LaborDay 2019
This is a small video that I made of our labor day bbq 2019. We had good food.. good times. The big water slide was the best thing ever.. so much fun... I try to pull out my GoPro as much as I can to film the small adventures that my friends and family get to do.. most important thing is that we get to cherish the times we have with each other.
thanks for watching. ..... Jason Ross

    • @utubepunk

      Duct tape the pipe at one end, bake the right amount of sand, then pour it into the pipe, then duct tape that end. In less than a minute, it'll be super flexible

    Can I put some dense steel (found in the junkyard or somewhere else) in the center of the ball (prefilling the ball with some concrete, then putting the steel inside, then finally filling the ball completly with some more concrete) to make it heavier than 15 kgs that you would normally get by filling the ball with the concrete only? will it still be solid that way?

    Put sand in a frying pan, then use a funnel to put the hot sand into the PVC and you won't get kinks in your PVC pipe. When I make these or Buff Blocks I like to fill My PVC with Concrete as well. Makes them heavier and more durable hand grips.

    You can drill holes at the ends of the PVC pipe that goes inside the basketball and place a couple rods in a crossed pattern to make sure the ball won't come off

    What ball will give me 45lb weight?

    • @fireme347
      @fireme347 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The basketball is already getting big compared to traditional kettlebells. So adding metal inside. Some example which im going to research as well is leadshot. Towing chains inside etc while sticking with basketball and concrete.

    • @utubepunk
      @utubepunk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fireme347 What did you end up using? I was thinking of a 5 lb plate weight at the bottom, but thought that might make the kettlebell weight less than uniform. Lead shot or ball bearings seems like a good idea. You could mix it into the quikcrete & theoretically it'd be more spread out & uniform inside the basketball.

    • @fireme347
      @fireme347 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@utubepunk leadshot was getting too expensive. I ddint want to invest and be disappointed and this was a fun project on a budget. But I did use all my extra one off screws and washers and scrap metal from a vacuum motor cut into manageable pieces. Added it evenly as i put more concrete. I did use a 10 ft tow chain i picked up on kijiji for dirt cheap. Remember the more metal you put in the less concrete and is the ratio of small metal more than the volume of concrete. ? I packed it tight and just squeeked out about 42/43 lbs. But should I need to go heavier. I will have to rethink the leadshot?

    if you fill the pvc with sand as you heat and bend it will form a great handle with extra weight and extra compressive durabiluty. we do this at work somtimes to form nice bends but there is no point in removing the sand as wee do. even better use butelene pipe as this is tough as old boots.

    It looks the part but it isn’t gonna last 5 minutes. 35kg of concrete with a PVC pipe set in it will wriggle out in no time........hopefully when it’s not above ye head. Concrete will also crack too, it cracks in them plastic weights filled with concrete too it just isn’t effective. Really nice idea but I think somebody else suggested this, bang a bolt through and through the PVC, fix a nut either end and then set it in concrete. The horizontal metal fix will be way stronger than the vertical plastic pipe in concrete.
