@@nextgenerationrider I have one more concern, I tried connecting to the wi-fi video on the Alien Rider and when I select the mentioned wi-fi, for some unknown reason, I get an error message as "Connected without internet"... I have all the settings to have the mobile internet shared, however, when I connect to the Alien Rider, mobile data is not getting utilised... Not sure what seems to be the problem...

@@subbuthedon1 yes you will get that warning on your mobile device, that’s normal. You are making a WiFI connection for video transfer only. The WiFI connection is only between the mobile device and the M2 Pro, not to internet. If you do a firmware upgrade, it will be downloaded via your cellular data connection and then transferred to the SDCard via the WiFi connection. WiFi connection will never provide internet on M2 Pro, only for CarPlay / AA and video transfer/ firmware update. Hope this helps.

@@subbuthedon1 you are able to view and download video via the Moto DVR app correct? Also note the WiFi networks are different between CP/AA and WiFi video. Make sure you are connecting to the right network. It will tell you on the screen.

Does the host of the M2 Pro also has vibration dampers on the back like on the Chigee?

@@fabianlee4694 I didn't copy out the video but it is definitely 1080p at least 25fps. Viewing video on the device itself is very clear. The file extension of the videos are .ts

@@kooshking I think it's cos of the small screen. Can confirm the video looks great on device but when extracted through es file explorer, it's like 200mb for a 5min video. Very compressed

@@fabianlee4694 I finally managed to download the TS file. The video is compressed. But I didn't find it blocky. But the native resolution of the downloaded file is 720p.

No built in GPS, this system uses your mobile device’s GPS via AA/CP, so no speed overlay data on Dashcam video.

It’s a known issue with Android that when the mobile device loses mobile data connectivity that it impacts the WiFi connection and interrupts AA. Try running Android Auto with cellular data turned off and see if connection issues disappear. Not ideal as a solution, but at least you can possibly identify root cause. Good luck.

Yes, you connect your mobile device to the M2 Pro via CarPlay or Android Auto. You can then connect your helmet intercom to the mobile device and then utilize all available apps (music/navigation/communication) via CP/AA. The SD Card is used for dashcam recording only. Watching TH-cam videos or any other video is not recommended or possible via CP/AA. This device is designed for use while operating a motorcycle. CP/AA inhibit apps that distract a rider's attention from motorcycle operation.

The M2 Pro indeed features loop recording and recording auto start when unit is powered on. The remote buttons provide photo capture feature and manual loop recording lock feature so video does not get overwritten. There is also autolock of loop recordings if the g sensor senses impact.

@@Stan-rf2bn I installed OsmAnd and downloaded maps. Performance was slow, with navigation routes taking several seconds to load. Would be annoying on the road. Also ran Geekbench 6 benchmark and the scores were at the bottom of scale, 144/461. Btw, manufacturer refuses to acknowledge orientation problem, says it's an app issue. Medeke / Navifly is a hard no for me now. Better full Android devices will come.

You can start and stop video loop recording through touch screen interface, but not with the remote buttons. However, you can lock recordings with remote button to save the current video and prevent loop recording from overwriting it. Hope this answers your question Ralf.

@@RH-Bike-n-Travel correct, it will save the current loop video file and lock it. It will likely be shorter than a full duration clip. As it is mid-loop. You can also go into playback and lock previous recordings should you need to. Let’s say you have an event where you need to lock multiple loops. lock action, either button press or gsensor will lock the current loop wherever it is in the loop time recording, (this is configurable 1, 3, 5 minutes loop length). To lock loops just prior to that one you can easily go into playback menu and lock those via the software menu. The retrieve easily to mobile device via mobile app. Hope this makes sense.

By the way where's this special cross bar you need for the gs And XR to mount to the original GPS loop on the BMW? the handlebar mount with adapter will look ridiculous on A GS

My point is it’s a different product with a different feature set, not a “Chigee copy”. Some consumers will prefer Chigee, some other products. I am happy that consumers have choice. It creates a competitive market that drives innovation and safety. Also, for a point factual clarification, Chigee DOES NOT feature LiDAR technology, AlienRider is the only riding system that currently does, but I hope you continue to enjoy your Chigee.

