Thanks. This was great. question: how do they navigate living 1/2 the time in Florida and 1/2 the time in North Carolina? Does Chaz stay in Florida the times she's in north carolina? I like the flexibility and creativity but, wondering how they do that. thanks.
Loved this so much. Some of this content was just being discussed in our ladies disciple group on Monday and hearing it on here was so reaffirming. ❤️
I love Reagans voice!!! Also happy birthday💞💞
Beautiful testimony! Lysa.
I’m happy for Lysa but I just would have loved hearing more of the Lord . AA has helped many people but only Christ can truly set us free
I'm listening to Lysa's current book right now. I was listening in the shower and had to get out to confront some of the questions she asks in chapter 6. Just watching this and thinking about her book brings me to tears. I need to go buy the paper version. I love to see how God is using Lysa to bless so many and how He blessed her with a good, handsome husband!
Love this and Reagan is just like our 14 year old Zoe. They say the same things!!!! It is funny. The chore comment is identical.
I just have to say that yes, a girl loves to be pursued!, however.. I was 37 years old, never married, when a guy from church started to pursue me and it was nothing I had ever experienced. After our first coffee date, he was very interested and I held off giving him my phone number for a couple months but he was always messaging me and complimenting me and wanted to see me every chance he got. Then I gave him my phone number and he was always calling me and the longer we dated I mean he was with me every chance he got. Every day off he was by my side. He was never on his phone with me, I always had his attention. We married within 9 months and things almost immediately changed. He was on his phone a lot… he really stopped complimenting privately and only did it publicly on FB. His attention was everywhere, and he started becoming critical of me. All of this to say, we are now going through divorce proceedings after 7 years of marriage. I bring this up to ask for advice on future relationships. I love to be pursued, but I was pursued before and it felt amazing until it didn’t. Now when I hear this about Chaz flying to see Lysa for a coffee date, I’m thinking is/was it real? Because I experienced someone wanting to see me, be with me every chance he got, had me on the phone all the time and then once we were married I got a completely different person. How can I know what’s real going forward?
Yes girl!! To everything 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💕💕💕
I agree with the concert thing. Most of them are not that great but a Chris Tomlin concert is awesome...but then again chris is just a small part of it.
It is impossible to have a perfect home, but I have found that if my house isn’t at least “picked up”, I can’t relax and be present. This has brought me to simplifying the “material” part of my world by having less which helps keep my world more “picked up”. People think the house is clean but really it is just not cluttered. Thank you for your honesty!
A trigger, “when past pain feels very present.” Such a good definition!!!
Love this so amazingly beautiful 😍❤️
I'm in Tallahassee! Had no idea she was from here
This episode was powerful and right on time. Thank you for sharing your story, and thank you for this podcast.
I literally just bought her book!!! And now this comes up on my fyp!!
She truly is the real deal. I remember meeting her in the staff break room at my old church and she was like "Hi...I'm Lysa" My Brain: I KNOW!!!!! Of the many speakers and authors I've hosted she was truly one of the most down to earth ones.
I love Jacksonville!!!
You are a very good interviewer. Just subscribed ❤
So good❤
This was so encouraging!❤
Amen, its not easy to walk away because you want to do whats right and honor God but sometimes others leave you with no choice. You cant control other people and unfortunately, some people are users.
What an inspiring conversation. I am so thankful I found this podcast, what a blessing your story was to my life, Dr. Asher. And what a presenter you are Ali, you have a gift to make the environment so light and cozy, even talking about hardships and pain. May God bless your lives and make this testimony of love and surrender to Jesus reach millions of people!! Blessings and a big hug from Brazil.
Great podcast. Loved the content. 😂
This was very encouraging. My divorce was final in 22, after 46 years of marriage & 8 children. Discovered my husbands porn addiction in 20, that had started when he was a teen. I still didn’t want a divorce but he had walked away from me as his wife years earlier & walking away from the marriage was easy for him. I would love to have a real marriage & be loved & cherished, but I’m afraid to trust. I’ve put it in God’s hands & asked that He not bring anyone around till I’m healed & in His time. At 67, if I don’t marry, that’s ok too. Thanks for this message!
I would have loved to hear more about the guests than the host... way too much interruption. The host's excitement got the best of her.
My thoughts exactly!
Thank you for bringing God’s message to us! Missy
Ali, I loved this podcast!! I think it was so good, well-balanced hearing from Chaz, who all of us years-deed lovers of Lysa, were curious about. He won me over with his undeniable, underlying JOY, and the genuine tenderness in his responses and their shared bond. This inverview not only gave background for Chaz's story, but gave me pure joy seeing that God has done great things in their lives. My story in the last 10+ yrs of my 30 yr marriage are unfortunately similar to Lysa's, so this has given me more hope that God will make beauty from ashes, despite my current desert phase. Thank you all for sharing. 🙌 Oh, I am doing the P31 bible study for I Want to Trust You, But I Don't. ❤ So good!
Wouldn’t that be a red flag? 🚩 that a guy is flying for a cup of coffee? I mean I had a really impressive guy and he ended up being a narcissist. How to discern.
