Be nice if you guys do an updating post now that much of the evidence is falling apart... from insulin miscalculation/ air embolus ( its impossible to cause air embolus in the way they expert suggested) statistics are incorrect, key card data is incorrect..... the staff rota made only showed nurses on duty.... there is an issue and disparity between how much the prosecution cost and how much the defence cost..... and the superbugs and infection control issues... to mention just a handful...

Over here in the UK, there has been a lot of support for Lucy Letby. Including 24 expert neonatologists and statisticians, celebrities, and members of the British parliament. All are challenging the prosecution evidence. Letby has now a new legal team and is submitting another appeal. There is now a public enquiry called the Thurlwell Enquirey, where a lot of, before unknown, evidence has been revealed.

I can't emphasise enough there is stigma . I was just recently diagnosed and I am middle-aged but a new nurse. It's frustrating bc on one hand people say " no shame" but on other hand people without ADHD clearly consider our issues as flaws or annoyances. The word " disorder" after ADH doesn't help. I encounter non-ADHD nurses and yes, they may be more organised or have neat handwriting. Yay. But I can creatively problem solve, I have strong intuition and assessment skills. I can think outside the box and talk just about anyone off a cliff. Literally and figuratively. So to those without ADHD, please don't consider your organisation skills as more virtuous or valid than the strengths possessed by your ADHD coworker or spouse or friend.

As a military wife I had to move every 4-5 years and would lose my seniority. Couldn't get summer vacation for 2 years in one hospital. It was discouraging to be told I had better qualifications for a position but due to seniority did not get the job. Switched to part-time just to have more flexibility to get time off.

As a new grad in my first job, I was denied time off for my wedding (which had been in the works for six years). I was able to switch some shifts but ended up calling in sick so I could go on a three day honeymoon. It wasn't prime vacation season (beginning of October). I did not feel valued as a new nurse. We can do better.

OK wait a minute - first off these qui tam lawsuits are CIVIL cases where the outcome is about whether or not the defendant(s) is liable for monetary damages, so getting a cut of the settlement fits; while murder, manslaughter etc are CRIMINAL cases where the outcome is whether or not the defendant is going to jail (and in some states death row), so talking about financial incentives in this context is like putting a bounty on wolf skins, except much worse

  • @jerrysoucy2611

wow yes at 48:00 - not only will a hospital NOT admit that they (people running it) are the problem, they'll pay a lot of money to someone else to give them a sticker they can paste on their front door proclaiming how awesome they are it's called magnet(tm) and it's the biggest moneymaker for ANA Enterprise

Off the bat, talking about "how rare" the bad things are can minimize the bad things you're talking about and feed into the stereotype of nurses as white angels of purity and goodness. I expect Special Agent Sackman has gotten plenty of indignant "not ALL nurses!" - but my own assessment is that The Cartman Rule applies to nursing as much as anywhere, namely that 25% of any given population is irredeemable. You're talking about a case at the most extreme end of what a nurse can do, which is important - and it's also important to keep in mind all of the other levels of violence. I'm going to have to take this in bites there's a lot to hear - nice work

The only people in the way of having functioning health care system is the current and last government(which is still doug ford just from before the election). I seriously blame them for soo much! I have three hospitals where Ilive plus urgent care. I went to urgent care because of what I'm guessing, still don't actually know, but I believe it was my sciatic nerve. I couldn't walk normally and i often had knee and him pain I didnt even think of it having anything to do with anything but old injuries. I also thought it was funny sounding to say my sciatica is acting up... I have heard that in some sort of comedic bit.

Doug Ford and the PC government are destroying this province. He is turning everything into business.. the business of profitting off peoples problems which seems likr an reward for others when the people are suffering. They have private for profit group homes(hatts off) that are appalling, have already been involved in horrible shit and yet still they allow this shit to go on. The are rewarding the private for profit LTC homes that had the worst deaths in Ontario and there there are outside medical groups from england I think, they were calling for an inquiry into what went wrong in our country with covid. This government rewards be people doing bad things and they should have to answer for a bunch of stuff. Too bad they seem soooo buddy buddy with the police forces(which is something else i worry about, the police departments seem to be rather politicized... that is not suppose to be like that... we actially have soo many frigging problems that I don't think anyone is paykng much attention to.. I hope I am wrong though. 🤞
