It's more about second chances. We make a lot of mistakes as parents because none of us know what we were doing and our parents experienced the same thing. In essence, you learn how to let the little things go and focus on the things that matter the second time around. Time is also more precious the second time around, because you realize how fast it went with your kids. It's not that they love the grandkids more, it's that they are better at showing love now that they've made their mistakes with us.

i’d love to think of it that way, but my grandmother literally told my mother and i that she loves me more :( i felt so sad, but my mother assured me that if i have children, she will love them more, too (as if that would make me want them??) edit: my mother also said that if i have have children, i would be upset if she didn’t love them more, and that i will understand in the future (she said “when” not “if”, but i doubt i’ll ever want children tbh)
