No idea what you're talking about nerfed movement but in tekken 7, korean back dashing felt like being stuck in mud. I didn't notice anything different with KBD in tekken 8 but I do feel it is faster. Especially normal backdashing is much faster. Also that hwoarang clip where he got you even though you were +2 on heat, my guy you fucking MOVED towards him after you activated heat. It looked like you were trying to forward dash or something. This whole video is just strange and I cannot take it seriously if you're still in teal ranks in TEKKEN 7.

Early ranks are wild, just a barrage of arms and legs and it actually works lol. Instead of trying to match that energy though, you either gotta sit back, let them whiff and launch tf out of them. Or start slowing them down with jabs and mids etc. and make them actually start blocking, then you go run them over because if you are actually a better player than them but you struggle to defend against them, you can almost bet that they are going to struggle even harder trying to defend against you xd or something like that

I understand if you aren't fond of the game anymoree, I also think this rushdown super aggressive style, even to watch it is just cancerous and a chaotic mess. But at the same time those examples you gave were still just new players that don't know how to actually play the game and frame data so naturally they are just here to mash. Regardless I still agree with your argument about the game's mechanics limiting defensive options and overtuned aggression

If they mash then you just counter em lmao. Not everyone else play good or great, that's a reality we have to accept. It's a game where everyone can start. Turtling is boring. Taking risk is what makes exciting Tekken. Plus we like other to play the game don't be a grumpy gatekeeping *ss. 😂😂

If button mashing is giving you an issue then what you need to learn is frames. If you know your frames, button mashing will never bother you.

To be fair alot if the time when people start off in fighting games they mash and tekken 8 got a lot of people who haven't played fighting games like that to play it.

Defense still wins in t8 but only to get your turn to go crazy. The higher level you go though, the game becomes more defensive again around mid blue. Most kishin dont mash, like half of raijin dont mash etc. Its still an aggro game though and picking a charbthat can deal quickly with top tiers is important bc no long sets to get comfortable in matchups

Bro I’m higher rank than u. Button mashing does not work in higher ranks. Adapting & knowing the moves/frames helps a lot. There is always an opening. U just need to hit the lab & see how to properly get by. Don’t mean that in an insulting way just realize it isn’t as hard to deal with mashers as u said.

If you try to play defensive youre asking to get rolled. T8 is so aggressive. Alot of times you get juggled into a combo and by the time you hit the ground you have like 1 hit left. I hate when I cant even get a chance to stand up after a massive air juggle. The heat mechanic make the combos much harder. Remember when Tekken had combos that required button combinations instead of directional keys presses. Almost Every single combo has down, forward, or directional down arrow inputs just to use combos.

After commenting on the first video, I saw the link for this one and out of curiosity I checked it out. I'm more confused than before. What is the point that you are trying to make buddy? What is your problem? Tekken is not fun because people mash too much in poop ranks? Because this is all I'm getting out of this. You spent like 15 hours total in the game, you have experienced only the super casual side of the game, and you're complaining about stuff that matters only at high ranks. This does not add up, it makes no sense. It's like if I play an online card game and complain about low ranks making mistakes or taking too long to make decisions. That's bound to happen at that level of play. So please, can you explain, clearly, what's the point of these two videos? What you're trying to say or accomplish by talking about tekken 8?

It's true that people mash much more in tekken 8, it's true that tekken 8 is a noob friendly game thanks to the rage art tech and the heat mechanic and it's true that people keep mashing even in blue ranks, but this means that ranking should be easier now if you know what you are doing. So yeah, you have to spend like 50 or so hours on ranked with ppl that have no idea how to play the game and don't respect you, but all you need to do is learn a few frame traps or flowcharts that bait these spammers and just use them to rank up. Once you get to the point where you start getting beaten because your opponent is simply better than you, u start labbing and improving and actually enjoying the game. Plus, come on, you are low green ranks and you already complain about mashers. My man, people have no idea what they are doing till red ranks, maybe even purple, what do you expect them to do? Studying frames? Really?

