Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Spending time with your son and doing something fun/productive like biking, win win.
Welp. Looks like i need a new grill haha. I've been eyeballing this one. And they came out with the wifi version. Thanks for the video. Looks delicious!
@@thatoneguy9122 Thanks for watching, it's a good one!
Do you have any issues with your pit boss catching fire while you’re smoking? I have an Oklahoma Joes Rider DLX 1200 pellet grill and have had nothing but issues with it since I bought it.
Ooff 😯 No, no issues with 🔥 I do clean it every 2-3 cooks get out all the ash, and any grease that might have made it past the heat diffuser.
I’m looking at getting a smoker and seeing as you’re in a cold climate area. How does the Savannah do during the winter?
@@ericperkins6551 Thanks for watching, it actually did really well. I'll admit I mostly kept it out of the wind and when it got really cold, I threw an old fleece blanket over it to help it out a little, but otherwise it's never let me down!
TH-cam recommended this video & your content looks like my speed, so I subscribed. I am your neighbor to the south in Missouri.👍 I picked up one of these carbines on a whim because of how much cheaper 9mm is to shoot.🤷♂ The rabbit hole this gun started...🤣🤣🤣 A few months later, while in a tool store I've never been in, I spotted the the Ruger PC Charger...🤔interesting.... So now I also have a braced Ruger PC Charger as well.👊 Fast forward to today, I have forgotten all about saving money on ammo and started on 10mm carbines and sub guns. I recently bought a CMMG Banshee in 10mm and I expect to have the Ruger LC Charger in 10mm by the end of the month.😁 As I am sure you have discovered, these PCC's and sub guns eat ammo like an unsupervised 5 year old does M&M's. I dug my reloading supplies out of my dad's attic last week so I can afford to shoot them.🤣🤣🤣 Diet soda works better with Mentos and shooting, it's not sticky.🫡
Hey Buddy Thanks for watching and for the sub, I took a look at your channel and I'm subbing back. You're spot on with how easy it is to blow through ammo with these things but they're just so much fun! CMMG has caught my eye with a few of their products I just have yet to pick anything up from them yet. Happy shooting! 🎯
Thanks for the review. I was looking into buying the backpacker model Ruger PC. I have been seeing many people having issues with the extractor. It doesn't look like you have had any problems so far. But, I was hoping Ruger might fix the issue from the factory. Have you heard anything about that?
@@Timpala44 Hey thanks for watching and yes, I've heard of the extractor issues too, but I haven't seen any thus far and really enjoy shooting mine!
Ive had the same chassis model bought it bout 5 or 6 yaers ago when ruger first cam out with that AR style model since ive had it i haven't put a 100 rnds on it yet i change to glock magazine right out the box i put a red dot and light on it plus a four grip handle on it. The gun shoots very well no issues haven't oil it yet it came oil up good already never clean it because i haven't shout it in a while, the gun over all seems to be a good gun everything is sold on it, just one flaw its a bit too heavy i wish they would have made it lighter. Its been a few years now since it been out i was hoping ruger would've came out with a new generation model out by now. The pc charger barrel will work with the chasis model stock i have freinds that have the pc charger we switch barrel all the time i dont know if ruger will sell a pc charger barrel only but they fit with each other perfectly.
I gotta get a Trek road bike along with my marlin 5
Can't figure out how to put the front shelf on. Box didn't come with directions
Do you have the shelf brackets mounted to the legs? I can't remember if those came pre-mounted? Bit essentially the shelf should bolts to the two brackets. I took a picture but unfortunately I can't post it in the comments.
I think your groupings would improve if you used your support hand on the barrel while shooting. You can watch it slide while you shoot. Just more stable overall would help
I want one of these. I live in your neighboring state, Illinois. I can't legally buy one now with the new firearms laws A/O Jan 2023. Have you heard about the DRAMATIC decrease in gun crimes in Chicago since the new laws went into effect? Yeah, neither have I. LOLOL

I like mine - a bit heavy, but shoots well.
Agree 💯
Fellow ginger bearded Ruger PCC 19122 owner. Love mine, I have not had good luck with 115gr factory ammo, have had some ftf issues. My reloads on the other hand shoots like a dream. Great gun for the price.
@@Wagenmeister Brothers in beards and brothers in arms! 🍻😆 Good to hear you got it running with the reloads, hopefully saves you a few bucks over factory amo too! 👍
I like the stock, definitely prefer it over the MagPul Backpacker. Is that stock kit available separately?
@@thenoneckpeoplerepresentat8074 yeah looks like Magpul still offers it 👍
Solid video on one of my favorite PCC’s. Another model to consider for folks looking is the charger, after having my rifle for a year now I’m really considering picking one up.
@@levimaltba5478 From the videos I've seen, folks seem to be pretty happy with their chargers too!
Just bought one for my .300 blackout. midway USA for $185 tax and shipping included
Send the link brother
I run mine with the Romeo 5 and the MAGPUL backpacker stock. MAGPUL stock shaves some weight off and improves point of balance.
@@josephlipnickas8148 I do like the Magpul backpacker configuration. For me then it'd become a question of acquiring the just the Magpul furniture or 2nd carbine 🤔
5.11 is a rip off considering their gear is made in China. I have the NC STAR back pack and it’s holding up well. Cost is $63 on eBay.

