Multan is one of the biggest cities of Pakistan both in terms of population as well as area so it makes sense to have more than one interchange at motorway which runs east of the city. Going up from Shujaabad you have three interchanges available for Multan i.e. "Shershah" interchange (for Multan Cantt) followed by "Shams Tabraiz" (10km ahead of sherhshah, lands you at main N5) and then "Shah rukn-e-alam" (20km from shershah and drops you at Vihari road in Multan).
