Besitze den Simplifier mk1 (classic) und würde ihn echt gerne mögen, aber über Kopfhörer schaff ichs nicht, einen vernünftigen brauchbaren Sound aus der Kiste rauszukriegen. Wie ist dein Monitoring? Über ein Interface und von dort in die Inears? Und macht das soundtechnisch einen Unterschied? VG

Hi Markus, you play wonderfully. I have a question. I'm a beginner, but fascinated by this song, and would love to learn it. I have Squire tele baritone with fairly thick strings... but somehow can't het the tuning right. Currently I'm on the drop A tuning, but obviously this one does not really work with the capo on fret 3. Tried tuning it up, but strings are to thick :)... can you help me out with the tuning suggestion to get the fret 3 capo? Thanks so much.

A superb guitar, but the rotary pickup selector is bound to fail sooner rather than later. Not a sensible design choice. I own two guitars with rotary pickup selectors, and both come loose too easily without warning, straining and eventually breaking pickup wires at solder joints. One of them, a Tele style guitar has the rotary mounted on the plastic scratchplate. It's a pain dismantling, but at least it provides access for repairs to the rotary knob, The other is this D'Angelico 59. Can you image how near impossible it will be if the wire connects to the rotary knob need emergency resoldering !!!??? If I had to rely on this guitar for live gigs, I'd pay a tech to replace the rotary with a standard 3 way pickup selector switch,

Good deep dive video. When it's clean, there's not that much difference between the amp models. With Quilter direct amp this is also the case. The Simplifier can go really clean it seems. It responds well. A nice sound and much tweaking of the sound is possible. Very interesting. And very well shown.

Thanks for doing this! Funny story is that I wasn't originally supposed to play the guitar for the interview. Seal's guitarist, Zach Wish, was going to do it however we couldn't make it work for the timing of the interview so SEAL asked if I would do it instead so we didn't have to postpone the interview. I was asked to prep for Kiss From A Rose only, and by the time I found out, it was a few days before the interview so I was scrambling to learn the arrangements he'd done up to this time and actually learned the song with a capo on the second fret like all his other guitar players had done who accompanied him in this duo performance set up. However, when we got to the studio, they had one capo, and Seal had the only acoustic, so we had to roll with me on that 1966 Stratocaster (which was amazing) - I'd just not prepped for a non-capoed electric guitar. We did one run through and then did the recorded take and that's what you see here. It went well enough that then Seal asked me to play Crazy and Still Love Remains without any prep other than just a practice run and then the take you see in the video. Needless to say, most of this was a blur for me, but at least I can enjoy the video now after the fact and I'm not as embarrassed as I thought I'd be about how I played. I think the mains things I did differently that what you normally see from his accompanists (that I haven't see in other versions), was the Jerry Cantrell-style voicing of the F# where I lifted the high E, B, and G to more of that acoustic, open-string voicing on "Ba-By" and the Hendrix-style double stops before going into the chorus. I also tried to use lots of open strings on that interlude arpeggio thing just to give some descending movement that could lead us into that last chorus.