I quit Tekken after realizing I wanted way more mobility than what Tekken offers, Tekken isn't Tekken as it used to be In a game where I want a side step to work like Project Justice or Plasmasword, it's hard to play Tekken when Tekken doesn't even specify what tracks, hidden tracking moves Tekken is a mix up casino at point blank range, don't know the match up, too bad, get ready to play the casino, breath too slowly, too bad, there goes 80% of the health bar Doesn't feel fun to me to be walking on a tight rope while scissors are being thrown at me, I was so burnt out, and after taking a long break, I just don't even feel the slightest hint of nostalgia for the game now

The big problem with Mashen8 is that it rewards these mashers as well because characters either have cheap moves or they're straight up broken pachinko machines. I have never seen so many players have perfect spacing and predicting your prediction, never dropping a combo while always counterhitting you the INSTANT you press anything, not even in all the pro evo whatever tournaments, while of course being on wi-fi with 2 bars. Also the problem with pvp games in general nowadays is that people really, really want to win and will resort to cheating so they can get twitch famous or something. Personally, i only enjoy screwing with people and i've stopped playing ranked or trying.

tekken 8 is a game that really takes time to learn. tekken was already a hard game to get good at with all the game knowledge you need. tekken 8 takes everything that tekken had and turns things up to 11. it's a very stressful experience. I also started playing tekken with T7 and i had the same jarring experience when i first started playing online. i think playing this game online without being comfortable with the game's pace and mechanics is a recipe for disaster. you'll lose a bunch of matches not knowing what even happened only to ready up for another match. that's not the best way to get better at tekken. all fighting games are knowledge games, the more you know, the better off you'll be. something might look scary and impossible to defend, but when you take it to training mode, drill out the counterplay, you quickly realize it wasn't that scary. i do think they should have qm be infinate replays. you can't learn a matchup in 3 games, plus the ft2 set encourages winning over improvement. I don't have a problem with heat at all, and i think it adds an extra layer to the gameplay. my biggest issue is rage art. most of the ladder is carried by rage art because you can steal rounds away with a literal press of a button. it's one of those "get rewarded for getting your ass beat" mechanics that i despise. like people complain about "carrynov" when most players would be orange rank without rage art.

I typed a much longer comment, but I must have accidentally pressed something that deleted it, so I am not going to type it again because fuck that. But your opinion is valid, regardless of skill level. I will summarize what I said before. I quit Tekken 8 after being an avid Tekken fan and getting heavily into 7, and there was still a lot of dumb shit in 7 that weighed the game down but not comparable to the stupidity level in 8 in my opinion. I put a good amount of time into the game, and even after they buffed my main (Kazuya, because his combos were inconsistent as fuck), the game still felt janky and not fun. Not even that my character felt shit at that point (Keisuke I think did pretty well with Kazuya in recent tournaments), but the playstyle of having basically two rage arts now among all the other shit in heat is just kind of awful. The plus frames are ludicrous, and unbreakable/homing grabs are not good for the game. The character balancing is really bad. The developers getting upset at people criticizing the game is also not a good look while they are pushing the Tekken shop which is many things copy/pasted from 7 and having a 20-dollar pass on a base 70-dollar game at launch (comes with no DLC characters). I also never found the story particularly that much better than 7 (although hating the journalist narrator in 7 is totally fair because fuck that guy), I just think a lot of people just had a really intense waifu fetish with Reina and that blinded many people. Even though Kazuya was my favorite character, him randomly beating the shit out of Jin in the beginning of the game considering he lost to him in literally every game made no sense. Jin also didn't really feel like the same character anymore in terms of storytelling and much more like a shonen protagonist and his Tekken Bloodline equivalent. Plus, everyone forgiving Jin for Tekken 6 like it was nothing and acting like Kazuya was the antichrist killing an equivalent amount of people felt dumb. Having more of the characters included in the story is a good thing, but ultimately you realize their involvement in the story is just another person telling Jin that he needs to stop Kazuya, so they ultimately feel pointless. How Reina obtained the devil gene was really stupid and contrived. Heihachi just being announced to have not died at the ending of 7 kind of makes the actually fun fight between him and Kazuya feel really pointless, and I honestly wonder if Heihachi was always planned or if they did it because the game is hemorrhaging more players than anticipated. I did want Heihachi as a DLC character (I enjoy Mishimas) but having him still alive is just kind of dumb and now feels like no major character ever has the chance of dying. The Ghost AI feature had the potential to be amazing, but I kind of expected this to fail as this was a lofty expectation, and I don't know if we are at the technology yet to do something like that where it feels like fighting another real player (if such a thing can be replicated). And everyone can say that Tekken 8 has a similar trajectory as 7 which isn't entirely untrue, but Tekken 8 should have done better than Tekken 7 considering Tekken 7 was created after TT2 (almost killed the franchise, keep in mind) and 8 was done while 7 was beginning to experience much more success.

