I am a retired firefighter/car guy that has been working on Tri Five Chevy's for over 40 years. I currently have five '55 Chevy's and a few other vehicles that I work on out of a 3 car garage. I continue to learn along the way as I work on these classic car projects and try to keep them on the road. Glad to have you along for the ride!

Okay, so do you have a video, or can you recommend one, where the glass and rubber gasket are in the car, like mine, and you want to remove them to paint?? :)
I have not seen a specific video that tackles the rear window removal on a tri five. There is, however, a specific set of instructions that is how I do them listed on Trifive.com. I did the video for this one without the glass because you could really get a good look at how the stainless was held into place with the window seal still in place. Unfortunately, the previous owner had kids who used the roof of this one as a trampoline and broke the rear glass. Listed below is the link. Good luck! www.trifive.com/threads/windshield-and-back-glass-r-r.236/
Cool car
Got to love those Tri5s😁👍🏻
That's for sure Chris! This one was pretty sweet! Have a great weekend!
Looks Really good for sure, Don't see too many that color i like it 👍✌️
Yes, this one was a unique colored blue, that's for sure! Thanks for watching Lonnie and have a great weekend!
Very cool, I wonder if it’s an older build? Seems like painted bumpers was all the big range 20 years ago. Have an awesome weekend Hubie!
Yes, very much so! They seemed big in the 90's/00's. With the cost of chrome and difficulty in finding a good chrome shop, even in those days, it is no wonder people painted their bumpers! I'm not a fan of painted bumpers but, it's better than rusty ones or no bumpers at all. Have a great weekend Raymond!
That's Badass
Ary and I saw it on Bolsa Chica and I grabbed the phone before he saw it. Have a great weekend Zero!
That’s a nice one Hubie for sure, thank you for sharing it. Have a awesome Friday 👍😎✌️
Thanks Kevin! Have a great weekend!
It is nice! I prefer all the original stainless and chrome though 😊
I meant the bumpers. I see that it does have the stainless trim. 👍
Yes, I agree! Painted bumpers have never been my cup of tea but, with the price of chrome these days, I see why it's cheaper to paint them. Have a great weekend Gorni!
I always love that two tone color scheme ! It looks classy 😃🤙🤙🤙
Yes, it sure does! Thanks for stopping by Edward and have a great week!
@@hubiesgarage Hubie if you post I’ll watch ! Aloha 😃🤙🤙🤙
@edwardvidal3268 Thank you Edward!
Nice 55👍👍
It sure was Mike! Have a great week!
Very nice!👍🏻
@IronheadGarage It sure was! You know how hard it is to get a car really straight to put the black paint on it. This one was really nice! Have a great weekend Chris!
🇺🇸👍
I hope you are doing well @Zero! Have a great weekend!
@@hubiesgarage you too Brother.. I'm back working for O'Reilly's again.. this time in Orange . Off Tustin.. so I'm doing better
@AtZero138 Good deal! Keep the faith brother!👍🇺🇸
It's a beauty for sure Jeff 👍✌️
For sure Lonnie! Have a great weekend!
Wow that’s gorgeous, really like that black and silver two tone. Have an awesome weekend Hubie!
It's really hard to paint a car black unless the bodywork is perfect. This one had really nice paint and the car was really straight! Have a great weekend Raymond!
I have my roof painted black from the belt line up on my 57 2dr sedan, still working on the lower body but had an opportunity to have the roof painted and turned out amazing considering the roof was caved in from having the hood stored on top of it. I agree, takes a lot of bodywork to get it straight for black especially but that 55 is pretty stunning for sure!
@raymondantonio4145 It sure is! Take care Raymond!
Very nice Jeff! I like the color combo. 😊
Yep! The paint was real nice on this one! Have a great weekend Gorni!
What a beautiful car Jeff thanks for sharing. Have a great Friday. 👍😎✌️
Thanks Kevin! Have a great weekend!

They're hard to beat! Have a great weekend Lonnie!
Very nice Jeff.👍🇺🇸👍
It sure is Ed! Have a great weekend!
Nice little grocery getter, very nicely done and don’t see them around much anymore, they were pretty much worked hard in their lives. Thanks for sharing that Hubie!
They definitely did a nice job on this one Raymond! It's amazing it survived all these years as a lot of these were real workhorses! Have a great weekend!
Yes you as well Jeff!
@raymondantonio4145 👍
Looks good in red. Have a good day 😊
Thanks Gorni! Have a great weekend!
Very nice car 👍😎✌️
It sure is Kevin! Have a great weekend!
Well they all need to go to the car doctor sometimes! Cool car!
@raymondantonio4145 It was a real nice one, for sure! It definitely had an original Powerglide in it and they had it out of the car. Thanks for watching Raymond and have a great week!
You as well Hubie!
Ol school cool
It sure is Allen! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for watching!
Yup The old powerslide. When you turn a corner they would slip for a second. Easy way to tell when they was low on fluid. Strangely enough i kinda miss that whine they had while setting there idling. Later Jeff 👍
@donshotrodgarage1717 Man Don, lots of memories brought back in what you just said right there! All 100% true! I have some early video of my L-79 327 running in my Bel Air Sedan and the Powerglide whine is really noticeable! That cast iron glide weighed more than the L-79! Turning the corner and having it slip out of gear was better than using the dipstick! This '56 was #'s matching and definitely had an original PG in it. It's a really nice Nomad! Thanks for stopping by Don and have a great week!
The powerglide 😂
Yep! He had one and I bet he wishes he didn't!
Nice 😊😊
Thanks Gorni! This was another video of the same Nomad I did from about 3 months ago. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!

@cliffdweller4079 I get it. I was surprised there are 48 Buc-ee's locations!
TEXAS!
Yes, even though this one is in Tennessee, Texas gets ownership rights of having the first Buc-ee's! Thanks for watching!
So much cool stuff going on Jeff!! I always enjoy your videos and this is another great one! Did I spy an 'Albertson Olds" license plate frame? Very cool piece of history for sure! Keep up the great work and looking forward to more!!
Thanks Dave! Yep, the Albertson Olds A/Gas Dragster was a favorite because of Gene Adams and Tom McEwen. Gene was a legendary tuner and knew the Hilborns well and McEwen was my personal favorite of the Snake and Mongoose days that my dad and I followed so closely here at the So. Cal. drag strips. I actually met McEwen at Hobby City in Anaheim and Prudomme at the Firefighters Grand Prix at Willow Springs Raceway. Oldsmobile Engines were also a Howie Favorite prior to him buying the '55 Hardtop in '63. He had spray painted on his Dad's workbench "Olds Forever" as a kid. My grandfather was not too happy with Howie for that! We also have a very close family friend who grew up with my dad Howie, who was friends with Don Ratican and actually bought Don's '57 Olds that he used as a tow car for the restored Albertson Olds A/Gas Dragster. When this lic plate frame popped up on E-bay, I jumped on it! Thanks for watching Dave and I hope you had a great Summer too!
@@hubiesgarage That is so darn cool Jeff and those guys dominated for sure!! Not too many people can say they Tom McEwen as well as Don Prudomme. When I started planning out my dragster build (same chassis as the Albertson Olds) I stumbled upon this video. Maybe you've seen it but if not it's worth a watch I think. So much cool in your shop Jeff and thank you again for sharing. th-cam.com/video/V0Sksm0eIhM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-BONxfJEr7vE9N7A
