===================
My name is Patrik Bischof (nickname "Pätty") an i'm born in 1986 in germany.
I played and teached guitar a long time until i changed over to the Saxophone which nowadays is my main instrument. I'm not a professional Saxplayer and all i do on this channel is just to show people what helped me to master this Saxophone learning journey and give some inspiration to go out and make some nice music.
I began to play on livegigs 3 years after i started my Saxophone lessons.

      It depends on the situation. If I play with my Funk/ Rock Coverband, i need the Tenorsound and there I love it. In all other situations (solo or together with acousticguitar), I prefer the Altosax. What do you prefer?

    I'm biased because I also play the Jumbo Java, but I like your sound better on the Jumbo. But if the mindi is more comfortable, I think that is also important since they are pretty similar in sound.

      @Paetty_music หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your comment. I like both of them and pricewise the Jumbo is a nice alternative. If you’re able to, test the Mindi, it’s really nice. Even the altissimo is very easy on it.

    Also excessive saliva build up on the inside of the reed face can cause squeaking. Simply remove the reed, wipe it down and try again. Also diaphragm and embouchure control will prevent squeaking. Thats something that just takes time. Sometimes you have to be careful how you lay (attack) into a note. Sight reading can contribute to the problem. Sometime it is possible to spend more time concentrating on the reading than what you are doing with the instrument. All this stuff just takes time to figure out so don't give up..

    • @MartinBlackman-ct7vs
      @MartinBlackman-ct7vs 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Absolutely. Embouchure, and the way you support the reed with your bottom lip, and yes sight reading. Exactly what you said. When you know a piece by memory, you can concentrate on the sound.

  • @olafstenzel2684
    @olafstenzel2684 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You said too hard reeds tend to squeak, but for me it is the opposite. When reeds are too soft, I get a lot of squeaks especially when the reeds are getting softened by playing them „too long“. When I change to new reeds of the same strength, the squeaking stops.

    • @Paetty_music
      @Paetty_music หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're absolutely right, but what i mean is: People/ Beginners (me included) tend to bite, to get a tone out of the horn if the reed is too strong for their "weak" mouthmuscles.

    • @olafstenzel2684
      @olafstenzel2684 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ oh yes, if you use too hard reeds you need more air pressure. It happens to me too, that I loose my power and tend to bite.

    In my saxophone, the lower octave key was not correctly centered over the opening. This sometimes caused a squeak and sometimes a kind of "rumble" (Quin Marry in the harbor) but not as usual with beginners on the low notes (B, B flat) but on the middle notes between G and D.

    • @Paetty_music

      That’s obviously right :) but often locations want a „real“ Musician in addition to a DJ to heat up the audience. It makes a big difference if there is a guy behind a MacBook who press the play button - or if there is an entertaining musician. (With this I don’t want to talk the art of djing down!) So it makes sense for a DJ to have these tracks without a Saxophone. Normally the musician bring along these backingtracks. But you have to talk with the DJ if it fits in his set.
