My mom & I have a great relationship too, I wouldn’t say she’s like a best friend because she’s my mom so I was always taught to separate the two but we are very close and I always felt comfortable talking to her about anything! And we be cutting jokes, and having are silly moments & stuff…. My mom always created that safe space to come to her no matter what is going on but my mom also created a boundary level that she is my mom and to be respectful. Now that I’m an adult and have a child of my own I definitely want to create the same relationship with my son. I also want to allow my son to ask questions, old school teaching make it seem as though it’s disrespectful but in actuality it’s not. If you don’t understand something why can’t you ask a question for clarity? Everything isn’t disrespectful. Also, Bestfriend I would do the same! If my current boyfriend was plucking my nerves then I’ll replace him, my patience was very thin lol 😂…. But I wasn’t boy crazy, at that age I was focusing on making money 😅

First of all you know I will be quick to throw on some joggers, a t-shirt, & some Nike’s lol 😆…. But yea bestfriend, this was very helpful and it does help give others a different perspective. Another thing I wanted to add; it was something you said at the end of the video…. When giving advice, even if you are just trying to help, seek God first! Ask God is this something you should say because we honestly don’t know where a person’s head space could be at that very moment…. I know some people really mean well but we want to make sure that everything that we say as well as do is coming from a place of love so the best way to do that is just to ask God for guidance on what to say/ do to encourage and to give helpful criticism in a way that it doesn’t come off offensive.
