Analog Horror Dinosaur Stop Motion tests
มุมมอง 2.8K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
A mix of old, and new footage for a series of Analog Horror videos I will be making surrounding the legend of Gwangi. A living fossil once thought to be killed off in Mexico in the late 19th century, now there's proof that there were others of its kind roaming the world. Of course, this is just for fun, and a neat way to extend the legacy of Willis O Brien's dream project, as realized by Ray Ha...

Dinosaur Stop Motion Cut Scenes

Cut scenes for a short I am making using a replica of Harryhausen's design from the Valley of Gwangi. This replica was made by @TREXPRODUCTIONS3190 and was a phenomenal puppet to work with. Gwangi El Tyrannosaurus Al
Looks like there some inspiration from Carnosaur.
@@SurfbyShootin definitely was inspired by the sets from the film for the backgrounds
Smooth claymation is all I need to subscribe 😊
@Olorotyrant oh man, just as I started to film it to look more choppy. I am very happy to see you appreciate the animation, it's harder work just to nudge a puppet along vs moving it for a quick dart
Carnosaur but good. Keep it uip.
@@TOHOREMIX I do need to make more scenes like Carnosaur, especially in tribute to the late Roger Corman
@@bluesentaiproductions Go for it
I love this! You are awesome >:D
@ChalinoElizalde thank you very much, a feature length short is in the works with some live action inter cuts but it will be a fun parody of the films of those times while paying respect to Harryhausen
@@bluesentaiproductions cool! What is your rhedasaurus made of?
@@ChalinoElizalde it's made of silicone, casted from a clay sculpt, but I did commission it to be made by @Trexproductions3190
@@bluesentaiproductions cool.. imma try to do one myself, wish me luck, heh! How tall is the figure btw?
@@ChalinoElizalde I'd love to see you do a version of it! And it's about 6 inches tall with its head craned up, but 12.5 inches long including the tail
What a silly goober of a Dino Gwangi is.
I guess it does look like gwangi
Gwangi has returned
Another short is in the works right now, this will be more like Valley of Gwangi 2000, set right at the turn of the 21st century.
Gwangi
It's more like a descendant of gwangi, but very much like his great grandpa
The valley of gawngi but for modern audiences.
I'm slowly working up a story, hopefully it will be done by the end of the year because I will be taking a short break from Dinos
I can imagine the Rhedosaurus fighting with the Ymir before he can grow bigger than his size.
You may have just given my next idea for a new short. Even for its size during the Rome rampage, it could easily out maneuver the Rhedosaurus. But yes, it will have to grow taller to for there to be a serious fight.
Your Allosaur looks inspired by Gwangi and I think that’s awesome!
It was supposed to be an exact replica but the fabricator and I agreed it should look somewhat different since this is supposed to be Gwangi's descendant c. 1968.
Beautiful and lovely
Thanks for watching, and stay tuned, a full length short is in pre production
This was amazing 🤩 if I was in it I would do some Jurassic park s stuff
Check out the animations done by Justin Rasch, some are toys being animated while others are made by the same fabricator who made the Rhedosaurus in this video.
@@bluesentaiproductions ok 👍
A Valley of Gwangi analog horror? I gotta see this play out!
It will be a while before I get it together since I'm doing a Valley of Gwangi 2000 AD short which will Segway to a parody of the 70s version of "In Search of," where the incident in the film is quickly covered up as a lion escaping, but here and there people keep seeing living dinos, plus I'll rectify the ending of the original saying there were still other Allosaurus dinos in the valley
Hey, that's pretty good!
Thanks for watching, and stay tuned, a full short will be done by the end of July.
Wow, that is
Thanks!
This is so sick
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. This will be part of a short film, so stay tuned it should be done by the end of July.
Damn. No comments yet.
It's all good. Getting one comment is enough for me to know someone enjoyed it. Thanks again!
The way the humans react to it is so off and unsettling, it makes the creature itself way more unnerving. Good stuff.
