Thanks. This was great. question: how do they navigate living 1/2 the time in Florida and 1/2 the time in North Carolina? Does Chaz stay in Florida the times she's in north carolina? I like the flexibility and creativity but, wondering how they do that. thanks.

I'm listening to Lysa's current book right now. I was listening in the shower and had to get out to confront some of the questions she asks in chapter 6. Just watching this and thinking about her book brings me to tears. I need to go buy the paper version. I love to see how God is using Lysa to bless so many and how He blessed her with a good, handsome husband!

I just have to say that yes, a girl loves to be pursued!, however.. I was 37 years old, never married, when a guy from church started to pursue me and it was nothing I had ever experienced. After our first coffee date, he was very interested and I held off giving him my phone number for a couple months but he was always messaging me and complimenting me and wanted to see me every chance he got. Then I gave him my phone number and he was always calling me and the longer we dated I mean he was with me every chance he got. Every day off he was by my side. He was never on his phone with me, I always had his attention. We married within 9 months and things almost immediately changed. He was on his phone a lot… he really stopped complimenting privately and only did it publicly on FB. His attention was everywhere, and he started becoming critical of me. All of this to say, we are now going through divorce proceedings after 7 years of marriage. I bring this up to ask for advice on future relationships. I love to be pursued, but I was pursued before and it felt amazing until it didn’t. Now when I hear this about Chaz flying to see Lysa for a coffee date, I’m thinking is/was it real? Because I experienced someone wanting to see me, be with me every chance he got, had me on the phone all the time and then once we were married I got a completely different person. How can I know what’s real going forward?

It is impossible to have a perfect home, but I have found that if my house isn’t at least “picked up”, I can’t relax and be present. This has brought me to simplifying the “material” part of my world by having less which helps keep my world more “picked up”. People think the house is clean but really it is just not cluttered. Thank you for your honesty!

This was very encouraging. My divorce was final in 22, after 46 years of marriage & 8 children. Discovered my husbands porn addiction in 20, that had started when he was a teen. I still didn’t want a divorce but he had walked away from me as his wife years earlier & walking away from the marriage was easy for him. I would love to have a real marriage & be loved & cherished, but I’m afraid to trust. I’ve put it in God’s hands & asked that He not bring anyone around till I’m healed & in His time. At 67, if I don’t marry, that’s ok too. Thanks for this message!

Ali, I loved this podcast!! I think it was so good, well-balanced hearing from Chaz, who all of us years-deed lovers of Lysa, were curious about. He won me over with his undeniable, underlying JOY, and the genuine tenderness in his responses and their shared bond. This inverview not only gave background for Chaz's story, but gave me pure joy seeing that God has done great things in their lives. My story in the last 10+ yrs of my 30 yr marriage are unfortunately similar to Lysa's, so this has given me more hope that God will make beauty from ashes, despite my current desert phase. Thank you all for sharing. 🙌 Oh, I am doing the P31 bible study for I Want to Trust You, But I Don't. ❤ So good!

I find this whole conversation a bit disconcerting on many levels. The idea that accountability is seen as a way for a partner to keep a spouse under their thumb is not what accountability is for. Also if the goal is to build trust that is not trust. She has just found another method of controlling her new husband. While some accountability is necassary for everyone this is not its purpose I can use his buddies to wrap him around her little finger. This is so wrong! Besides one of her own rules for judging trustworthiness is if theres a disconnect between what someone says and their actions go with the actions as the real person. She claims to not promote divorce but now she is divorced and remarried to a divorced guy. Sorry guys Proverbs 31 is no longer a trustworthy source of godly counsel. Physician go heal thyself!

    • @JK-sw7gp

Agreed! Also -- her books only focus on problems and never on being an overcomer in Christ. I am convinced she never makes a good decision so she always has a book to write. Think about it, if she made good choices, she would put herself out of business immediately. Furthermore, her "advice" is grounded in emotional decisions vs. Biblical. Why women celebrate her choices and hold her in high esteem is very concerning.

I hear you and even though I don’t know you, I care. It is so hard. I wish it wasn’t, but when I see the (after) after math there is this glimmer that God is indeed leading through these horrible dark times to something so much better. We just can’t understand how. Someone I love is going through what you are going through, the waiting period. It is like torture. Somehow, sometime, the God who made you and loves you will reveal the beauty that he intends to give you. Hang in there. Like what this couple said, do the next right thing according to the Bible. Go to worship services, think of others, rest when it’s time to rest if possible, work when it’s time to work. God sees all and cares. The truth is, God does not make mistakes, get too busy, or change. He will see you through to the end and make things new.❤️
