Egyptian Yogurt Cake with Orange Syrup

This is a delicious recipe made from fresh ingredients that your family will love!

► Bundt Cake Pan: a.co/d/euaJvr4
*Ingredients*
► 2 cups flour (all-purpose or gluten-free)
► 4 eggs
► 2 tbsp grated orange peel
► ¼ oil (I recommend avocado oil)
► 1 cup yogurt
► 1 cup sugar (for the batter)
► 1 tbsp vanilla extract
► 1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
► 1 cup sugar (for the syrup)
► 8-10 orange slices
*Directions*
► To make the syrup: mix the orange juice and sugar and simmer them on the stove for 10 minutes
► Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
► Mix eggs, sugar, vanilla, orange peel in the blender for three minutes
► Mix in the yogurt and oil
► Slowly mix in the flour in three batches
► Grease your bundt cake form with oil to ensure it will be non-stick
► Add the batter to your bundt cake form and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
► Place your baked cake in a tray and with orange slices all around.
► Poke slits in the top of the cake with a knife
► Pour the syrup on top of the cake

    In Egypt they don’t add ground meat into Mahshy, and grape leaves they don’t boil, is it different recipe?

      Hi, thank you for your comment. Most Egyptians cook it without meat, but there are a lot of families who cook it with meat. I grew up to eat it with meat, and it's delicious.

    ⚪️🤍🩷🤚Hi Nancy , Thank You. Lately , I like making Ice Creme ( I havent in a while ) Vegan , VoC also quick & easy way too . However , traveling allows Me to make without the mixer or immersion blender. However , turns out exactly like Ice Creme' : ) The question is , what does Mastic tastes like ? There is a Specialty Spice shop nearby that I havent ventured to yet ?? I havent heard of before , and I really appreciate Mediterranean cuisine. It sounds Medicinal as Sasperilla , or Anise , a Liquorice flavor ? The same as the Italians Spumani ? ( I think I spelled It correctly ) I made : a Mocha Bourbon Rocky Road , a P&J , a Strawberry & Marshmallow , an Ambrosia one , & a nomock PineApple Sherbet , so far. An Inlaw from The South , U.S. used to make Ice Creme all the time. 🩷🤍

    Very nice. I like my pougouri with beef stifado and natural greek yoghurt. Best thing is the mix of flavours, textures and even temperatures (with everything hot except the yoghurt). It's what I'd cook if I was a contestant on masterchef.

      Great question. In order for everything to blend together and the liquid bachamel tp thicken up and get the golden brown color, we need to bake everything for 45 minutes.
