Hi j audi, we travelled in March. Compared to early in the season, there's no doubt less snow on some of the peaks, but we found the contrast heightened the beauty in places. It's still very much a land of snow and ice in March though, with amazing bergs and glaciers. Paradise Bay (which has a spectacular glacier at its head) was starting to slush up again when we visited. The only place with little snow was the volcanic, black sand Deception Island, but it has black ice glaciers and a drama all its own. From a photography perspective, one consideration is that by March most penguins have gone back out to sea, leaving just the late moulting chicks, and the snow in and around the penguin rookeries has a season's worth of penguin wear and tear. I think no matter when you visit in the travel season though, you'll find the landscapes incredibly photogenic. We admit we thought it might be a bit naff, but we loved it so much we went back three times and then had to force ourselves not to do best of five, lol. Might have gone on all day!
