About Ross Eves Golf
Ross Eves Golf is all about improving your golf. From golf fitness, to golf biomechanics to beginner’s golf tips!
So, what’s my background?
Well, as most professional golfers my dream was to play professionally. However, that dream was a little lofty for someone with my talent. So, I decided to take a different route. This route was to investigate the science behind getting better, specially how to hit the ball further! After all, who doesn’t want to hit the ball further.
This desire to learn how to increase swing speed lead me to investigate the body in terms of golf fitness and golf biomechanics. This interest in golf fitness lead me to complete TPI Level 1 and 2; become a qualified massage therapist and then extend that knowledge by completing a Masters degree.
During my Masters, I focused my research solely on increasing club head speed through golf fitness interventions. This line of scientific enquiry provided me with first evidence and golf fitness routines which would increase swing speed and hence increase club head speed. Personally, I found this research to be extremely helpful, and I increased club head speed by 15mph (from 100mph to 115mph) within 1 year.
After this I have turned my attention to the biomechanics of the golf swing. This combination of golf biomechanics and golf fitness knowledge allows me to provide coaching to all levels to help increase club head speed.

Good content. I’m seriously considering subscribing.
@@chezchezchezchez thanks, I trying! Still not happy with it but I’ll keep improving!
Vokey lob wedge grinds are the best
Your tone and pace of explanation is great, and cured my insomnia too, keep it up
I wish it cured mine too
certainly wore nicer golf shoes in 2010
these are the comments that are more important than any thing... bring back FJ Classics!!! or even icons!!
It might be that Rory has a stronger left hand grip now, so he doesn't need that flat wrist so much? Very nice analysis though and he definitely looked a lot smoother in the old video.
its not something ive overly noticed but I wouldnt disagree with that... he looks much more fluid in the old one... but he is about 15mph faster now... soooo... I cant decide which I prefer!
I really think his 2010 swing was better!
very clean wasnt it!
Chubby Rory was elite
On top of more training, your body changes too. With that, comes swing change as well.
along with aging!
Early extension
what are you on about
I was taught the opposite as a kid, to have a longer follow through than the the backswing…
You don’t see many great putters do that! Funny how instruction chabges
Interesting this, it's typically seen as a fault to raise up onto your right toe like that before impact. I've had people point to that as the root cause of my early extension before. It's always felt like a natural power move for me. Looks to me like his speed is actually coming from his flexibility which allows him to separate his hips from the club so much. Club lags a mile behind his rotation
First time I’ve come across your videos. Really like your explanation and detail. One new subscriber! 🏌🏻thanks!!
thank Daniel, I'll try my best to keep making them better!
I notice that he accelerates the club down with his arms without the centrifugal effect causing release. This gives extra speed. Bryson, Nienaber and all the long drive guys have a similar movement. Seen from the front, the hands come down from a high position in an almost straight line before changing direction. Worth having a look at. The centrifugal effect is not talked about enough, it is what causes release.
good analysis
Thanks for the comments, appreciate it
Damn a name of the past! Japanese superstar to now kinda jacked golfer who I could probably beat
Man imagine if he was just an average putter
he's actually like top 20 in the world now! its been his long game that has been poor if you look at his stats over the last couple of years... I couldnt believe it went I looked them up!
曲がらないけど飛ばない
Grant has a slightly more upright starting position and therefore has to shallow the club more including a bigger hip (less horizontal) hip (dis)position
I get ignoring ballflight. But should you also ignore club data...path and ftp or should you pay attention to that during a change?
Id pay attention to the change youre trying to make, with data and video. I'd be looking at are you getting closer to what you want to achieve.

its called the tac tie
Cuz vokey… that’s why
Great video Ross. The everyday golfer would benefit so much from the words you shared in this video. Take the outcome out for periods of practice, when working on a big technical change
Thanks Danny! I think alot of people would get better just doing 15 minutes a day at home than beating balls endlessly!
Great video. Nice work.
thanks for the comment
Great explanation
thanks for the comment
What a load of snake oil crap...Do you think Ben Hogan had these options?...Seve learned his stuff with donated Men's clubs on a beach when he was a boy.
Does anyone compare no-putt Rory to Ben or seve?… you’d be the first
@@rortys.kierkegaard9980 Seve, Ben, and Rory are all legends of the game...enough said.
@ …and *koepka are all legends of the game’ - makes more sense… he’s got more majors… js
@@rortys.kierkegaard9980 Of course...Brooks is definitely a legend to. Followed him around the Dunhill a few times. Love his attitude with his fellow Pro's and their caddies. He's a top man.
