I Wish I Made This Panel Glue Up Workbench Years Ago
Your a hoot!Reminds me of my start. In a duplex basement. Jig saw and barrowed ban saw.Loved the box story! Inspired Ohio czr.
Thanks so much!!! Appreciate it!
Ahahaha! Great video! Got to go find Marilyn now! 😊
Just put a big fan on low blowing out done
Very nice work by your mom.
Washing up liquid on your glasses if you're in the USA that will be dish sope
Great video. Mothers are incredible creatures and it is surprising what they know/knew before there was TH-cam. The quality of the video is incredible and Siri did a great narration. Thanks for sharing!
I agree. They’re the best!
Not entirely sure why you had to wake up at 4.30 to make a bench in an hour? Nice bench but wouldn’t sell for more than £40 in the uk!
I have work all day and like to spend time with the family after I get home. Only free time I really get. Not to mention, I get really excited and can’t wait to get out there. Hahaha
I need to get me one of those journals!
She sold on Etsy for years and then they changed the way they did things and she was unhappy so she deleted her store. Sorry
I’d order a journal if the leather were human leather 😜
You’re in luck! 😂
Brilliant narration, hats off the script writer🤣. Get your mum a coffee, or beer, on me. Have a great Christmas and all the best for 2025
Merry Christmas and thanks so much! 🎅🏻
@ talented and creative family, love it.
I didn’t expect that at all dude. Crying laughing 😂
Wow Nick a trillion view, and mango hands in the same video 😂
🤪
This is cool!
This was so good. Ragging on eachother with my mom has been one of my favorite things about getting old. Those journals are amazing, and this apparently is the darktimeline/bizzaro world or you guys would have those trillion views
Hilarious. What flavor of truck did you buy and which make and model of beer? And also a very cool journal, nice and butch so even a real man like me would use it
Hahahahaha! Ok. I’ll take the truck from back to the future. I always thought it was a ford ranger but it turns out it’s a 1985 Toyota sr5. Or a Chevy c10 but a Chevy g10 van is what I really want. Total creeper. Hahaha! And I’ll just stick my classic yeungling
@DieTrying13 we are kindred spirits sir, the Back to the Future truck has been a dream of mine since I first saw the movie. Hope Santa brings me some yeungling
Yes! It’s amazing
Haha that was great!
Lol this was great. Thanks Nick
Thanks!
Beautiful free tool story, I hope you create some things to give him time to time, those are expensive
I will be for sure!
Very great personality, very hull-some! Keep up the great work!, simple and effective I love it!
Thanks!
Have a beer on me, Nick, but share those peanut butter cups eh?
Deal! Hahahahaha!
"...with skin like dried mango..." Why would you post this right before Xmas? Are you hoping to get coal in your stocking?
Hahahaha!!! My 5 year old son said it to her a few days ago and it made me laugh out loud. Also, if I don’t make fun of my family, who will? 🤪
Great video Nick
😂 love this. Hello Marilyn 🧡✌️
Nice!!!
Great job sir love your videos and your content it just goes to show you can take nothing and make something keep up the good work abc again Great job
Thanks so much!!!
Love your videos man. I became a maker the moment I got my independence and started living on my own. Mostly out of a combination of being cheap, and wanting things that just didn't exist. Started with pallet board coffee tables, to most recently me selling my motorcycle to buy a bunch more tools so I can try turning my hobby into a nice little side hustle.
That’s awesome! Pallet coffee table was one of my early builds too. Thanks dude! Keep making!
I have the same Friday the 13th poster!
She’s a beaut
A single garage is still very large??
🤷♂️
@DieTrying13 sorry didn't mean to offend
No worries. Feels small to me and I see so many TH-camrs with huge shops.
@@DieTrying13 yeah I think a garage is a pretty perfect sized workshop for one person (not that I would necessarily complain about a bigger one)
Nice 👍
Thanks!!!
Wish they still put quill locks on drill presses.
Ace freehand drawing dude! I latched onto the same freaks on TH-cam and fell in love aswell. Keep on making brother 🤙
Thanks dude!
I believe I have been inspired to do a shop tour video now. It would be my first upload in months, maybe it will spark my want to create content again. Thanks Nick!
Awesome! I’m excited to check it out
Literally the best shop tour I've seen.
Thanks dude!!!
Season of the Witch poster...sweet!!
One of my favorites. So ridiculous it’s amazing
@@DieTrying13 ...much agreed...very silly..but such a fun one.
Nice Tour. I am happy for you, that you got so many things for free or for little money 😊
Thanks!!!
wow, another punk woodworker!! or woodworking punk? anyways, glad I discovered your channel and hi from austria!
Hell yeah!
We are very similar when it comes to organization. I have some drawers too that just have stuff in it... And I constantly have to check it to see if I have the stuff I need for the project that I'm working on. Before I go by it again 😅
Somehow I end up buying it again usually. Hahaha!
Just found this channel. Love the inspirational content! Cool dude
That’s awesome!!! Thanks so much!
In germany its forbidden to have a workshop in the garage 😅
Is that true?!? That’s wild
What state are in???
