EATING PILLS IS A BEHAVIOR!
There are times when we may need to medicate our dogs and pills can be yucky and get stuck on tongues. It is important to train pill taking when you don’t need it. I love using these vegan capsules when I train:
How did we start? Hand feeding. Then we mixed textures, then added soft wrapped empty capsule and now Beefy takes his pills with just a little coconut oil to prevent getting stuck.

Cooperative Care: Importance of Stairs
มุมมอง 494 หลายเดือนก่อน
One often forgotten thing to train is stairs and ramps. They are not only handy for our senior dogs, but great for human emergencies. Recently I injured my back and cannot lift my dog. These stairs make it so I can take him to his appointments safely. We started with flat ramps and me guiding him on his harness over that and small step ups (like phonebooks taped together if you don’t have sit b...

Beefy Poop Eating

This is after a little work with marking and rewarding Beefy finding a wonderful deer poop treasure. Finding it is rewarded with a treat and then we further reward with movement away (this can be running, jogging, social play, whatever your pup enjoys or a treat involved game moving away from the poop). Do not expect this level right off the bat. You are likely to need to reward a mouthful of p...
Hiding Medications and "Icky" Healing Herbs in Food for Rabbits

Momentum Pill Feed: Teach Your Cat or Dog To Eat Up Pills
มุมมอง 913 ปีที่แล้ว
Start by putting small dabs of food on your fingers (please only do this with pets that are comfortable and relaxed licking and eating food from hand). Keep a fast pace of presenting the next piece of food be it by presenting a dab of food in the video or adding food to one hand. After the pet is eagerly awaiting the next "dose" of food you can then add the pill about 3-4 presentations in. This...

Honestly that sounds like something else going on, she needs a vet there could be infection, stones, or sludge. Gas drops for kids are ok (check for fake sweeteners like sorbitol)

Are you able to get to the vet? That is what needs to happen. This link may help too. Simethicone is a common over the counter treatment, often vets prescribe specific pain medications and you can keep your rabbit on a heat pad on low but you must make sure the heat pad is wrapped in a towel so it doesn't burn them.

Hey there @cfc1232 I am sorry I am just now seeing this. Are you on Facebook? If so I would ask in House Rabbit Society and there is also Exotic Pet Vet Corner. I usually try and address pain (maybe a warm pad?) and massage and giving sips of fluid, you can make a mush to syringe feed but if there is a blockage that can be dangerous. You can use gas drops (make sure no weird ingredients). www.elwoodvet.net/news/2018/1/29/bunny-bellies-managing-gut-stasis I am not sure if there is anything rabbit safe in your country to give. We use meloxicam here and that is something available to dogs (not sure if you have a dog vet)

Was bunny too hot? I just lost my LadyBug bunny on Friday due to heat stroke. We were returning from a trip, & didn't have an air-conditioned place to wait for the public transportation. A few kind souls helped us along the way to cool her down, & she held on for me until we got back to where we've been staying. Then she gave up and left me after some struggle. Usually she likes to stay in and lay flat on the cold floor. She'll go outside on the back to use her litter box, and cannot stay out there if it's warm. She'll stay out early in the morning and late at night around 9p.m is when she likes to go outside. I have to force her in the day to go outside to use the litter box, or if I have to leave. She stopped using the litter box on the inside and preferred going outside. When I put a folded blanket for her to enjoy some soft cushyness, she kicked it out of the way. So, I think this bunny might be overheated with all those blankies too.

So sorry to hear about your bun! For this bun: No. This video was uploaded to help his veterinary team track presenting symptoms in near real time so he could be under my monitoring 24/7. This was likely due to a fluke head trauma (active bunny could have slipped and hit his head). My buns have access to fully cooled home but a great reminder to run the AC before any animals get transported. We had an issue with this with a dog that had to go to the vet and we didnt have time to cool the vehicle first. Thankfully Val is fully recovered and back in with his bunny family and back to being super cute and happy <3

This video was made so that his veterinary team could monitor his progression, he was home given my vet med experience and ability to monitor him 24/7. So again, to be clear, this animal was under veterinary care and this link not only provided help for others BUT a way for his veterinary team to monitor round the clock as we were having file share issues. They were able to refresh the channel and see this nearly immediately and review his case presentation. I appreciate your passion for animals but this rabbit due to swift action AND regular monitoring and video sharing AND the supervised veterinary care has made a FULL recovery. So please feel free to ask questions but perhaps a great learning experience for you.

he is recovered now and even working towards binkies! He is on my TH-cam @totalpetcarellc on IG @totalpetnc on FB and so thankful the wonderful Dr's at NC State supported us to help him heal. I posted this video so that his team could have access to every video of every event while he was in home care <3
