This has really helped me today. My son's Mk1 got hit on the left side wheel and I've got the replace the carrier and hub assembly.
I did mine but I wasn't sure about the jets....stage one and 2
Hi Sipho. you can look at the size of the jets. they are labled on the jets itself. the larger jet is for stage 2
yo buddy what engine is in this golf?
A 1.6 model EM
Thanks now I see where I was making a mistake
must subscribe. please dont stop uploading.
Thanks Boet for sharing this tutorial !!! Most appreciated 👍👍
Looks very similar to what's in my polo 86. Doesn't look too much more advanced than the two stroke engines I'm comfortable working on. I'll give it a go - thanks for giving me the confidence.
Thanks for the videos it helps
Hey Kyle can you tell me where you bought your bearing removal kit and the price please guy Will be much appreciated
Dope video bro! Helped me fix my carb. Subbed
Dope vid bud... Do you know if this kit works on a pirate carb as well?
I notice that you did not replace the needle and seat that comes in the kit, any reason why not?
Hi. I re used the current ones as I did not have any issues with it
@@diycustomssa6699 Hi. Thank you for your repIy. I did my carb over the weekend and found that about half the components were not same spec or completely different e.g. jet sizes. I specifically asked for the 1300 golf and was sold the kit by Goldwagen.
@@petebuttons210 just to be 100% sure. I took my carb with so they could match the part number. Requested an 1800 carb kit which is 95% the same to the 1600 carb. I havent used a few of the parts in the kit, as i just wanted to service the main components that wear over time
Hi Man Nice vídeo Please share the specs of your carb Or, how to see my Carb specs so i can bauy the correct carb kit?
hi hw u man i need some help wit my carb

Ce carburator as putea pune pe un golf 2 1.3 benzina?
Can anyone tell me how much kilometers a 1.3 carb with a fuel injection head should get out of a full tank?
Hi the video was really helpful so I opened up my carb the second stage looked a bit rusty but when I rev it by hand the second stage opens like a charm however when I rev it from the inside the second stage opens by a millimeter... so hence I thought it was my cable but then again the cable is fresh and whenever I adjust it with circlips/retainer clips it over revs gradually when ever at a stop or in neutral please help I've lost all hope
@@diycustomssa6699 the arm can go a bit further while paddle is flat
Oh God can this shitty music just stop
Howzit, nice explanation, thankz
Hi, can you make a video of the vacuum hoses. I have a 1.6 Auto and I don't know where the vaccum pneumatic temp valve pipes go, your golf is similar?
Hi there. Could you perhaps send me a pic over insta so that i can have a look at which hoses you are talking about. Becuase i am only aware of the ones on the carburator, distributor and break booster
i cant find any of your social media platforms like Instagram or Facebook to contact you
Just a very very important note.... When you buy the carb kit, make sure that the air jet thread is the same. Just bought a kit, turned out my carb has imperial thread and the kits air jet screws are metric.... Once you open that packet, you can't return
Thanks for the tip. Will add it into the description
Most comprehensive and step by step video on this Carb. Much appreciated 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Is it possible to get rid of rust (I think it's rust) on the brake disk?
Yes and no. If its on the mating surface where the pads grip to then the rust will be removed on its own. If its anywhere else on the disc then just leave it. Wont cause any issues
Bought the exact same kit but it came with 100 upper stage 1 and no upper stage 2 jet...also I have noticed my accelerator is much harder after switching to the diaphragm included in the kit...is this normal?
How do you restore the chrome part of the bumper
If only I had watched this today when I did my ks2 lol...ive put the jets wrong and been wondering why it's been going so badly...tomorrow I will redo it by following this video
Im glad that my video will be doing good for your rebuild. Let me know how it goes
Very Nice! .. Attention to detail... Love the music too. :)
Awsome video buddy thank you
How do I get into contact with you
Can message me on ig at kyle_mk1gls all lower caps.
@@diycustomssa6699 thanks for sharing How do I set the float lever?
Its a simple process but not easy to explain in words. U basically blow into the fuel inlet of the carb, move the float so that it is parallel with the base. If the it doesnt close off when the float is in that position, you then need to remove the adjuster and bend it abit until you get the proper level
@@diycustomssa6699 thanks I will do so.. Appreciate
How do I know which carburettor is for 1.8 golf?
Main differences would be jet sizes.
1.6 and 1.8 has the same size jets. Just the enrichment valve setting is different
Jet Sizes plus its all actually the same K2 Carbs especially on mk1 just the jet sizes that are bigger
Great tutorial...
Kwaai! Keep them coming. The videos, I mean
Dankie broe🙏🏼
Well Done, enjoyed the presentation, Maybe just a DIY TIP at the end showcasing yourself(face) would be better than perfect and an intro to what you tackling. Keep this going.... All Applause 👏 👋👋
