Sorry I thought you were changing the differential
I thought colorado used 75w90 full synthetic gear oil
wha do you recommend i want to lower my 1995 z28
Well I will be honest with you I know absolutely nothing about lowering a car. Roads are way too bad around here so I have never done it. But there should be many kits out there for these cars.
I go 1 step further with all my cars. After the pan is back on add 5 qts fluid then remove the cooler line at the radiator. Run it till the fluid stops coming out. Then put back together and fill to spec. The 5 qts flushes all the old fluid out of the converter. No point in adding new oil to the old stuff . Flushes out the cooler as well
Yes that would be the best way to do a full flush. I change mine so often that the fluid never gets bad enough to do a full flush.
Dropping the trans the way he did, does it not damage the back of the engine as it comes into contact with the firewall??
No I didn't damage anything. I dropped it slowly. If you ever want to remove the transmission to change the torque converter you have no choice but to tilt the engine back to get access to the transmission bolts.
Good video. For nitrous you thinks 75shot or 100 shot on progressif mode its a good Idea for safe?
Well if set up properly nitrous can be a easy way to add some serious power fairly cheaply. There is always a risk of something going wrong and grenading the engine but that's true with anything you do to these cars.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 ok thanks for your opinion

Best mod for the tuned port injection: get rid of the tuned port injection. Too bad they made such a good looking manifold with no top end.
The best mod for TPI is to replace it with a carburetor.
Well that is the easiest way to get more power out of these engines and many have done it but that's also what makes the cars that still have the TPI system more valuable. And the TPI just looks way cooler but you are right it is a lot easier to go with a carburetor setup.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 it does look way cooler for sure. The reason I'm going to a carburetor is because the previous owners butchered the wiring and it never ran right so it was the best thing to do
Yeah I can understand that. It is also getting harder to find people who can tune them.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 that's for sure. And I don't know how to work on it either.
Where should proper oil level be in hash area below, middle, top? Also best to check sitting overnight or when warm?
Well I try and have it towards the top of the hash marks when cold without going over. Some may say I am over filling it but that's what I like. The best time to check is when it's cold because most of the oil will be in the oil pan.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 thank you
As a girl... thank you 😭💖 because I almost cried when I was looking for a video of my truck and found this one. I just made 24 and I've never had to change a light on my truck so thank you for posting this you're a life saver 🥹💖
Happy to hear the video helped and appreciate you leaving a comment.
Just got my heads back from the machine shop, for my 95. Im chompin at the bit to get her back on the road. She puts out 427 whp NA, and has a 130 shot of nitrous when needed? to help get over those steep hills. 😂
Sounds like a beast. These are great cars and in my opinion the best bang for your buck cars available today.
427whp!😍 Whats you setup!? If you don't mind sharing a little 🙏🏾 my 96 Camaro SS is down at the moment but I plan on doing a 351 with bigger injectors 525 fuel pump ported heads intake manifold and throttle body mild cam long tubes and of course the torque head
Great video!
Thanks for watching and commenting we really appreciate it.
Had a 91 GTA , 160 stat , chip and a 1000 cfm throttlebody , car flew compared to stock
Yeah these are still great engines and can be made to perform better with modifications.
Not easy. I won't be doing this. I've always had Toyotas. No tools needed. I just bought a GMC CANYON. I will let the dealership do this.
Just popped in for a good top 10 car vid. As a child of the 80s, the first car that made me rubber neck when it started was an El Do. Much as I prefer light and fast, those old classy ladies still get you in the feels somewhere deep inside.
Isn't this also a trickle charger? Do I have to leave it plugged in all the time for it to work?
Well you don't have too but if you just want it for a trickle charger they have other ones that would work better. This one bolts directly to the battery where as other models use the clamps that can easily be connected and disconnected from the battery.
Number 10 any g body, but 10-5 are all g bodies…….not disagreeing but why would 10 be any g body and then go on to name more g bodies?
Well there is not alot of cars to choose from GM in the 80s and there were a ton of those regular G Body's around but the 442,Grand Nationals and SS were much more rare and way cooler.
I had a 1985 Pontiac Trans Am with the fuel injected 305. I believe the design of the car's body was ahead of its time. I think it could roll off the line today and not look too out of place.
I would have to agree with you. Pontiac was great when it come to car design.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 I sure was sad when they eliminated the Pontiac brand.
@evansmoak7182 Yes I agree. Imagine what a 5 and 6 generation Trans AM would have been like.
Im a huge g body guy man, i used to have a nice restored 1978 el camino me and my dad did together and i currently have a 1980 cutlass calais with an ls swap and some other goodies, its slowly getting a full makeover! Love this car so much.
Yes they are great cars. There used to be tons of them here where I live and now it's rare to see one.
I never even knew about the Pontiac 2+2😮…G bodies are really making a comeback here!!
Yeah you don't see too many of them. I almost bought one back in the early 90s. Haven't seen one since except for on TH-cam.
