DMI #6(66): Ob Nixilis
Hailing from Colorado Springs in 2019, Ob Nixilis have cemented their spot in the local metal scene over the past few years with their ever-evolving sound, solid songwriting, and entrancing performances. This interview was conducted before one of their many Denver shows this year in the basement of the HQ: a now common haunt for the band members. I was lucky enough to sit down with all four members and talk about a new album, Ob's formation, and plans for the ever encroaching future. Manny, Jeremy, Joe, and Talia are splendid people as well as musicians which is abundantly clear in this interview. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did making it!

The King Diamond obsession can't stop, won't stop, will never stop! Here's a bunch of shirts I have from both bands and perhaps more will come down the road.
DMI #5: -N I H I L-
มุมมอง 612 หลายเดือนก่อน
-N I H I L- are some of the freshest faces in the Denver metal scene with their first show occurring in the summer of 2023. One wouldn't think this is the case as Thomas and Rylan's playing, knowledge, and networking is far more advanced than their age. Combining 80's thrash metal and 90's death metal into a unique blend, -N I H I L- are ready to take on the world and decimate any poser in thei...
DMI #4: Steve Bogar (Seed Of The Sorcerer Womb Of The Witch)
มุมมอง 603 หลายเดือนก่อน
Steve Bogar sings in a very unique band. With three guitar players, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and an impressive stage show: SOTSWOTW are a one in a million band. Luckily, they're here in the Denver to treat our metal addiction. Seed's frontman took the time to sit down with me after their show at The Crypt and discuss the origins of the band, the band's writing process, and why their first album,...
T-Shirt Collection: Exhumed
มุมมอง 615 หลายเดือนก่อน
Exhumed has been a band that's been engrained into my own personal metal journey for as long as I can remember. In this video, I'll show off the many sick shirt designs I've picked up over the years, all from their fantastic live shows, plus a few extras. Long live Gore Fucking Metal!
DMI #3: Austin Minney (Victim Of Fire, Only Echoes, Ignorant Bliss, Oreyn, JSR, All Aces Studios)
มุมมอง 216 หลายเดือนก่อน
Austin Minney is an incredibly friendly, hardworking, and professional lifer in the Denver scene. Contributing to live sound, booking, producing, and music to hundreds of bands-Austin has really done it all. In this interview we discuss how he entered the music scene, mastered his many crafts, and his drive to continue doing even more. An inspiration and a friend to so many, Austin is the real ...
DMI #2: Elias Addison (Teratanthropos)
มุมมอง 798 หลายเดือนก่อน
Elias is a self-admittedly introverted soul which is hard to believe when you see him on stage. His demeanor and voice shapeshift into an inhuman form when he sings, commanding the audience to hear exactly what he’s doing. He makes the performance look easy and appears at home in front of an audience, so when I first met him, I was pleasantly shocked to see how different he was off stage. Humbl...
DMI #1: Blood Spring (Hexsiren, Ashes For The Mute)
มุมมอง 1129 หลายเดือนก่อน
Blood Spring is a friendly, witty, and outspoken defender of the heavy metal faith. From his solo project Hexsiren to his unwavering devotion of attending shows: Frank does it all. Despite being a newbie to the Denver scene, he has quickly found his place here and made numerous friends, including myself. The artistry of extreme music is integrated into his very being, which is why he is the fir...

มุมมอง 17ปีที่แล้ว
Saxon is one of those essential bands you have to listen to when on the heavy metal journey. In 1980, they ruled the world as they helped usher in the NWOBHM and they did this by releasing two hallmark albums: Wheels Of Steel and Strong Arm Of The Law. In this video I go over both records and determine which one is the better album.
Ten Metal Bands I'd Love To See Live

Shirt Collection: Midnight
มุมมอง 62ปีที่แล้ว
Midnight has become one of my favorite bands in the last few years, not only from their brand of sleazy speed metal, but also from their rad merch. I hope you enjoy this video where I show off all the shirts I've obtained from their shows. *NOTE this is a re-upload, the original one was the unedited version.
Metalhead Reaction: Cannibal Corpse-Blood Blind *EDIT*

One of my absolute favorite bands dropped a brand new song, announced a new album, and a tour on an incredible death metal day. Please enjoy my reaction to the new track, Blood Blind, and my thoughts on it afterwards too. How mush price?