Because taylor made is garbage
but why can't TM just make him an identical wedge? seems like a simple way to get him full bag TM
So they should just commit patent infringement lol?
@@Parmesan300😂😂
Would of been nice to see how each player moved their head in the head box and where their hips moved in the hip box during the swing. Nelly looks more flexible. Both swings are great and one could do no wrong copying their swing mechanics. Nice video.
This is not new, he has done it for a while
thanks for the feedback I agree and have changed the topic!
Still across and when he first came on tour he was brilliant at the top. It changed the minute he chased more distance like Bryson
Real nice breakdown Ross 🤛💪
thanks Jason
Always thought his grip was slightly off: left hand too strong and right hand too weak. I really think a slight tweak would help. I also agree he needs to focus on developing a consistent routine like his mentor: TW.
The grips is so hard to change for tour pros!
Great theory and insight, thanks for the video
thanks Alan
Is it me or does shit look the same? Sounds like you said he wants to be shallower on the downswing but wouldn’t that produce more of a draw? Always thought he favored to fade it?
its very similar... but at that level the margins are so small. Not necessarily, because he goes steep then shallow, instead he wants to get shallow then steep which will make it easier to fade
What a bunch of BS. You’re comparing his 4-iron swing to a wedge
swings dont change much whether you're hitting a wedge or a long iron. Set up might change a bit, but swing stays the same. You can tell the video on the right, his right shoulder was more in an internal rotation vs the video on the left, his right elbow was pointed down to the ground more, which means he managed to externally rotate the right shoulder. At P2, it's good to see the right elbow crease pointed to the sky, which means the right forearm was supinated. The video in the left, Rory's right elbow crease pointed a bit to the ground, which means it was a bit pronated
It's the 6 in between the ears in Majors
I feel like his swing change could be achieved simply by rotation the trail forearm into a "giving blood" position at the setup. it would then naturally cause the swing to shallow out instead of having to mentally think about it
I agree!
If not for his hip action, he'd be a 10 handicap. He gets stuck and unstuck in a very amazing way.
has nothing to do with the hip action. Phil Mickelson and Brooks Keopka are known for their hips not rotating like the average pros on tour, and they both got multiple wins.
@@georgeyod286bullshit. Rory’s hips are very unique. You don’t know much about golf.
@@georgeyod286bro, Rory literally gets his arms stuck behind his body on the way down and then stalls his hips to get his swing back. The other dude is correct. You are a moron.
@@georgeyod286the first comment was correct. Rory has an unusual hip action on the way through the ball. You don’t know anything about golf. Cheers!
I think the danger of this more over the line take away is that he fishes for depth. I would rather he focus on a more consistent, less powerful wedge pattern.
Try Mac Ogrady or copy Louis oostheizens practise take away on another u tube video
It's the putter. Swing looks great!
Not sure why he’s messing with one of the very best swings ever when it’s holing putts that has cost him about half a dozen majors
Putting along with 130 yards and in is his weakness.
I hope these changes work great for him and he dominates this tourney and next year. I want more battles between him and Scottie because that will be good for golf.
th-cam.com/video/pJwSYFPmZZw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=06xp-c7uw-md7_yj
His muscles, specifically his hip muscles, are really tight. So he literally can't swing any longer. That's called x factor, his wrists are the only way to manage those torque forces. Great video! Would not recommend it for the average golfer...takes years to build that wrist strength and stability
Looks like adam is playing a fade where nelly is just playing her natural draw.
It's not enough
😂
No doubt about it, i definitely see this stud hoisting many trophies on sunday, my favorite on tour, and i dont know the man but he seems ligit, humble, well spoken, just all around tremendous Athlete, they breed them right over there in Swed, similar to the asian culture, focused, practice is extremely important, dedication to what your goals are, ! Thank you, i enjoyed the breakdown and the trail elbow on how and why it works that way.i have to say , out of all the tour pros out there i try to catch as many breakdowns or information on this stud, definitely a generational Athlete, lets enjoy him while we can. But sometime even though the sweds have that killer extinct , the American lifestyles doesn't sit right with there Damien, i hope he takes it all in on his terms, he seems to dominate the first 3 days and then falls off on sunday or late in Saturdays round, i was hoping he was going take the open Pinehurst, first 2 days he killed it and just fell off. Idk, anyway bla bla bla, sorry bit of a rant, but hes definitely someone to talk about.
**When you have a video filmed from 30* from the left of the alignment....we can no longer look at anything regarding EE or steep.... Throw it out. Congrats on the views tho.
Korda has a much better swing
Not sure about that 🤔
nelly copies tiger swing