Some of the footage is from my complete short, Dino Crises, so yes some stuff is out of context, but I do appreciate the complement. I guess you can say they do appear like rats, but the first clip was from a deleted scene where soviet officials used their special ops soldiers as fodder for feeding time
Earnestly has good potential for being creepy though I may recommend omitting some of the clay people and adopting a more found footage style to make the final product appear more grounded. You could also use the high contrast between the characters and creature to emphasize its unnerving characteristics in a more stylized approach. Can't wait to see where it goes!
This was more of me having fun with editing filters. I plan on doing a parody of the 70s version of In Search of about the lore of the still living dinosaur, but I am going to make a short that will be more ofna traditional narrative
If anything this was intended to be an addendum to my latest short starring the same Dino
That's almost worthy of Rey Harryhousen himself.
Thanks, I studied a lot of his work, and figured out his techniques, so I owe everything to him
your would make the masters proud!!
Thanks, I do appreciate that, I do owe them for inspiring me
This is a fantastic tribute to the master!
Thanks, I appreciate the comment, especially from one of TH-cam curators of classic stop motion
Bro, your perfect for a Gumby analog horror series, we kinda need one of those
That's an intriguing proposition but I'll pass it along to a couple animators who could do it better
How is it horror? It is just really good stop motion
These are visual and animation tests, I am working on a narrative, but I'm leaning towards just making a flashback story that involves found footage being confiscated
@@bluesentaiproductions Okay, It looks really good.
Ok Valley of Gwangi is perfect for analog horror
It's going to be a fun exercise expanding upon the film, emulating footage from different eras, and maybe even a silent film as well
It's time for a snack!
I do feel bad for him, people wearing clothes must not taste all that good
Very nice man! I love your stopmotions!
Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying them, but I promise there is some really good stuff on the way!
@@bluesentaiproductions ooo sounds interesting!
Great stop motion. Did you hear about Space Monster Wangmagwi being found?
Right on!
Glad you liked it, and thanks for watching
@bluesentaiproductions No problem good sah!
He looks kind of playful, Like a Puppy. Doesn't seem fearful at all.
I didn't want him to be entirely like a merciless beast, and I did model some of his movements after my dachshunds. A monster like this isn't evil, just living out of its own time, unable to make sense of our world
my husband and father-in-law introduced me to these classic movies and i loved both the Beast and the Giant Behemoth!
Glad you have enjoyed them, I may be doing the Giant Behemoth soon
@@bluesentaiproductions I can tell your having fun making these short films! I love these films because they are fun and have a lot of heart
@MayumiC-chan9377 yes, it's fun to recreate these, the replica of the Dino was expensive, but worth every penny being able to animate it. I do love those old films as well, as well as the era they're set in. I will be making an extended version with live action actors, all dressed for the era, but it will be a while before that's finished
@@bluesentaiproductions My husband is ex-South African National defense forces and he wrote a story that takes place in 1980s Congo when South African Recces (special forces) are being pursued by Dinosaurs in the Dark Jungle regions of the Congo. My husband’s life is classic movies and i enjoy them because there’s so much to classic movies.
@MayumiC-chan9377 sorry for the late reply, that sounds like great story. I believe there is a legend about a living dinosaur in the Congo, but it's considered to be a pure myth, but crazy if it was true
Sublime. Gracias
Thanks for watching
holy crap this is awesome, u should do the paleosaurus from 1959 if u can
Thanks, I did do one a few years back in claymation, it was OK, and just like the 59 film I'd feel like I would be repeating myself with the scenes I did here. I may, still touch up the sculpture I have and do some tests with it in the future
😢very nice
Neat Gwangi replica. What do you think of suitmation?
I do like suitamation as much as stop motion. I'm a big ultraman fan so always enjoyed seeing the work that goes into the Monsters and sets
@@bluesentaiproductions did you know Merian C. Cooper hated the idea of King Kong being a guy in a gorilla suit? What’d you think of the suit in King Kong vs. Godzilla?
@huntercoleman460 I believe that was only ever optioned when they were going to do the scenes of him climbing the ESE but they still released a publicity promo saying that's how they did it. I wasn't a fan of how Kong looked in vs Godzilla. I would expect better of Tsuburaya's team but it wad rushed into production
@@bluesentaiproductions did you hear about Space Monster Wangmagwi being found?
