I thought the last cattle train that went to quilpie was in 2012 and 2013
what road is that where you parked?
The Transit Centre complex has been demolished in 2020
My Mate Paul Ryan was Driving 1079 on the way out. When you left ipswich after 79 slipped and blasted the station full of smoke, it set the fire alarms going and the fire brigade was called. (NO PARTY WITHOUT FIREWORKS LOL) Miss Paul, was a very good steam engineman. Des Pasagne and I were on the standby assist Diesel that day.
Great capture this one Sammy. Not likely to ever see this happen again. Probably the most footage I've seen of "Budgie's Blue Baby" I think from memory I only got to Drive 1620 3 or 4 times. Loved the Pommy's with their air throttle and Whistley turbo.
The trip 1620 failed with a collapsed fuel filter and we got dragged into toowoomba from Holmes with Multi from Toowoomba. I still reckon 1079 could've pulled the train into Toowoomba on her own if they left 1620 at Holmes to be picked up later, instead of delaying the train.
I wonder! What DP system did they install in the locos?
Bill Hughes not a true DP system, but modified “remote shunting” boxes similar to that used in shunting yard with the driver on the ground.... The radio signal is weak hence why the “remote loco” is so close to the leads.... It was just a show off excercise by Aurizon with no advantages as the train was a PIA to unload/provision as it needed spliting at Fish due to blocking yard access for other trains and a rxing....and QR Network were weary of it due to track faults or more importantly if it was to have issues in the suburban area and block commuter trains...and then rxings blockked and crossing other trains due to its length... It drove and loaded fine but the this first incarnation the remote would give a little love tap, on a normal DP system you could tune it out by setting the remote with less notches/power...but this cheap ass version meant whatever notches you had on the lead was the same on the remote....you could shut off the remote to idle but then you had this 97t loco in the middle of a 62t wagons, which i feared could cause a pull a part... It was as fake as Aurizons management....
@@H3avyHaul3r locos are 110t each
Lachlan Campbell... not these 2300D locos they were only 97t....the 2250 class used in the blackwater/moura system were 110t
What were they doing to the m series cars in downs steam?
It for the museum these cars used to belong to the sunlander train but since the sunlander train is out of service they kept them for a bit till they were put in the railway museum like at down steam and at other museums
Looks like a model railway
That car following it must have gone through a bunch of red signals.
El Emeno Pea its included as part of the train on a safe working form....
they got rid of that blue shuntter :(
Fabulous video Sam. I was hoping to video a train like this while In Gatton a few days ago.
Hi Sam! I just shared this video on the IG account 'tupas_official'. We are trying out TuPa's app for connecting exclusively via Places. It would be truly awesome if u could share this video so others can easily find it... KUSPosted! Cheers! (u can find it on Google Play..) (Y)
Mid Train Remote was 2332D
question: is it going slow because of the curves the line takes, the incline, speed limit, or just that type of train?
ParAdoX__ Memecostore a mixture of all
ok thanks man
All of but mainly curve.
Love the video and those stocky little 60 tonners. Great pacing segment on the highway and wonderful colours at sunset.
4:57 look at those little champions go! Same age as me........wish I could be rebuilt!!!!
Wouldn't you think the graffiti dickheads could at least paint over the old QR emblem? At least try and be useful????