I first heard Mercyful Fate in 1984 when "Don't Break the Oath". came out. Been a fan ever since. Awesome shirt collection! 🤘
Thanks man! I bet you have some great stuff in your collection
That's a sick battle vest 🤘🤘
Nice album ranking I considered Opus Eponymous my favorite album by Ghost
Me too! Meliora and Opus switched since I filmed this haha
Nice King Diamond & Mercyful Fate shirt collection I loved listening to King Diamond & Mercyful Fate
Yo they look amazing man, the print looks fantastic
Frank is the homie🤘
Did you just say Terror meh.... wtf lol
Just didn't hit me that time!
Excelente tshirts ,saludos desde Panamá City 🇵🇦
@@djkpps right on! Thanks man 🤘
the logo 2019 and the hammer shirt are my fav out of these
They're truly great designs
Very cool! On which website did you buy the VIOLENCE UNIMAGINED shirt?
I got it from their Psycho Vegas show, so no website involved! Their site for Kings Of Road Merch has the best/official stuff tho
Afew weeks away...You coming again?
I wish! Im going to see Rammstein in the Netherlands this year and that's gonna be my trip for the year 🤘
Heading there next month. Do they allow in’s and outs? I know you mentioned carrying merch in a draw string the other video. Thanks
I believe they did before 5pm! They had an outside area to smoking and eating and whatnot, but I'd definitely recommend bringing bag
Elias is the fucking man! Great interview dude! 🤘
Did they have a coat check or something? (To leave the merch while you are at shows?)
I'm sure they did, but I honestly can't remember. I ended up carrying things in a drawstring backpack if I remember correctly. I would check the rave FAQ for sure!
I assume your going To MMF again this year since some of these bands are playing Autopsy and Possessed?
I want to but unfortunately it doesn't fit in the budget this year. I did see Possessed late last year tho and I'll see Rammstein in June (thus the limited budget haha)
Excellent interview, long live Denver Metal 🔥
Hell Yeah!! Great Interview., Frank is a standup dude and I’m stoked he’s part of the Denver Metal scene 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks so much, Manny 🤘 All the same, bro.
Awesome pickups man! That Deceased shirt is insanely cool!
Yeah dude, great merch this year. And Deceased... were incredible! Merch and show was killer
Are they true to size if I buy them from the rockabilia website
I don't trust Rockabilia for anything. They do official US merch through NightShift and half of my COF tees are from there
What about probity merch? I found alot of dope Cradle of filth merch on there, especially the decadence is a virtue shirt, but i wanna know if its legit. @austinsultimatemetalmadness
Hm, I'm not sure. I haven't heard of that one before. Here's a link to their metal archives page though. It shows all the official and unofficial merchandise for Cradle. www.metal-archives.com/bands/Cradle_of_Filth/24
They have the decadence is a virtue t shirt on there, and i bought it. It only sucks because they dont provide tracking info upon purchase @austinsultimatemetalmadness
I went in 98!
Jealous! What a great lineup. Seeing Death, Mortician, and Mercyful Fate in one festival is insane
@@austinsultimatemetalmadness It was stacked for sure. I know it’s just second year Jasta is doing it, but he needs some exclusives(I.e. Dismember at MDF). Not knocking Jasta though because it takes time and money to get stuff rolling.
Hey man what song you used in the background?
It's a track off of a CD I found called "Oktoberfest Favorite German Beergarden Songs Vol.2," but im not entirely sure which song it is. The disc is made up of medleys. Worth a listen tho!
@@austinsultimatemetalmadness ok thx man🔥
Awesome choices! Hope you get the chance to see everyone on your list. For me, I still NEED to see Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Alice In Chains, Macabre, and Death To All really bad!
I got to see Macabre at the Milwaukee metal fest and they did not disappoint, same with Death To All. I hope you get to see those ones, especially NIN, who knows when they'll play again
Dude seeing Rammstein would be an epic concert to see in Denver, I really really want to see Dragged into sunlight but they're going to be playing at Maryland's deathfest next year andy budget is super low lmao
I'm having the sam issue haha. Nunslaughter did a one off last year in Denver and I just want more bands to do the same if they can't tour
thank you
Thanks for putting on a killer show! Can't wait for the new song to come out.
