Thanks for the response and you are right about the hyper style not matching the dog. Alfie unfortunately passed away after a short battle with cancer in September just after his 12th birthday so it's quite touching to know people are still seeing him and responding, I have thought about making a video across his life as there are plenty to choose from with the tone as you've suggested.

@@johnmcl7 I get the feeling there are dogs who've lived to be 18 who would eagerly trade lives with Alfie. Thanks for getting back to me on that - I've had 3 (American) Cockers, all of whom have traveled with me on my motorcycle, so I can appreciate how sacred memories can be with those lovable characters. @@craigfinnegan8534 Great to hear from a fellow cocker spaniel fan, we now have Bertie who is also a little blue roan spaniel and a loveable little lunatic as you'd expect from a cocker. I wouldn't recommend subbing to my channel as I don't upload much and rarely any dog videos although I should do a similar up to eight months video for Bertie.

I spoke with the guy who designed this and he advised the tiles on this rubiks cube were too shiny and recommended either sanding down the tiles or buying one of the Rubiks cube copies. I think I went with sanding down the cube and that worked well, the author of the project was incredibly helpful on their Facebook page so I'd recommend getting in touch with them if you're still having problems.

You are completely right, I even bought a new backpack for the Mavic and my usual bike stuff so I could get some video of people riding but never got around to using it yet and now it's too dark.

@@johnmcl7 what do you think low light shooting is like?, if it was to hover over the Daviot descent on a moon lit snowy night?

This was a Zhiyun rider-m and it was mounted on a standard gopro chest mount. I had looked at the Feiyu tech gimbal but they don't have a good reputation for reliability. I've also been trying a 360 degree camera as it's less fiddly to mount and the stabilisation from it is incredible as it has such a wide range it can correct but it's battery life is poor, it needs a lot of storage space and work to process it

Actually I've just realised this is the Garmin Virb 360 which was helmet mounted, I have another video with the chest mounted gimbal as I was wearing both at the same time.

@@johnmcl7 Okay, the 360 was helmet-mounted without the gimbal. The price of these name-brand 360s remains high at this point, and like you said, requires some processing to extract that 360 view. Might consider such a device in the future. Thank you for the info on the rider-M.

Fully grown for this type of spaniel is around seven to eight months old, Alfie was eight months old at the end of this video. It's odd to think how long ago this video was as he's just about to turn nine

How is the shape of the arm before operating? What is the file name for solving the cube?

mc3solver-v2p1.rtf is the actual executable you need to transfer to the Mindstorms kit, the ev3 file is the project file you open in the Mindstorms software

Yes, this is Destiny - used to struggle with this character type but changed to the class that allows these lightning grenades and doing much better. Recorded the video to show the person that had recommended the setup

+EviL Ras I uploaded this for the guy who designed it to have a look as I can't get it working, it's an incredibly clever design that can solve a rubiks cube. It spins the cube round and scans each face with the light sensor to work out the current configuration then what should happen is, it then solves it by holding the lifting arm in place and rotating the turntable which should then move the bottom part of the Rubiks cube. Unfortunately it's not getting past the scanning stage which seems to be because the cube is too shiny.

I'm really glad that was useful to you, I agree about Dashware as I find it time consuming and frustrating to use while the Virb software is quick and it's easy to play around with the gauges.

Glad you enjoyed the video, the software is Garmin Virb Edit - it's a free download for Virb cameras but I *think* you can use it with standard mp4's from other cameras and match them with fit/gpx files. It's not as advanced as Dashware but I find it quick and easy to use, I usually render the full run in Virb Edit (it fails on the first export but works when you reopen the software) then do any editing work in Sony Vegas

johnmcl7, I live in Moray and also have a blue roan cocker spaniel. He's 4 years old but still acts like a puppy! 😂