Great video 👍🏻
How do you change the target temp on p settings?
P or pause settings you almost have to think of as a different mode. Bummers Bar-B-Q actually did a good video explanation. Essentially your target temp the smoker is feeding pellets to maintain the selected cooking temp. P settings are more like custom smoking the lower the P setting the less time between pellet feedings, less smoke and higher cooking temp, the higher P setting, the more time between feedings, allowing pellets to smolder more and generate more smoke. Ambient outdoor temp is going to be more of a factor in smoke mode /P setting. He did a great job showing a few different P settings and what temp the smoker ran at on each setting. Hope this helps & happy smoking!!
Ice body armor🇬🇧

Nice range set up, teaching that kid right!
Pretty sure my grandparents owned a house on Buxton near Simpson college in Indianola in the 1950's. Grandpa worked on family farm and eventually got that house and ran a filling station in town somewhere. Good to see you out with your son and enjoying family. I haven't been back there in probably 20 years, I always wondered if the little soda place on the corner downtown still serves a Green River (I think that's what it was called).
It's a cool little town we certainly enjoy it, and your thinking of Corner Sundry it's still here, still serving Green Rivers as far as I know 😊
@@BrandoninIowa1776 that's awesome! and yes Corner Sundry is the place I was thinking of that had the Green Rivers my grandpa ordered us when we were kids. I'll have to ask my parents what the exact address was of the house on Buxton. Maybe I can persuade you and your son to do a ride on camera that shows what it looks like now 60+ years later!
@@MinnoFight Indeed that'd be neat, I'd be happy to
Having shot the S&W FPC and owning a good number of different Ruger's, I think you made a good choice.
I meant to say nice build “” i bought the same scope about 2 months ago!! I haven’t had the chance to zero it yet !! I wish I could go to an outdoor range!! I already shoot my Ar 15 at an indoor range but it’s not the same!!
I hear ya man, make outdoor ranges great again!😎 It's a sweet little scope for sure feel free to let me know what you think after you get a chance to shoot with it.
Nice
It does look cool
Thanks Buddy 👍
Science 👍
When I was buying the paper plates, I thought 🤔 no way this is gonna work. But I did see 2 other videos claiming 9mm stopped in under 200 🤷 A fun day at the range none the less 👍
Right on brother. Absolutely amazing gun. Where did you get that nifty Adidas bag. Cheers mate.
Appreciate the support! Funny story about the bag is it's actually my wife's I just snagged it for the vid 🤣, she ordered off Amazon a while back.
Hate videos that are all talk and no hunt...
Fair, got a new camera hoping to catch some action this year
Looks good, FYI... Try not to let your meat touch each other also on the left side of your smoker there is a small hole to pass your probe through so you don't crimp your wire. Just thought I'd let you know.
Thank you sir! I don't remember why I didn't use the hole for the probe, probably just thinking about filming everything 🤷 LOL
Thanks for sharing. Everything looks good.
looks fine but i would recommend putting your fat trimming in the smoker to render then pour it over the brisket when you wrap it .....also place an aluminum pan under your brisket this will make clean up much easier and will greatly extend the life of your grill also help prevent grease fires if you user want to use the flame broiler
Appreciate the feedback, thanks for watching!
I just bought the pitboss Savannah and put it together. I will be using it tomorrow and I’m wondering does this smoker connect to the pitboss app and can I control it from my phone?
Unfortunately no, that's like the one feature it lacks. As I understand you can order one with that feature for like 150 clams I haven't found it inconvenient enough to mess with it. Good luck on the 1st cook, the things are awesome!
@@BrandoninIowa1776 I’ve been using a offset stick burner for 3 years and loved it but hated splitting wood and the price of wood and charcoal was insane! Was hesitant to get a pellet smoker bc I’ve heard the flavor doesn’t compare. Now that I did my first cook on my pitboss I can 💯 say I can’t taste any difference. I was shocked by how much smoke flavor the baby back ribs had and absolutely love the smoker 🤘🏻
@@shawnmorris2420 Nice! They're so convenient you're going to make so much good food on it!

What do you like to shoot?
Fun. My son is only 3 but I hope to ride with him in ragbria in 7-8 years.
It's something else, hope you guys do!
How old would you suggest a child be for ragbria? My son is only 3 so I have a few years still to wait. Lol
Yeah well my son was 12 last year and for the most part was a champ. I thought the hardest parts were keeping him fed and hydrated. He's a little picky so finding him something to eat was a challenge at times and keeping him drinking when he didn't think he needed to. He also had some fear of coming in last 🤣 so he didn't like to hang around long at stops . Overall though take long rides with your kid, 20 mile minimums evaluate how they do? Then ask can they do 3-4 of those in a day, i.e. riding from town to town along RAGBRAI. Thank for watching, hope this helps!
I bought a blemished upper and the delivery guy left it in my fence with my dog so I came home to my dog happily trotting around the yard with a 11.5 upper in his mouth like a toy lol still works great to this day
🤣 that's hilarious! I have some neighbors that would probably have been freaked out by that sight 🤣🤣
All good stuff! Nice review.
Thank you!! So cool to see a comment from @roadtrippingpt as you both were an inspiration to take the plunge last year. Here's to a little nicer weather for RAGBRAI LI !!