Does this exhaust system remove all cats? And nice video
Yes we had to remove the cats.
@@LSxMotorsports2021did you have to tune it? Also did you get check engine light?
@SoToAnTrAx You can run this without any tuning but you will get a check engine light. To avoid the check engine light you need to turn off the the MIL codes for the secondary O2 sensors and if you have an automatic you need to turn off the codes for the valves in the exhaust for the DOD. But it will run fine without a tune you just have to deal with having the check engine light on.
Why ruin a perfect gen 1 sbc in a gen 3 platform? A gen4 camaro, yes LS makes perfect sense
What's the usb for?
You download the firmware onto the USB then load it onto the stereo.
Also 2" wont free up any extra hp worth the cost diff and not necessary unless supercharged and cam/heads.
never rev a cold motor.
I agree. This was started and run awhile to check for leaks before we filmed it revving.
how long did the entire install take you guys?
It's been a long time since we did it but probably 4-5 hours.
I noticed the same issue on a 2011 Tahoe, I owned. It had an air dam and a built-in factory "rake/stance" (factory tow package) where it sat with the rear end higher than the front. I put a leveling kit on the front to even out the rake/stance, and removed the front air dam. It got about 2-3 mpg less at cruise on the highway. The aero pkg on these trucks is really important if you do a lot of highway driving....
Yeah it really does make a difference especially at higher speeds.
My question is what’s the name of the bar over the panhard bar? There’s two bars the lower one and upper one and my lower one literally snapped so I want to replace but idk what to look for. They clearly look different ?
Yes they are different. The lower one is the panhard bar. The upper is the panhard brace.
If you had the car on a lift, would that eliminate the problem you had with the car shifting and lining up the holes?
I am not sure, Never had the luxury of a lift.lol. Probably the weight of everything hanging down it would probably shift a little but would be alot easier to shove everything back into place. But you would still need the car back on the ground before torqing all the bolts because they say the car needs to be resting under it's full weight on level ground before torqing the bolts. But definitely everything is easier when working with a lift.
Great vid! Hows those true duals sound?!
There are some videos on the channel of the car running the 1/4 mile you can hear how it sounds.
Hey do you know what plug your alternator has? Is it a 2 wire plug? Thank you
The autoparts stores sell garbage opti sparks. Even if it has a lifetime warranty its not worth it.
I agree. The owner of the 94 Camaro on the channel found that out the hard way.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 I'm getting my MSD distributor back and for $250 MSD installs a new cap and rotor, new MSD opti spark sensor, bearings and includes shipping. The benefit I get from the MSD units is that I'm able to drive home when it fails. I'll eventually upgrade to the Torque Head when I build a 383.
That's great that MSD stands behind their Opti spark. We just installed a torque head on a 94 Camaro and it was pretty pricey. We ran into a problem that I hope we get fixed in the next day or two. Waiting for a part but I will explain in the video what went wrong. But I was able to download the tune from the new PCM that came with the torqhead and I am pleased to say it is going to be very easy to tune it with HP tuners.
Im going to delete my opti spark for a Torque head 24x or EFI connection. For now i use the MSD lt1 distributor and when it fails i get it repaired instead of throwing it away. They fail just like others do but its the only one that lets me drive home when it starts failing.
Yeah we have the torque head 24x on its way for the Black 94 Z28 that is on the channel.
Thats amazing, what tires are you running on this car?
Nitto 555R2 drag radials. They work great on this car but this car has a slow 60 ft time because it is an automatic with the stock converter. Not sure how well they would hook with a manual car or a car with a high stall converter.
@@LSxMotorsports2021Still for what it is, it hooks pretty damn well. I have a 1999 z28 automatic as well, unfortunately though I do not have the SS 275mm tires and rims, stock tire size is 235/55/r16 for mine. I run 235/60/r16 Goodyear Reliants all seasons
Super easy, quick video. Thank you
Thanks for watching and commenting we really appreciate it.
It's spelled dam.
Thanks. Fixed it.
I have a 95 Z28 with lots of mods. One of the best mods I did was change the rear gears from 2.73 to a 3.73. That really woke my car up.
Yes going from 2:73 to 3:73 would make a huge difference.
HAHA! I manualed my fan switch too! Love it. Fuck the haters, theyre always dumbasses.
Swap in an LS 2.
That's not much of an upgrade. Small bump in displacement yes but the heads and intake are a very small improvement over the LS1. If your LS1 is in good shape a set of aftermarket or ported heads and cam will perform much better than a stock LS2.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 who said stock? If you are going to do bolt on upgrades then obviously you do the same to the LS2.
This is true but finding an LS2 is the problem. They are not that common in salvage yards and I don't think GM sells them anymore and it they did it would be hugely expensive. At that cost you may as well buy a stroker motor. This channel is about getting the most out of what you already have as cheaply as possible. Of course there is nothing cheap about modifying cars but it's usually done over several years. If cost wasn't an issue then a stroker motor or an LS3 would be the way to go.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 To each his own. My LS2 giggles.
