The Sacramento State Choirs have employed a long-standing tradition of choral excellence and leadership in the greater-Sacramentan region. In 2018, Dr. Andrew Kreckmann was named Director of Choral Activities, following the prolific thirty-three year career of Dr. Donald Kendrick. Over the last five years, Dr. Kreckmann successfully navigated the unprecedented waters of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as two horrific wildfire seasons.

In the Fall of 2021, we proudly welcomed Dr. Brett Judson to the choral team as the conductor of Choral Union. My lofty year-long goal was to go from one ‘parking-garage choir’ & one Zoom-based “choir” to a performative masterwork, based on collaboration and adaptability.

This channel is intended to highlight and showcase the resilience and dedication of the choral singers at Sac State, who so often heard the following words - “It’s not about you, it’s not about me. It’s about the music…it’s always about the music.”
