for this shit, and I am, oh so very done with you and your delusional opinions, whatever they may be. I'm heading back to the cave, to live the rest of my days out in relative solitude and obscurity, it was nice to meet you though. My buddy here on the channel might still publish something, be kind to them, they deserve better and are the one responsible for some of your favorite vids.
