Yes it was very sad but he didn't know how to behave himself and I know what it's like to be an alcoholic as I am a recovering one but I don't like reed much . He is definitely funny , charismatic and talented but then so was ghengis khan and he wasn't staggering around bragging about his exploits .

Because of my work as a sound engineer and occasional stage hand in the late 80`s though the 90`s and early 2000`s I`ve been lucky enough to see Frankie live twice and easily in my top 10 along with the likes of Peter Kay, Al Murray, Mike Reid, Bernard Manning and Ken Dodd....a real mix and all great comics.....But above them them all, the best stand up I have EVER seen live on stage...BOB MONKHOUSE....... WITHOUT DOUBT THE COMICS COMIC........which he proved just before he died....infront of an audience of his piers, a true genius.