New York
I’m here to help you get that living space. Hammer-on!
Yes!!! I’m starting work on it January! Can’t wait to get out there! Thanks!
My shop is twice the size, but 3/4 of it is full of crap so i cant use the space. I use my RAS more than i use my table saw
Someday I’ll have a bigger shop and when I do, I’m sure it’ll feel just as small cause I’ll fill it with more shit. Hahaha!
Love your vids. Long time follower (thank yer sister fer that and tell her Troy says, "Hi."). Thanks for getting me back into my shop and for making me pick up "junk" on the side of the road again and for reminding me that great stuff can come from a small space. Oh... and BTW... I'd like to hate you for the free mid-century tools that are gorgeous and never break! However, I'm just happy someone is using them. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.
That’s awesome!!! Junk collector for life!
2500 would be collecting dust on that website bro...
I love a small workshop tour. It’s ace to see how u make use of the space dude. Shame the vids had to go 🤙
They’re in a safe space now and starting next week, I’m working on the barn attic. Gonna be the new hang spot!!! Stoked
love the shop tours!!
The place is looking good Nick. Nice collection of tools n stuff, especially when they're free. Someone's already said it, but you must be living good, and karma is paying you back. I'm glad you moved the VHS tapes after that off cut took out Eastwood 😂. I've got a single car garage too as a workshop, but it's a shithole at the mo. Need to get sorted again during the time off now. The chaos just puts me off going out there.
Mine is almost always a shithole! Hahaha! And I love that you remember the Eastwood video. 🤣
Watching this video reminded me that I have one of your shirts. I’m wearing it tomorrow
Nice! Thank!!!
Here are some game-changer storage solutions that really worked for me (Warning: Very cat-centric bc my neighbor is the self-described crazy cat lady on the block, and she donated a lot of these containers over the years): -Cat litter buckets: These replaced all sorts of cardboard boxes that really couldn't handle the weight anyway and fell apart when the humidity got to them. I put entire categories of tools in them (e.g., the one for drill stuff = attachments, weird bits like wire wheels, long stuff like spade bits) or use them for hauling tools and materials. They come with a handle and are nearly waterproof. I usually get rid of the lid, but I should have kept some bc they stack nicely if you leave it on. In addition to tools, I keep my Xmas light strands organized in them, short or thin wood scraps, leftover concrete, craft supplies, etc. I think there's at least one bucket in every room in this house, plus the closets, the shed, everywhere. -Cat treat containers: Look up "Friskies party mix" to see what I mean. They also sell nuts in these, but the lids aren't as secure. We use them for everything around the house too: Fill them with snacks for the kids, keep toys in them, store small parts while something is disassembled (bc you can screw the lid back on and not lose them), but also for larger (e.g., deck) screws and other hardware if you have too much for those tiny parts drawers. They come in at least a couple sizes. -Medicine bottles: These come in plenty different sizes, especially if you have aging parents. Great for sorting screws or just carrying a few of whatever you need at a job site without bringing a box of 500. -Plastic 3-drawer desk organizers: Actually we have several varieties of these (e.g., 1 big drawer and 2 small, 3 big ones, etc.), but most seem to be 3 thin drawers. They aren't very strong, but they're great for having a bin for all Phillips screwdrivers, all the cutters, all the rolls of tape, and so on. The kids know my system, so I can request a tool and they'll come back with it. I seem to find these being thrown out all the time (I guess bc no one does paperwork anymore?), and now I have more than enough to get an arrangement I like. -The space between the studs: If you have exposed beams, then you can put add shelves between. In my case, I'm just using them for scrap wood that is right about 3.5" or thinner. Don't do flat, level shelves though. I used 2x3s and rotated them back about 15 degrees. That makes the scraps tilt against the wall rather than falling forward if there's so much as a cool breeze. I have a pocket hole jig, so it was simple to drive them in wherever. I set them at a variety of heights from one another so that I had some shelves with only 8" of space near the top and some with 36" or more near the bottom. If you write the max measure on the wall next to each, it makes it easy to grab the length you need every time without digging through a bin of unsorted scraps. -The space between the joists: Similar story, but horizontal. I ran 1x2 boards under the joists every couple feet. That created a series of bays across the ceiling for pieces that were, say, 48" and therefore too short to bother putting in the lumber rack. Great also for leftover PVC pipe, thin stakes, and other materials that are just annoying when stacked in the corner. Tip: Label containers with masking tape so you can tear it off if you change your mind or have to invent a new category. It's not that everything is always neat and clean once you do this; it's just bundled with related stuff to keep the chaos to a minimum. I mean, the back door to my shop is blocked too, but in my case it's plywood I'm trying to find a home for bc it's too wide for a shelf on the lumber rack but too long to just put against the other plywood (which I just organized!).
Great tips!
Thank you for the tour! My son and I work in a single car carport and have to take the tools, and anything we don’t want stolen, inside when we’re done. This upsets my daughter to no end. It’s like my demon, late mother is possessing her. 🤷♀️ I’m glad you’re a mailman. We love our mailman 👍🤘
That sounds tough but it’s awesome that you make the effort and pull the tools out
