      The old timber cutters were carnivores who did horrendous amounts of work with just a roo meat sandwich for lunch . . with a bit of damper & treacle . . sunlight did the rest

    Pretty cool. I just hope that this timber will still be available to craftsmen in the future. Although recycled jarrah is clearly still a useful timber

    Reading the description and seeing Kalgoorlie mentioned is interesting 😂 Some gorgeous timbers, but not big and far between. But Salmon Gum is one of my favs. And Gimlet

      Amazing, not much on the east coast would have equaled the size, and board feet of these. Reminds me of the Kauri forrests in Waipoua up top on NZ, which are even bigger but as tall. These tough old blokes too.
