Under normal use the scupper holes started to leak at the boundary between the upper and lower halves of the hull. Just my experience, not very durable.

Wow, even though I wouldn't do this to my Lynx, I've always thought they were a lot stronger than most people have talked about in their videos. When initially considering the Lynx I came across a lot of videos of people indicating that you need to baby this boat. I don't baby my equipment. I found it hard to believe that Hobie would make a kayak that you needed to baby. You proved that this kayak does not have to be coddled like a newborn.

It's tough. It is built the same way as their fiberglass surf boards but with a final layer of vacuum formed plastic to protect the fiberglass. Not sure how well internally the foam core and fiberglass layers will like being smashed in from drops. Likely why it sounded like debris in a plastic bucket in the end. I have the strong, but easily scratched, yellow Hobie Eclipse pedal board, and the Lynx. Internally they are the same. On the upside, fiberglass and foam construction is super easy to fill and repair.

For sale: Brand new Hobie lynx, never seen water. Only sat on it to see if it fits, excellent condition. $2000ono.

What's more annoying about the ridiculous price increases for a piece of floating plastic, is the nonsensical droning music in the background that the speaker has to talk over. The music does not make a better kayak, nor does it make you a better video announcer, or more dramatic.

*Ample storage•ᴥ•>**share4.photo/HKayak?ξ53** Water bottle holder on front worked decently and so did the paddle holder for dry storage (tends to come loose while being carried or moved quickly also do not use paddle holder while on the water). Rear compartment is kind of a joke to open while on the water unless you can turn totally around, but is really nice if you are with people who can paddle up to you for access or if you go to shore. The rear compartment has a rubber/foam seal around it and is secured by bungee cables arranged in a star pattern that hook onto the plastic hooks on each side. However its really iffy on actually sealing and more often than not tends to hold well because of the bungee alone. The shape of the plastic around the lid make it really easy to just sit on top of the hole instead of sealing and covering it. It will not stop water if you flip even if it is secured properly, but it keeps the compartment very dry while just floating/paddling even if light rapids and with spray.*