Gen5lt1. Go big or go home
From what I heard, the 1990 gta 305 tpi was a mapped car and doing mods past the cold air intake and exhaust opened a Pandora’s box of problems and made the car run like crap
This is true. The early TPI cars have a MAF and the later cars are Speed density. So after some bolt on parts you will need tuning before going any further on the speed density cars but even the cars with a MAF should have tuning. That is just a fact for all Fuel injected cars. But even carberated cars require tuning when doing any major upgrades it is just done differently.
I installed mine the way you started to… on the rear brakes. You have to plumb the line lock in reverse for it to work right. It’s GREAT on the rears! Can roll out as far as you want.
Yeah that's what I preferred but the owner of the car didn't care for it. We also found that his master cylinder was bad so that got in the way of finishing the video without it looking like a mess but it does work.lol.
Recently started fixing up my new 94 ls1 and I just wanna make sure I push my car and get up and running all I need now is a fuel tank but do you know what would be a better exhaust system for the car. I’m look for loud and rowdy
Well pretty much all the systems made for this car are single 3" systems so they all perform about the same. The SLP loud mouth is pretty rowdy and is priced better than most. Speed engineering also makes a true dual exhaust that is made for the 98-02 camaros but minor modifications and it will work as long as you have headers to go with it.
Even with the stock muffler the car sounds amazing, I have a 22’ 2SS with the AWE track cat back which is the 3inch x pipe all the way to the back and I can’t wait to get my 2inch headers
Yeah I agree these cars sound great even with all stock exhaust. And even better with the headers and Xpipe.
www.amazon.es/eléctrico-control-bloqueo-rodillo-soporte/dp/B07SZCF8FC/ref=sr_1_2 I think this is a link to the Amazon store for Spain but not sure. Thanks for watching and commenting.
93-97 cars are not that desirable because of optispark issues. I should know my 94 firebird has been off the road the past 8 years due to three bad optisparks.all the aftermarket optisparks are somewhat sketchy. Also gen 2 lt1 engines are a pain in the ass to work on especially in the f body. Recently i been trying to get in touch with Torqhead to buy one of their kits all i get is thier voice mail.
Well we just recently ordered the torque head 24x. Be a month or so and we will have some videos on the kit.
Great like I said I been trying to get one of their kits . I call their number and all I get is " leave a message and we'll get back to you. This has been going on for the past six months what did you do to get one of their kits?
I sent an e-mail with a bunch of questions and he answered about 3days later. It does say it will be 3-4 weeks after ordering before it gets shipped out. But once we get it I will post a picture on the channel and probably not long after that we will have a video. The owner of the Z28 is pretty anxious to get this installed. I am anxious to see if it can be tuned as simple as my LS1 Camaro.
@LSxMotorsports2021 well like said I left a ton of emails to his site and gave them my email alddress and phone number. I too want to get one of these kits ,just having a hell of a time trying to get hold of them. I don't have the money or time to do LS swap
Well we will let you know how it turns out. You never know maybe we will never get it. I hope that's not the case but it will definitely end up on the channel if we don't get it and have to fight to get our money back. Not sure why you're not getting a response. This will be the first time ever dealing with this company so I can't say anything good or bad about them although it is irresponsible not to answer a potential customer.
My 96 T/A is built essentially exactly as you describe. Slightly beefed rear end, SLP Loudmouth exhaust, beefed clutch since stock just toasted, lt4 heads with hot cam, ported intake, better throttle body, cold air intake, injectors, etc. Just need the sticky tires.
Nice setup. That's almost the exact combination I wanted when I had my 94 Z28 I just never got around to it.
Looking into a 1987 Firebird trans am on Friday. 350 tpi if I’m not mistaken since it’s listed as the 5.7
That would be a great car. Hopefully it still has the TPI. Good luck hopefully it will be in great shape at a good price. Come back and let us know if you got it.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 66k miles, listed for 9,900 I absolutely will! Would love to hear your advice on how to vamp her up!
Sounds good. The TPI engines are very torquey and respond well to all the usual bolt on parts. The only tricky part is when you get into heads and Cam finding a good tuner is definitely needed. But you may be happy with it completely stock or just a few bolt ons.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 any brand recommendations? I’ve seen a lot of recommendations for holley, but it was on a regular small black 350 with a carburetor so I wasn’t sure if those pieces like the headers were universal Appreciate the advice! Definitely gonna subscribe
Hawks motorsports is a good place to look for 3rd gen parts.A cold air intake and cat back exhaust is where most people start. And in most cases you don't need the most expensive parts often times the cheaper parts will perform just as well when it comes to your standard bolt on performance parts.
Just bought a 98 z28 and this channel is a gold mine
Thanks. I hope we have something to help you out. There definitely be more to come as I get the budget to do more mods.
I love the ls3. Plenty of power and can easily build it up.
Yes I agree. The LS3 has the power of the LT1 but the simplicity of the LS1.
