D.O.G.E. v USDA (WHAT CHANGES WILL THEY RECOMMEND AND HOW WILL IT IMPACT FARMERS)
I've watched Elon Musk for years and how he thinks about efficiencies in business. These are some of my thoughts on how DOGE (The Department Of Government Efficiency) might recommend changing the USDA and how these changes might impact those of us who farm.

    There are going to have to be some sacred cows slaughtered including farm subsidies. The sad truth is that American farmers are viewed with fondness and nostalgia and they do work hard. But if they can't make it like any other business, they don't deserve to stay in business. The free market would balance. Paying farmers not to farm (CRP, etc.), paying fat people to eat (SNAP) are just a couple of examples of completely unsustainable practices. This country is going to collapse under the weight of these deficits.

    Nice truck. I have a similar truck and the same bed. Ended up building out a packout system for tool storage in the rear passenger side of the truck cab that still allows me to use the 60 side of the 60/40 rear bench for passengers. I have a slip tank against the headache rack and a compressor on a pallet similar to your fuel tank. I've been pondering the idea of mounting the compressor above the slip tank so it's with me all the time. We need most of the deck to haul seed. I think adding an inverter to charge drill batteries would be ideal as well. Good video thanks for sharing.

      @gblonde2331 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @SIHayFarmer my tank is actually smaller it's only 60g I find that's enough fuel to keep a tractor going for half a day or so but I also have a much larger one on a skid as well for when we need more capacity. We have 2 farm yards with fuel on site so most fueling is done at the farm. This smaller tank was a compromise so we can still but 2 skids or proboxes of seed on the deck. There is enough room on each side of the tank to store a 5gal can of def on each side for emergencies. I will make a tiktok of my setup and send you the link

    • @SIHayFarmer
      @SIHayFarmer 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @gblonde2331 we actually went even smaller in the updated bed. On ly 40 gallon. Enough to keep rolling, but fit between air compressor and headache rack.

    Nice truck and you talk interestingly about it and the tools. At the beginning of the film, you very diplomatically avoided potential discussions about what solutions were more optimal ;-) I have already watched hundreds of videos about service trucks, flatbets, contractors bodies, combos and various DIYs and I noticed one thing: no one installs transfer tanks under the flatbet - where the and usually little used toolboxes are installed ;-). I mean round tanks like in the semi. This would separate the fuel part from the working part on the flatbet. One such barrel has a capacity of several dozen gallons and at least two can be mounted - one on each side. I don't know why people don't do that.

    • @SIHayFarmer
