Finances Over 50
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 22 ธ.ค. 2013
This channel is all about finances for women over 50 yrs of age. It’s meant for women like you and me who face different financial struggles than those of our younger friends and family.
So much information on the web and social media is geared toward younger people who may have 20 to 40 years until retirement. They are often told to invest early, often, and reap the rewards later in life.
But what about those of us who are already at that “later in life” stage with little to no retirement savings? We need strategies that may be contrary to the ones that younger generations use.
If you’re age 50 or over and worried about saving for retirement, this is the channel for you. My name is Victoria Coronado and I am a Certified Money Coach and Licensed Professional Counselor. I hope that you’ll join me as I share with you what I’m doing to succeed with my finances over 50 and hopefully inspire you on your own journey!

UPDATE: 3yr post-recovery Posterior Lumbar Spinal Fusion Surgery
I’ve been asked by several people how I’m doing today, three years after having a posterior lumbar spinal fusion. I consider my surgery a wonderful success and I want to share the message that full recovery and returned quality of life is possible!

I am 18 days out 345 fused with cysts and bone spurs removed. Off all pain pills, even tylenol. One day at a time
I am 82 and had the L4 L5 fusion 7 weeks ago. It’s been one day at a time but I am pain free and can walk 1.5 miles at a time. 😊
How was your fusion plz reply
How are you doing now?
Never go cold turkey on meds. You probably went through rapid detox
I am 70 yr old woman 6 months after spine surgery. I’m having follow-ups with my doctor every six weeks and he’s pleased at my progress. I have been feeling great up until last month little stiffness in my leg and a few symptoms that I was having before the surgery. I function OK and everybody is amazed at my progress, I guess I’m just impatient and upset with myself because I can’t do the things I used to do. My surgery was on my neck first and then I had L9, 10, and 12. Dr said I could resume three months after surgery. I guess I’m doing OK not perfect and I’ve always been a workhorse. Today I know my limitations what I can and cannot do. Thank you so much for making this video. It’s been very helpful.
You look more beautiful
You look beautiful
I had a spinal fusion L4 and L5 nine years ago. I was not told that after several years, I probably would have to have another spinal fusion. They call it adjacent segment disease. Well, now I am miserable and trying not to have surgery again. Dreading a second surgery. I am almost 70!
I realize this is from several yrs ago, but thanks for sharing. I'm 3 weeks post op from L4, L5 fusion, with laminectomy. It's great to hear of positive results! So far, I'm very happy with my fusion experience. I hope that you're still doing well!
Did your mom have same surgery? Why didn’t hers work! I’m scared I am 76 they want to do spinal fusion and lamectimy.
Thank you for sharing your story. I am having this same surgery soon. I am hoping for a good recovery.
Just had mine done on Wednesday didnt sleep at all that night and it looks tonight either.Took some pain meds but not helping at 68 everything heals slower my cancer doesn’t help but it is what it is. Pray your feeling much better guess we just need to give it time.
no adjacent problems upstream from your fusion? That is one of the possibilities within a few years of a fusion.
TH-cam suggested your video so I tapped it. I’m glad you’re doing well. Take care. ❤
Hi, Hope you’re doing much better. One thing was not clear at the beginning of your video; You say you has a 2 level fusion from L4 to S1. Understood. Then you say you had two artificial disc replacements. This is what I don’t understand. It’s one or the other but a mix of fusion plus ADR is very rare, not to say impossible. Thank you, if you can explain…
I just listened to your video after 3 years after your spinal fusion surgery. I was told by a well known highly recommended neurosurgeon that I have 4 collapsed disks. S1 - L2 need fusion. I could just get the very worst ones done S1-L5(but I don’t want it done partially)….not a surgery that I would want to have done again! I also have L5 is slipped over S1(Spondylolisthesis). I have spinal degenerative disk disease and stenosis. I found out my maternal grandmother had spinal fusion and bad back, and my mom has bad back. Osteoarthritis is also a factor. Deciding on when surgery should be done is toughest, because they want to do spinal fusion with pins, screws, cages. I have a sit down, work from home job but not sure how long recovering will take? I just turned 62 years old. Seems like a lot to have 4 vertebrae fused. Wish I had a swimming pool… don’t have the space or landscape for it.
Thank you for sharing! I just finished week 3. Very similar.
@victoria coronado we appreciate your videos, looking forward to another video update, thank you . I need a ALIF L5-S1 fusion i have grade 1 spondylithesis and in pain
Hi Victoria, I'm not sure if your still active on your channel but I'm having my Plif surgery next week I have Parkinson's Fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis..Comfort is key for me while laying down Do you remember if there was anything that helped you to be comfortable while in bed?
Did u get any taller?
Had a back surgery in 2003. They went thur the front then the back. Rods screws etc. Woke up and realized I loss the use of my left leg. And the pain was worst..on total disability now... only thing I have now is my Dog...lol.. my buddy..They have gotten alot better now with back surgery's. Just be careful. Do your homework please. Thank God hearing your video I’m at 8 days out & im in pure agony. They did L5-S1 with microdisectomy and they removed a large bone spur on my left side. I also have spinal stenosis I have many other herniated discs but by far that’s the worst level. I still feel sciatica is that normal while your healing? I pray it goes away soon
Thank you for making this video I am scheduled for the surgery next month and I’m trying to find as much positivity as possible thank you for your honesty !!!

Now ur walking .running.how lifting weights and works
At 46 I think one's metabolism can start to slow down - that's around when I started to notice I gained weight if I ate the way I used to. You look a lot younger than your age. Happy for your success.
7:30 how many iv's have you done? yes for transfusion big needle I love it when someone gives advice on something they've never done .if you have done iv's you should understand.
Thanks for sharing.
One had same levels done also had interbody cages /spacers but mine didn't go well.i have suffered since 87 my surgery was 2004 nine hour op but i knew it hadn't worked as the pain was immense and that has never left me .i had six units of blood during surgery I just don't think I was a good candidate but my spine was so unstable surgeon told me there was a chance of paralysis so I had little choice.happy to see it's worked for you and many others but many of us are not so lucky.good luck .
One more Question Fusion was Invasive or the classic surgery with big cut. Please help me out I found you as my angel right know.
Hi My Name Is Ofelia I’m having a fusion on lumbar L4L5S1 I’m very scared I’m glad I went through you video God bless you for this Information I begin suffering since 2014 I have always coward out from surgery. But know I have to do it. One Question for you you can always did they replace your whole Disc
What's the condition of your other discs?? Are they okay,mm
At the time of my surgery the doctor said that my L3 disc had potential to rupture, but I have not had any issues to-date with that disc. My backpain is nearly non-existent.
Good to know about that..... you may never get that pain ever again
You have gained weight but look pretty
Did health insurance cover it if not how much did it turn out to be? I currently have stage 1 retrolisthesis and a mild 2.4mm disc bulge both located on the L5-S1 area. Sometimes im fine without pain and other days Im not. Im just about to start therapy for that area. Im trying to inform myself as much as I can even saving money incase it gets to the point of needing surgery. Im concerned insurance won't cover it. :(
I’m scheduled for a 2-level TLIF at L4-S1 in a few weeks and I’m 🙏🏽 to have the success you appear to have. Glad to see your success story!
