    Nice videos. I find it interesting that you chose not to use sawhorses, or any sort of platform in early stages. Even a stump or two would work as primitive platforms to get your work off the ground.

    Your designs ideas are great. Since you are good at templating, could you have used a router to save yourself some sanding. Also if you can get a CNC like Xcarve etc... you could make toys with complex designs.

    • @MSC-MakeSthCool
      @MSC-MakeSthCool 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate, you definitely said what I thought. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Some parts are too small to cut and I need to do a lot of sanding work as you said. How I wish I had a CNC. I would consider buying one if I have more projects like this to do.

    Nice job! I made Paul Seller's bench some years ago without using power tools, so I know what an education that can be. I think I may have seen some of Mr. Sellers teaching in your techniques. I'm glad you toughed it out! I liked your angle-iron clamps. Like you, I also made my first bench with tall aprons and a 5+ inch top. I won't do that again because the aprons make a lot of your clamps useless, especially quick clamps, and the thick top makes hold fasts less effective. Also, that thick top made it necessary for me to dig a huge hole for my tall vice, just as you did. The new bench I'm just starting on is based on Rex Krueger's knock down bench, as I want to be able to easily disassemble it, and I need it to be small enough to work as an outfeed table behind my table saw. Nice job getting your boy involved. I hope your bench gives you many years of loving service!

      Hi Tom, thank you for your review. I'm a big fan of Paul Seller, really learnt a lot from him. It was hard to do it without power tools, but it improved my skills. I'm glad now I can do more projects with it and with my little apprentice ;)
