    If anyone has a drone they should send it up and see if the storm made the opening any larger, or created any new ones out to open water

    The new timeline for UEP3 is very disappointing. Lee county is leaving property owners in limbo in this area. Land tax went up 30% in 2023 and people with existing properties are left juggling the decision to wait or build now (well/septic) only to be required to tap in when city sewer/water come in 2027. It’s frustrating to receive ridiculous tax increases and no service. NWNA is a terrific organization and I hope they can push Lee County for an earlier start date.

    I went through there several times last week with a jetski and mapped the entire area. I did not see any damming of the channel. Not to say it's not true, but I ran into someone fishing on a flats boat, and he was friendly. I did get some dirty looks from a kayaker, though. It is a little eerie back there but very peaceful. Regarding rocks, is there a map to view their locations? I have several tracks going through there and have yet to hit or even see a rock. As far as wide enough for two boats, most of the entire run is more than wide enough for two boats. There would only be a handful of areas where trimming of the mangroves would be an issue. Getting into the shallows and cutting across to two pines is the issue. I have a detailed video if you are interested of the entire run.

    Great video. We do need another way out for those of us who live up in the NW cape. With all the building going on and the 7 island project, along with the new boat ramp at Crystal lake park there will be so much more marine traffic. Going along the docks in Matlacha to get out is going to me a nightmare

    Thanks for all you do Jerry. We are looking forward to improving our properties in the near-future. We are in UEP 3 with a projected timeline of 2025. It would be greatly appreciated if you wouldn't mind posting updates on UEP 3 as you speak with township officials on the regular.

    That video was shot in December 2019. I’ve been through that pass a dozen times at least, and if you follow the path in the video, it’s 40 minutes at min wake speed to Two Pines.

  • @scottsienkiewicz8371

    I always wondered if I could get through there with a shallow boat. Are there any regulations that say you can't pass through there?

  • @atsea3858
    @atsea3858 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only way you can go by that creek is at a very high extreme tide. I have gone by there many times on an 8-foot dinghy draft an 8-in. I had to get out and drag the boat. Not a navigation channel to Charlotte Harbor.

    • @prokd-uq1no
      @prokd-uq1no 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree. I had a kayak with 2hp motor. Had to lift motor and paddle several areas. This video was taken at peak high tide. Try it any other time and this boat isn’t making it out. Not to mention how narrow it is. If another boat is coming opposite direction no where to go.

      It's over. They are not going to be happy until they pave or pour concrete over every square foot of Cape Coral, because of the almighty dollar. To the person who said where is the wildlife, they are gone except a few stragglers. Gone are miles and miles of undeveloped land with natural lakes and ponds teaming with bass and other species. Deer were once plentiful as well as wild turkeys. Now it's a concrete eyesore like every single other city in this country. After 7 generations and over almost 2 centuries, our family has left. They can have it. It's nothing to us any longer.

    We seriously need better road safety in NW Cape. All of the 4 way stops are insanely stressful because people don't follow procedure. I'm for growth but we're bringing more traffic without infrastructure improvements. It's not safe around here.

Not to mention many of the neighbors who surround the forest / ponds and appreciate it and the quietness are already against it , fuck you pieces of shit , get fucked !
