#personalgrowth #transformationalspeech #motivationalspeech #motivation #empowermentspeech
Description...
This speech emphasizes the importance of not chasing after those who ignore or undervalue you, and the power of choosing self-respect over desperation. It explores the idea that when someone ignores you, it’s a message that should be heard, signaling a need to protect your energy and trust your boundaries. The speech highlights that self-worth is not up for negotiation and that silence is a powerful boundary, not a weakness. It emphasizes how chasing destroys self-trust and undermines your value. The speech also explains that walking away empowers future choices, creating space for healthier connections and opportunities. It concludes with the notion that true self-respect is rooted in maintaining unwavering boundaries, ensuring that relationships are built on mutual respect rather than one-sided effort. Ultimately, the speech encourages embracing silence, walking away when necessary, and trusting that doing so leads to stronger self-trust, clarity, and healthier relationships.
Why you watch this video?
You should watch this video because it offers powerful insights into why chasing after people who ignore you can be emotionally and mentally draining, and how it undermines your self-worth. Brene. I used to do this. With narcissists I got rage, blame, attack, silent treatment. My skills at silence and taking into account their emotions, where they might be hurting to do/say what they did, came back 10 fold in destruction at me. Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. Menacing people, I opened myself up to them with this kind of compassion. I have it, now I keep it because they weaponized it.

With years of trauma, some unresolved. Adhd alongside undiagnosed ASD seems to be incredibly challenging without support to understand my conditioned emotions or feelings I was told weren’t real. Unmedicated, but completely dedicated to healing before I leave this planet. Lost & found, hmmm 🤔 Hard navigating in a world unwilling or unable to create enough stability to sustain any kind of peace. Rising up against the odds 🦋 Thank you

Why silence gives you time to process and reflect? In a world that constantly bombards us with noise, opinions and expectations, we can easily get swept away in the rush of reactions. Every conversation, conflict and situation we encounter demands an immediate answer. We feel the pressure to say something or to explain ourselves or to answer all questions even before we grasp our emotions that we feel or the situation we face as a whole. It's easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment then we say something that we may will regret it later but silence helps you to slow down and absorb not only the surface level of the speech but the deep level of it then respond reasonably. Silence gives us the space to reconstruct our thoughts on the situation, what am I truly felling right now? What is the other person trying to communicate behind those words? What is the outcome that I want from this interaction?

That’s not what she’s saying, it’s a realistic take on how poor communication actually is and how people can take advantage. So it’s ok to make yourself vulnerable but don’t expect to find strength in another’s response. People can and will use things against you, intentionally or not.

I agree tho when you have someone who goes silent on you without explaining why, it’s most unhelpful. Saying what you said just then hurt me would be something or, I’m overwhelmed and just need some time to process. Silence alone is not enough. Love your work Brene. You are an inspiration ❤️🙏

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this Video!!! I intend to watch it, in the mornings when I wake, until these skills you teach become ingrained knowledge & something I can do in the future without conscious effort. I use it as a form of therapy/self treatment, because what you teach in the video falls under (what I call Emotional Competency) - skills I didn't learn early in life because of child abuse & poor parenting - that now, as a mature adult with recent learning that I have subsequent CPTSD, I know I need to learn for myself in order to THRIVE with CPTSD 😃 I've seen (at least the start) of a few of these similar uploads & this Particular one is my favorite :) It has a calmer tone/presentation & most peaceful scenes & images. Adding the scary spider image that seems to stay on screen is a Plus for me. I use to be so scared of spiders, but since discovering I have CPTSD, watching your spider (in moderation) serves as a form of 'prolonged exposure therapy', so I CAN look at spiders in the future without such a fear reaction. I don't know if all that was your 'intent' with posting these videos & making them the way that you did - - - but it certainly serves as a gift for ME!!!! 💖🎁 Much appreciation & I do look forward to, I hope, future inspirational postings on your Channel, with that similar calming tone & peaceful pictures 🙂👍

PS: I just googled for 1 second to see that you studied Empathy. Empathy is one of the most important things I recognize now, from Emotional Competency/Intelligence, that I need to learn. It's something I wasn't able to learn naturally, in my formative years, from adults modeling due to the circumstances surrounding my childhood. THANK YOU AGAIN - please consider more things that help teach us, your viewers & subscribers, more of the skills that are based in the teachings of emotional intelligence 🙏💕

I made it almost to the halfway point. Not a fan of hearing someone read to me while I read on the screen. On TH-cam I'm looking for conversations, interviews, etc. Or at least to see the person speaking. There has to be a reason for me to slow down and watch. I could've read this much quicker. But in any case prefer to hear someone's experiences not just flat words and platitudes.

As a woman this is exactly how I've been conditioned to respond...no response. Just endless wonder about their pain and their excuse for why it's ok. So that all the problems can be rug swept some more and I can continue to be a people pleaser. How about it doesn't matter why they hurt you, just leave. Don't stick around for second chances at hurting you because they might be sad too. Just leave.
