You can play on Xemu but the water effects lag the games so half of the stages are unplayable online. Although, I do recommend playing on Original Hardware as the experience is very fun!
Is this on native hardware or something? Never new DOA2U's online was actually functional somehow these days.
Native hardware using Insignia! It basically resurrected the online servers for original hardware and it's pretty easy to get setup at insignia.live
@mutedknightfgc Even if you don't care for DOA2U as much there's also a bunch of other online games like Halo 2, Battlefront 2, PSO, and many more via the insignia service!

Truly nostalgic indeed. I wish that Soul Calibur and Tekken went back to much smaller and less flashier combos. And stuff like this is rewarded to players who know the ins and outs of the game, rather then spending a couple of minutes in training mode and suddenly reaching Qudans level of high performance.