@@austinsultimatemetalmadness glad you liked it and yeah new record is good we are happy the way it turned out
Hi can you tell me the type of material or brand of the shirt and who prints them? I have some motor head shirts they are the softest ones I have and the logos are really soft! Can you tell me what style of printing is used?
Most of mine are screen printed, but quality always changes with that method. The most common shirt I've got is Gildan, which is probably the best from my experience.
U got the vibes, Sir!
Thanks for watching man! Can't wait for the new album
@@austinsultimatemetalmadness Mr rutan kicks ass! Played a show with him in my hometown, when he was part of hate eternal 👌
This song was such a banger, beyond groovy and heavy af.
It's super sick, very pumped for the record!
If this is an indication of how the album is gonna sound this is gonna be better than violence unimagined
Yeah, I definitely think that Rutan is coming into his own as an official member of the band, super pumped for it
Killer song 🔥🔥🔥🔥🖤☠🧟♂️
Awesome song 🤘 🤘 🤘 spinning it alot 😎 brutal and cool reaction 👌
Thanks man! Can't wait for the album
It’s my favorite part too 🤘🏻🤘🏻
It's so rad, thanks for watching!
you had my exact reactions LMAO also didnt know it was the 30th anniversary of ITP so thanks
Yeah dude, it was a death metal day
thanks
I might have missed this, watching kinda absent-minded, but have you seen Fear Factory there? If so, how did it sound with the new vocalist?
I didn't't see Fear Factory, I opted to watch Frozen Soul and Jungle Rot instead, but I heard that the new guy killed it from others who went!
Awesome! Well done.
Bro! Sick! I wanted to go to this so bad. I'm in CA, and our "festivals" are wack. Europe and South America rules. Luckily locally im going to Havok and Toxic Holocaust! Cheers!
Oh yeah, we're behind in the festival department for sure. I'm glad Havok are finally going on tour again, that'll be awesome! Thanks for watching 🤘
badass 🔥🔥
Thanks for coming out!!
You organized a hell of a weekend, thanks for all the hard work!
I thought that fest died
Luckily it's back! Jamey Jasta revived it from the grave
It was a good time!
It was awesome! Who was your favorite band to see?
@@austinsultimatemetalmadness Jasta Pre Party Jam, Novembers Doom, Pissing Razors, Obituary and Lamb of God
Nice Setlist!
Awesome!!! My only MMF Travelled from west coast in 97...Venom and Cradle of Filth were the headliners 🤘🤘🤘
Ohhh that sounds like a hell of a show. Cradle hot off of Dusk? To dream! Hopefully you can come back next year 'cause this year was great. Thanks for watching man 🤘
@@austinsultimatemetalmadness I'll only make another trip if Triptycon is on the bill. I'm a big Celtic Frost fan😁😁😁
I like John Bush better haha...I love NFL awesome...efilnikufesin...
I'm Midnight obsessed...I've seen them maybe 10 times...all in my city of Chicago.
Me too, man. I've seen them 5 times, but I hope to get up there soon. Are you going to see them play with Danzig in September?
Midnight rules...and of course Motorhead is also awesome...or was...but lives forever on tape
I planned on going but had car issues, went in 97-98, gonna be back in 2024 for sure.
Man, sorry you couldn't make it, but 97-98 sounds like a great time. The lineups for those years were INSANE. 2024 will kick ass as MKE always does. Thanks for watching and maybe I'll see you at the next one 🤘
@@austinsultimatemetalmadness I have known Jamey Jasta since 1994, and I was supposed to be a 3 day vendor also, so a bummer I missed seeing him, also.
Did you get to meet J-Dawg of Hell's headbangers?
I sure did. We had a great conversation on Saturday and he answered all my dumb questions
As someone who lives in Milwaukee & who got to go to this, I had an absolute blast. The only complaint I have is that instead of having them rescan your tickets is to give people wrist bands so they know who already has a ticket. Next year is gonna be nuts.
I agree, I definitely think wristbands would've been way better. It was a lot of fun tho, thanks for watching man 🤘
Sounds like an awesome time. Glad you had fun, man!
Thanks man! It was definitely a great time 🤘