I love this so much !You have no idea how much hope this gives me. God bless you and your husband! You are such a beautiful couple!Listening to you all these years with all the stuff you been through,I actually asked God why doesn't this lady have a good husband? You deserve live and happiness!I'm so happy for you!!!
First time hearing about this podcast & it came up on TH-cam while watching Lysa talk about forgiveness. My divorce was final in September 2023 & I begged God to mend the marriage. My ex said he didn’t love me anymore! So I’m trying hard to forgive. But bitterness creeps in. Loved the podcast & tried looking for the song… couldn’t find it. It’s beautiful!❤️🎶
Hugggs Psalm 139 ❤
Keep going big. Praying. Saying at loud you forgive him. One day you will notice you really forgive…. And that is so great!
The interviewer was horrible… too many interruptions, her comments chased rabbits.. let your guests speak! They were awesome
Agreed. I couldnt watch because the interviewer was awful.
Chaz spoke so little but i learned from his wisdom.
Omg I laughed so hard! I relate to her purse so much! I’m like a Girl Scout with anything anyone might need at all times! 😂😂. Shared this with my discipleship group bc women need people who understand the intrusive thoughts but also can laugh about the most relatable stuff! We are not alone! God is so good to give us sisters in Christ to lean on and do life with!
Fun and wisdom what a great combo to better my thinking Thankyou girls Olga kayser from zud Africa great fan Lisa!
Dominique, don't give a second thought to some of the mean comments left by some. You do you. Every American gets to vote for whoever they want. I get a vote, you get a vote, they get a vote. Don't let someone else break your positive spirit.
First time listener. Great interview! Lysa's books and devotions have ministered to me throughout the years. So happy for her new marriage to Chaz. I met my husband through a dating app at age 50. He was worth the wait! God is so Good!
Thank you for sharing! You two are beautiful 🥰
I find this whole conversation a bit disconcerting on many levels. The idea that accountability is seen as a way for a partner to keep a spouse under their thumb is not what accountability is for. Also if the goal is to build trust that is not trust. She has just found another method of controlling her new husband. While some accountability is necassary for everyone this is not its purpose I can use his buddies to wrap him around her little finger. This is so wrong! Besides one of her own rules for judging trustworthiness is if theres a disconnect between what someone says and their actions go with the actions as the real person. She claims to not promote divorce but now she is divorced and remarried to a divorced guy. Sorry guys Proverbs 31 is no longer a trustworthy source of godly counsel. Physician go heal thyself!
Agreed! Also -- her books only focus on problems and never on being an overcomer in Christ. I am convinced she never makes a good decision so she always has a book to write. Think about it, if she made good choices, she would put herself out of business immediately. Furthermore, her "advice" is grounded in emotional decisions vs. Biblical. Why women celebrate her choices and hold her in high esteem is very concerning.
The light of Jesus radiates out of your dad. It really is the gift of HOSPITALITY at work. ❤
First time listener Ali. I clicked on because it was Lysa with a hyphen after her name. Thank you for your adorable set up and welcoming, easy and thoughtful questions. FYI I subscribed first thing. Much Blessings to you.
God is such a restorer 😭😭😭😭 I'm sooo happy for Lysa ❤❤❤
Please allow your guest to talk…. I clicked on to hear about Lysa and catch up with her. You talked so much… were you nervous?
I disagree. She did a great job. She put both of them at ease. Ali is a natural at this.
Yes she did a great job
@@danaw2232 It looks like this is a new podcaster and o was just providing constructive feedback… I thought she’d like to know…🙂
new follower. I enjoyed the podcast
Lysa, I have a thought not bossy but...perhaps another book you can write is how men can respond better to their wives or approaches we women can do when suspicion arises. We can blow things out of portion. Do men have as many triggers as women??
What do you do when your GODly influences are high up leaders in the church, I mean high up and the beat you down to core? I survived it because of JESUS it's been 30-plus years. GOD showed me the way out.
Amen!
What a fun conversation! I'm so happy for Lysa and her new marriage. Thank you for the interview.
Cried through this conversation. I’m in the waiting season but I know it will end in divorce. I pray for everyone going through the same. It’s so hard.
I hear you and even though I don’t know you, I care. It is so hard. I wish it wasn’t, but when I see the (after) after math there is this glimmer that God is indeed leading through these horrible dark times to something so much better. We just can’t understand how. Someone I love is going through what you are going through, the waiting period. It is like torture. Somehow, sometime, the God who made you and loves you will reveal the beauty that he intends to give you. Hang in there. Like what this couple said, do the next right thing according to the Bible. Go to worship services, think of others, rest when it’s time to rest if possible, work when it’s time to work. God sees all and cares. The truth is, God does not make mistakes, get too busy, or change. He will see you through to the end and make things new.❤️
I'm in the middle of divorce right now. I am praying for you sister! So sorry you have to go through this as well. God is still so good!
Same, it really is hard..Waves of grief and sadness over and over. Know its inevitable but feels like a death.😢
It is hard but trust me!! It will pass and you will be fine! More than fine!!
🙏🏻
My goodness what a story..... Thank you for sharing ❤ love you guys
