Jan 2012, all contractor funding was zeroed out and all contract crews left the property. All overtime for in house crews was eliminated for an entire year. When existing workforce can barely keep up with new business (405 FWY widening project, LAX expansion projects etc) and then covid workforce reduction actions cutting staffing 50 %, maintenance issues are left to an afterthought. Board resolution to 'fast-track' design/build for 'affordable housing' specific projects due to $$ funding/interest on construction loans et al highlight external pressures on City Council and Board of Commissioners to focus on those areas ahead of maintaining existing infrastructure with dwindling field crews (which will hopefully be finally addressed with IBEW MOU signed in 10/22 and will keep workers from leaving and also bring already trained QEW's TO the LADWP). LA100 timeline self mandated deadlines will also be a 'wrench in the works' to maintaining focus on high priority maintenance. Basic math.....for exa: 2.5 Million manhours of labor performed by 800 workers will take 2,500,000/800= 3,125 hours or 1.5 Years based on 2,000 yr work schedule. DWP field forces have been severely understaffed for decades (hence the need to hire outside workers and an added layer of profit for private contractors supplying them). If there is more work than the workforce can complete, you need more workers. Just sad that so many had to leave before city council finally stepped up to address in October of last year......

I want to express as a DWP employee THAT..Dwp does not treat their employees equally. Especially the security unit that actually worked through the plandemics 24 /7 plus on top of being treated as second class citizens as a employee of DWP!!...

AIDS Healthcare Foundation IRS 990 form shows 1.3 BILLION $$$ of revenue, along with 150+ Million paid out in salaries (for tax year 2019, which means amounts now are undoubtedly much higher) 'Subsidizing' the costs of providing utilities to these Multi-Billion dollar landlords, wouldn't that mean an artificial rise in rates to DWP's other ratepayers in order to maintain revenues ???? And remember S.J.C. ran afoul of this a decade ago....to wit: Jim Reardon sued the city of San Juan Capistrano in 2012 over tiered water rates, alleging the rates were illegal under Prop 218, which requires all government fees be set in accordance with cost of service. Just say NO to Corporate Landlord greed and hold the line on rates for the working-class Angelinos, most of whom ALREADY have reduced take home pay thanks to recent 'transitory' inflation !!!

I hear President stating that ” they built a stadium overnight” during a presentation on expanding/updating the entire electrical infrastructure to meet LA100 requirements. If she is referring to Sofi Stadium, completion actually took almost 4 Years and 2 worker fatalities in order to meet accelerated deadlines in order to host planned NFL superbowl in 2022……and then maybe she can explain the “magic” that might make it all possible. The board needs to hear the voice of the security officers not this clown, most of what he said was not true. LAPD does most of the work for the Senior lead security officers.

LA100 plan was doomed from its conception. LA50 would be much more achievable and economically survivable, or realistic and still challenging. 100% is unrealistic and counter productive. The amount of storage required to eliminate all generation with fossil fuels will be ridiculously expensive, Heating with electricity is 10x as expensive as burning natural gas, especially with California's electricity which costs more than double the average in the other 47 of the lower 48 states. Just say no thank you.