I have watched both videos from start to finish so I'll say this. Tekken has always been a button mashy game. People will tell you, if you just want to press some buttons with friends then Tekken is the best way to do that. Your main issue seems to be that people don't play like this in SF and Strive and your right, people don't because its really hard to do so. You don't have strings in those games like Tekken. In Tekken some strings are safe on block and can only be punished by side stepping/ducking so you cant just rely on blocking like in 2D games, you have a lot more options on defense. The long move list allows people to play like this. If you don't like it then there's nothing wrong with that and I understand you don't want to wait until the higher ranks for people to start playing more smartly so then just don't., play the game casually or whatever but this is how Tekken is. If I still didn't get the point of the video then I'm sorry but to me this is what I interpreted it to be about. Btw there's nothing "bad" about being a button masher. You can do that all you want but it'll only take you so far

okay I am just going to be that guy and tell you that you are just not good at the game and your opinions are somewhat right but for the completely wrong reasons. I really do NOT mean this as an insult, but that is the reason why you are losing to mashers and that is where your frustration with the game is rooted. Throughout that video, we don't see you KBD or WD or use anything advanced, while playing some of the most difficult characters(Akuma, Mishimas) and to top it all of you're not even green rank in the clips you show here. The only combo I see from you is at 7:45 where you follow up df2 with 3,1,4 > df1,2 > wgf, which is a start but could be a whole lot better. The reason you're having problems with mashers is because you literally do not know how to punish them and the proof is all over your video. Now, Tekken 8 does have problems imo like Heat Smash and Rage Art making neutral way too much of a guess, there is way too much superarmor imo, and defensiveness is starkly nerfed when compared to Tekken 7, where turtling and poking were much stronger. And guess what? People complained about Tekken 7 being too defensive and boring. So here we are.

How are you gonna complain about button mashers when you are in green/orange rank? Every rank below purple is newbie rank full of people either learning the game or button mashing for fun. I'm sorry, but if you are a good player, you have to adjust to the rank you are in

Any fighting game's lower ranked player base will be mashers, its just more apparent in a set of Tekken where your mistakes are exemplified in the form of heat smashes and rage arts. I totally understand that this game is not for you, as it has taken some steps away from the traditional Tekken formula, especially with movement changes going from T7 to T8. But I assure you, this game is still Tekken at its core, if you ever get to discover what that is. If the gameplay was yours, then you are playing at pretty much the bottom of the barrel of Tekken 8's player base, where beginners learn what the game is. This is not a place where novices can begin to polish their skills and learn the game's ins and outs, its the equivalent of your younger cousin smashing every button on their controller in Special Style. Yes, it certainly is annoying to play against players who don't respect your plus frames, or don't play how a better play would play. But if you truly want to say you're getting better at this game you can't let the bottom feeders get to you. Especially as you are playing at the ranks where you're gonna expect players who are stone cold dumbasses. For example in the clip where you are +2 and eat the i17 move, I watched you move forward and do nothing, ofc you got blasted by your opponent's next input. When you begin to really understand the effect of frames in Tekken, you'll see that being +2 isn't that big of a deal. There's plenty of things you can do in frame disadvantage. Hope you get back to the game bro, don't let it discourage you. This game is really fucking hard. There's an unknowable amount of situations and game states which are affected by the equally important and innumerable matchups this game has. Please don't let it stop you from finding the diamond in the rough that is Tekken. :^)
