In case anyone is watching this over the years (because it definitely SHOULD be a demonstration every sewist eventually sees 🎉): 🩹🩸 😬 GET A SHARPS (💉🧷🪒📍📌 ) CONTAINER! You will save yourself and your trashbags a lot of stabs and holes. Not to mention all the people in waste management. They're having to deal with your trash already! Sharps containers can be disposed of in a variety of ways. Your local pharmacy, your doctor or hospital, your local government - you can search to find plenty of people and places who will SAFELY dispose of the sharps container for you, usually for free! Some places will actually exchange your container for a new empty one! Many sharps containers have a company's info on them, who will help you dispose of the sharps container. Merry Destruction! Stay safe ❤

Great demo showing ideas to improve upon a regular old 4 thread overlock construction seam. While making for fast and finished construction, the 514 overlock does leave a bit of bulk and also doesn't leave much seam allowance to hold a nice flat seam from the right side. That open overcast ( hong kong -esque) seam finish is a nice idea to reduce bulk and the cover hem makes for a faster process than having to topstitch both sides individually. For stretch, what do you think about using a single needle chain stitch as the construction seam then cover stitching for the top stitch? I'm not sure how well a chain stitch would last compared to a lock stitch.

I'm sure this is helpful information, but perhaps next time the camera can aim downward to completely see your hands and what you are doing with the mask. The window behind you was big and bright (but of no interest to me). I appreciate your friendly face! Also, if you made the mask originally then in this video added the darts, perhaps give viewers a link to the mask making video.

When you topstitch the liner and the outer piece down the center, you direct the seem allowance towards the machine, do you go directly on top of what you just stitched, or ever so slightly to the right? I spent way too many hours on this mask fighting it but wanted to get it right because I like the design. I stumbled upon your brilliant and simple tips with my template and I’m obsessed. I feel like I won the TH-cam game of “find the right tutorial”. Yours was spot on. Sewing on a small round curve is possible! Thank you! I think using my server, and pushing the seems to the side instead of splitting them was key in saving time.

can i make a question please? I just got my coverstitch and on the instruction video it says that when you want to remove the fabric you just pull it towards the back and cut the needle threads. my problem is that mine hardly moves. it's too stiff to move it. is it normal because it's new?
