A few more good ones in public domain: - Dracula by Bram Stoker has aged wonderfully and would be great during spooky season - Frankensten by Mary Shelley is great for the same season as well - The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas is great if you want a longer book - A bunch of the old Conan the Barbarian stories are fun, but not all of them are in public domain

There is this book that is a lot like LOTR called "strife if the mighty" I really enjoyed this book. I have looked for it in ASMR so many times, and I only found chapter one by a different asmrtist. So it would be great if you could read it

There's a Woman on here by the name of @libraryofwhispersasmr who experienced almost the identical issue. It might be worth reaching out to her and seeing how she deals with it etc.

I'm glad to hear that you're planning on continuing your videos, they really are brilliant. I was getting worried that you had stopped for good, just when I had finally discovered you. Too bad about LOTR, but I'd very much be happy to continue "The Little Prince", it's been quite a while since I last read it.

I hope the situation wasn't too hard for you. I'm sad to hear there will be no more LOTR, but as others suggest there are plenty good books out there! Whichever book you choose, we'll be waiting :)

Horror stories 😍

Anything by H.P. Lovecraft would be cool, he tends to simply tell an isolated story instead of writing a full length book. They can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to read out loud so they could offer a wide array of video lengths. And there really is no important relation between - or order to - his stories

Could you do mystery novels like Sherlock Holmes? Or maybe something more to your liking?

Public domain books I suggest: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz The Adventures of Pinocchio (I suggest the Mary Alice Murray translation) Anne of Green Gables Emily of New Moon Winnie-the-Pooh The House at Pooh Corner (newly public domain this year) Any Sherlock Holmes story (just make sure you get the original version of The Resident Patient and not the butchered version that has part of the opening of The Cardboard Box pasted into into it, which unfortunately is fairly common in US editions) Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Bambi (just make sure it's a public domain translation) A Little Princess Any Beatrix Potter story (except for Little Pig Robinson, which won't be public domain until 2026) Oliver Twist The Wind in the Willows

I'm sorry to hear you've run into some difficulties. I want to throw The Jungle Books by Kipling out as a suggestion. Classic characters (but also radically different from Disney, and with poetry mixed in too. If Kipling hits well, Puck of Pook's Hill is also a classic of his. Also, are you just pulling down the Fellowship videos, or is The Hobbit also going to be impacted?
