Very hot days seem to make it drain the battery very very fast. I have had this device for. 2 yrs and each summer I have a flat battery. Before the interlock my battery lasted 8yrs. Yeah the device is clearly the problem. I also got a violation 6mins after I had turned off my car and exited. I have successfully disputed 2 violations so far but how many others have been false reads. I have also had to have the device changed 3 times due to errors.

These devices drain and disrupt the battery. I have had one on for waaaay too long and it has created many false positive reads and has killed 2 brand new batteries in 2yrs.

Did you try removing the keys because some cars the headlights stay on when the keys are still in the ignition I’m sure you’re figuring it out by now

I eventually got it to malfunction at the installer and they realized they had it connected to the wrong ignition wire for over a year. I never got refunded and my lawyer said the laws are so broad that it would be nearly impossible to win a lawsuit against Smart start Incorporated.

I eventually found out it was installed on the wrong ignition wire for over a year, they never refunded any of the malfunctions.
