Grafted Fruit Tree Update at The Earl House- Apple, Peach, Pear - 1st & 2nd year plantings
Missouri Zone6b. 1st and 2nd season grafted fruit tree update. Apples, Peaches and Pear. The newly planted Bartlett Pear tree looks the best. The apple and peach trees have been chewed up by Japanese beetles and I can't decide how to deal with this... You will also see Cleo and Felix at the end being funny as usual. This was an ash tree that we cut down. It died last summer from the emerald ash borer. So we cut her down and turned her into firewood to heat our home this winter.
So beautiful and such a variety of colors! How do they taste?
It is a type of flint corn, so it's not really good for eating it like normal corn, it's not sweet. I use this corn for autumn decorations and then I dekernel the cobs and use the kernels to pop popcorn. It's my favorite corn to grow, it's so pretty ❤. Thank you for always watching and commenting. What fancy traits do they have? Looks like dumbo ears? I had fancy rats as pets in college!
The pet store said they were fancy rats, so I assumed so. I googled the difference and it said that dumbo rats were fancy rats, just a newer version due to selective breeding. It seems the main difference is the placement of the ears. I dont feel like their ears sit right on top or right on the side either 🤔. What were the names of your college pet rats?!!
@@robynearl They were named Enkidu and Gilgamesh. They had dumbo ear and blue fur. Wonderful pets.

@Mikalyaran I make a plethora of things! My favorite simple thing to make is refrigerator pickles, pickled peppers, pickled anything really. I also can up all my garden produce to eat all winter. Do you garden or grow anything fun? Thank you for watching and commenting. You make me feel good 🥰
@robynearl I don't have much space or time for it, unfortunately. Ive made a few attempts that didnt go well. My Grandma kept a grand garden, though, so your channel is very soothing for me. So much so that I can't leave them uncomment. Your content deserves much more love and attention imo.

What will you make with them?
I will slice them into sticks, bread them and fry them up! I sprinkle real parmeasn on them when they are hot and eat with marinara. Eggplant fingers is what my family calls them.

Baby limequat at the end of short. It's so tiny! These taste like a sugared lemon. Mellow with a bit of tart.
Sorry that their fan is loud in the background. Its so hot here, I run it 24/7 for them.

My hubby favorite
I've bought some in full bloom, but most of their buds dropped off before they opened, so congrats! I guess they're sensitive to things like being transported, to & from the nursery, the pH & temp of the water, the light, maybe drafts, or lack of air movement. The leaves looked great for a while, and I did get to enjoy the opened blossoms. I love their fragrance!
The buds on mine turned black and fell off when I planted it, so they must be sensitive. It has bounced back though! Thank you for watching and commenting. Happy Thursday from Missouri ♥️

Consider a dog to protect your hens. Foxes are not dumb. Where there is one there is another.

Red fox is in the dog family and grey fox are in the cat family a fox will travel a very long way
It’s not the foxes fault, you need a stronger enclosure. There will always be a fox trying to kill your chickens but good planning and protection will ensure the chickens are safe. It’s a very good life lesson

Glad you are catching and release. May I suggest redoing the hen coop sturdier so the next fox can't kill
Just feed it, adopt it. Relocation is dumb. Where there's one there's 30. It's just doing what they do... the fox & the hen house thing! They make great pets.
They will travel 10 miles a night the red look like it's been eating well 😮
What about the fix babies you are killing by preventing the fox from returning home. The most humane way is to secure Thelma