There is no native OBD2 integration, this device provides mirroring, So it comes down to the apps capability with Carplay and/or Android Auto. DMD2 for example, does not support Android Auto, so no functionality with M2 Pro. When M8 , a full 5g Android device, is released you may be able to get app integration with Bluetooth OBD2 data, if that’s an option for you.

Thanks for watching. This was a demonstration setup in my office with studio lighting for what I hoped was decent visibility that stilled showed light operation. The studio lighting affected the color and red LEDs were particularly difficult to see. I also have this installed on my F800GS. I assure you in normal conditions, color warmth and button indication is not an issue.

Hi Stan, short answer, no. But a couple of options you can consider- RAM makes the A series arms and mounts, 9/16" ball size. I measured the Alienrider ball and it appears VERY close to this, but I do not have calipers available right now to measure accurately. You might get an A series arm and test. If you want the 1" ram ball, you could either- digitally print a replacement bracket with a 1" ball or modify your existing bracket to mount the RAM-B-238U ball & flange. Confirming whether or not the 9/16" A size mounts do indeed work or will be sufficient and surely by now you have access to any (even a $5) set of calipers to measure accurately to follow-up on your comment. This is a very new product and saying amber may not be technically correct. This is likely a selective yellow, which is regarded as better for visibility to other drivers. Lots of arguments on which color is "better", and it likely depends on what you are looking for in a light. Here in SEA, auxiliary lighting is considered just as important for visibility to others as lighting for illumination. This is often taken to ridiculous extremes. I'm often blinded by BMWs with two sets of Golden Runways blasted at max in the middle of a sunny day. In this context, adaptive switching from low-beam selective yellow to high-beam white with white angled spots makes sense to me. YMMV.

The cameras perform very well in low light conditions. The Sony IMX307 cameras uses Starvis technology in its CMOS image sensor. Thanks for watching, I just visited the factory in Shenzhen and learned a lot about this unit. They have very clever engineering that accomplishes both water resistance AND very effective heat dissipation. I will be doing a video on it soon. The host display is ported on the back and then o-ring sealed to the rear mount to allow water-tight pressure equalization. This, along with the heat dissipation design, assures that you have operating temps only slightly above ambient and never experience pressure deltas that can cause separation of water-tight seals. The host display is IP67-rated and I witnessed 100% assembly line testing for water tightness. It's this water-tight equalization port that prevents you from being able to pressure wash the host display. But for rain and other typical non-pressurized water exposure, it's rock solid. I'd be happy to warranty the unit against this concern as long as unit was not subjected to pressurized water. Hit me at contact@nextgenrider.com if you want to discuss more.

@@LeGriffon1453 Do you mean you have no 12v battery? It will likely work if it drives your other device, it is a low power consumption device, only 550ma. But you will not have the standby features (recording on g-sensor impact).

@@LeGriffon1453 ah ok, electric motorcycle. You will need to add an inverter for +12v supply if not already installed.

Alert/warning bars appear on the sides of display (yellow alert, red warning) for BSD/LCA and on the bottom for rear collision. These appear regardless of what screen you are on, CarPlay or otherwise. Additionally, you can configure auto-switching to the rear camera for auto digital rearview mirror on these alerts/warnings. These can be autolocked in storage as well. Haven't had time to do a video on these, but coming. Yes, you can set low pressure / overpressure alerts for TPMS sensors. These alerts (when triggered) are in a popup that appears on any screen including Carplay/AA. Tire pressure/temp values are displayed on the M2 Pro home screen, albeit a small font, will address this when I'm in China next week.

I worry about the 2gb of ram also but that is really only for the OS of the host unit. Waze will be powered by your mobile device. I went ahead and bought one and am anxious to get it installed. Build quality feel high.

@@radumvaduva my unit has been performing extremely well. Really haven’t got a good rain test yet as rain season is only just starting. But will soon. CarPlay is silky smooth, I don’t use Android Auto.

Hard for me to compare as I never had Chigee. On paper, its very comparable. It does have radar for BSM/LCA where Chigee uses a vision system. Its a quality unit. It is far better than the TTXCAM I had on the bike before, which is a budget unit. I will do ride testing soon and add more videos. When my friend stops by who has Chigee we will do a comparison video.