This was great. Ever see Eugene Lourie’s other films like Giant Behemoth and Gorgo?
I have, and I am a big fan of Gorgo. I did do a stop motion video of the Giant Behemoth 2 summers ago but the animation was far from my best. I will have to redo it again
If only this man existed a mere 85 years ago 😔
I appreciate the sentiment, but much of how stop motion is done now, was being pioneered by the great names of the medium. So much of the software and editing I use would have been unimaginable I those days, but how they still did it in an Industrial Age society is a marvel to look at.
Fantastic!!!
Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoyed it, more Dino content is on the way!
A tribute to the movie that inspired Godzilla.
It does appear to be the case but there's a whole backstory too lengthy to explain, but here's a great video on the history of how the origin of Godzilla came to be th-cam.com/video/JRn-UvI6YWo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lpQTxEyb23sH80tx
@@bluesentaiproductions yeah you're right it wasn't just the beast from 20,000 fathoms that inspired Godzilla, King Kong definitely had a hand in it as well and so much more. I'm just thankful it wasn't it wasn't… "The giant claw"🤣 that inspired our favorite atomic leviathan. Thank you for the video link. I'm gonna save it in my playlist.
@@Ani8900 oh, I believe Ray Harryhausen was supposed to animate the Giant Claw, the particulars of how that didn't come to be elude me, but it would have made a far more palatable film because the acting is pretty good, and the set up for the monster reveal was well done. And yes, the initial release of King Kong had Japanese studios planning ideas for an original Giant monster film of their own. Obviously, the war got in the way, but the aftermath of the atomic bombings did lay the groundwork for a new type of monster. The Beast from 20,000 fathoms merely beat them to the punch, but it's hardly an allegory about the horrors of nuclear fallout.
@@bluesentaiproductions all very true, I will admit the way the story was betrayed, and the acting is pretty good and the monster doesn't look too bad, but they had like a plethora of sounds they could've used and it's kind of… Well, a little toony. Still they made with what they got in. And again, It wasn't all that bad. The only reason why I've heard this because of the game where you can create your own game. Someone was trying to make a Godzilla fighting game using all of the monsters and and the giant claw was one of them.
@Ani-lc6fe I still like the Giant Claw despite it's flaws, and that would be a cool game. In all reality the Giant claw is so big it would make Rodan look like a fly, it would give Godzilla a serious fight
Let’s goooo I literally subbed yesterday
Right in time for the newest video, but it will be a bit before the next one
@@bluesentaiproductions stop motion takes time. I get it
@Tyrexthecreaturedesigner actually it's because we're getting an ensemble cast for some live action shots to coincide with the animation. The real test will be getting those live action scenes Masked into the animations
@@bluesentaiproductions holy cow that’s awesome!
@Tyrexthecreaturedesigner what's going to take time is acquiring period correct costumes, especially our lead since we need to get 40s/50s style US army officers uniform with all the ranking insignia, I'm even so meticulous I want him to have ribbon bars showing he's seen action in the Pacific during WW2, and Korea. Thankfully, a friend turned me to a website that specializes in replica uniforms at an affordable rate
Good video
Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you liked it.
So nice man! I love this stopmotion! Reminds me of the vintage stopmotions. 10/10
Thanks, and yes, I probably watched all the classic monster flicks, plus crime thrillers to build a combined aesthetic I call, Monster Noir
@@bluesentaiproductions ha lol, no problem man!
I thought this was related to Capcom's Dino Crisis for a moment.
It was an inspiration, and I wanted to do the scene where the Trex smashes through the windows, but 007 and other cold war era influences took over the main story.
Also, is that Shadow moon on your profile pic, I love Kamen Rider Black. I did a couple, well, experimental shorts if you want to check those out on my channel
It's so beautiful.
Thanks though I'm just the animator, all credit on the Dino goes to Trexproductions3190

I wish I made the Dino, it was done by Trexproductions3190, he is currently accepting commissions if you are interested. Also, I did check out your animation and it was a lot of fun to watch. I only wished I had done more close quarter action, keep up the good work!

Reminds me of an old Godzilla movie, hell yeah
As a Godzilla fan, I appreciate that comparison. Thanks for watching!
