Still absolutely mad that Phoenix, DiCaprio and Bale are all the same age, and would have all competed for roles as child actors. Their whole lives are bizarrely intertwined and they would have been bouncing roles around between one another through declines and schedualing conflicts for decades. More moving still is the legacy that DiCaprio picked up in roles intended for River Phoenix, as even though he was part of the cohort before these guys (Pitt, Slater, Depp, Reeves) he was much younger than his own peers and only 4 years older than the cohort Joaquin is part of. Would have loved to see the brothers on screen together as adults.
