Had the 240i with the b58 masterpiece of an engine, got it pure turbod running 587bhp but made the mistake of not getting a lsd and ended up writing it off in the wet! Now got 335d xdrive 437bhp 856nm which is better all round 86k trouble free miles

Seems to be some BMW experts in these comments. I’m in the uk looking at a 523i, it’s a 2011 plate petrol. It says 3.0 litre 204bhp engine. But what engine code would this be running? And is it a good strong reliable engine? This particular car is an auto too, again is the auto box strong? Any issues? It would be my first automatic car. Been driving manuals since I’ve passed my driving test 23 years ago, just getting abit lazy now, whenever I drive my dads automatic car, I think it’s amazing not having to use a clutch, it’s so easy, especially in traffic and hill starts etc 😁

I have the 2009 facelift e81 116i,2,0L n43b20a 122HP,from what i understand its the same engine as the 120i just detuned is there any way u can tune the engine back to 170hp like the 120i by putting the 120i parts or smth?

Putting more power in a m140i isn't a good thing, just becomes more unstable!

To be honest, I like BMW, the way the car drives and looks but inside it looks sooooo simple and boring in base trims. For example these seats looks like a joke. So flat and stock, looks like that VW Golf has waaaay better looking seats. Bmw does offer better seats but off course if you pay more. Same with the steering wheel and many extras that they charge you additionaly. To put it the together, in order for the interior to look good, you need to spend a fortune when buying a car, otherwise iy will look too simple and boring.
