    Love your videos. Im a slav wizard. I even can spek with Parom and Stribog. Olso just want to say that Slavicism is basecally eouropean Hinduism. Were most legends were known onli oraly. Il give you one feom my father. One day Belobog finnaly defeated and killed Chrnobog. However this caused caos and great unbalence of the universe. So when Rod discoverd this, he became very upset. To the point that he fixed it by destroing the whole universe with all heavens and hells and recreated it. This story shows the importance of balance between positive and negative forces.

    Side note… so when our grandmas were sitting around like ‘I’m gonna mary Paul, and you’re gonna marry Ringo!” Then when you were sitting around like ‘oh I’m gonna marry Justin Timberlake and you’re gonna marry Joey Fatone!’ That’s just ancient divination made modern?

    “Mr. Christian, how do you worship?” Well, every Sunday our god manifests in our bread and we eat a Jew. Drink his blood too. “Dang. That’s hardcore. But A jew? Aren’t you European?” Yeah, long story. But we’re both gonna spend a lot of time dealing with that question in the future. Anyway we took a lot of our native European symbolism and sorta decorated our stuff with it. Makes it more natural. Then every few weeks we feast. How bout you Mr. Heathen? “We light stuff on fire. A lot. And feast. Basically all your symbolism just comes From the time your ancestors were part of us.” Oh… neat. Really doesn’t sound all that different. I hear once a year we both cover ourselves in ashes. “Yep. Yep. Then we both go fishing.” Anything else that unites us? “Yeah we’re gonna spend vast stretches of time for pretty much the rest of eternity keeping Arabs from invading our lands. Oh and we’re gonna kyll each other for a long time too.” Fkn sweet…. I haven’t slayed an enemy and drank from his skull all day. “Maybe we’re not so different after all Mr. Christian. En guarde! Then we feast! :eternal blaze of battle glory begins:

    I actually find this kind of videos extremely helpful. I'm from Poland, i've been in most countries in Europe and often i've found people tend to think Slavs are different from them. But if you take a closer look and see how our cultures share the same root, like how Thor, the thunder god is similar to our Perun, it creates an understanding on a deep level

    The shared origin of all the ancestral European pagan religions is also noteworthy and interesting in my opinion. Perun, the weather/thunder god is presumed to have originally been called Perkʷunos (in the Proto-Indo-European language) by the Steppe ancestors of modern Europeans. He was worshipped in the Baltic religion as Perkunas, in the Vedic religion in India as Parjana, and in Norse mythology came to be referred to by the nickname "the Thunderer", aka "Thor". He was not originally the chief god of the pantheon, that was the paternal sky god Dyeus (which most notably became Zeus and Jovis>Jupiter in Greek and Roman mythology respectively), but the Slavic religion seems to have undergone a doctrinal upheaval at one point in which the original chief deities came to be rejected (which is why the original word for "god" came to be the word for demon in Slavic languages) and their positions taken over by other figures, thus Dyeus's leading role taken on by Perun. Unlike clearly-written religions like Christianity and Islam, pagan religions tend to continually change over time, particularly deities' names changing as a result of nicknames and epithets replacing the original name and new gods entering the pantheon from foreign influence or changes in society, so it can be hard to clearly see the shared origin of some of these mythological systems but they are definitely there. For example, while the original mother-earth goddess Dʰegʰom was no longer worshipped by that name in the later Slavic religion (although her role seems to have mostly been replicated by Mokosh), her name continued to be used as the word for Earth evolving into the word "zemlja", still meaning Earth in modern Slavic languages. Or the dawn goddess H₂ewsos, whose name was used to mean "morning" and still is, now the word "jutro" in Slavic languages.

    In Poland we have Marzanna. There is a ritual where we “drown” a symbolic figurehead during the beginning of spring to bring winter to an end. I’m thinking Morena is definitely the precursor to Marzanna!

    Turns out that 'M'gosh!' and 'Well...' are legit invocations we do in English and don't even know it. Welles Anglicizes to Wallace. Perun is close to the name of Peron, the Argentine dictator.

    Hejkal - usually malicious forest spirit, known for loud voice (hejkat, hulákat ~ to yell, cry), killing and terrorizing villages/settlements when they were causing troubles to forest. Meluzína - wind spirit, we call so also the sound that is made by wind in the chimney. and my beloved bludný kořen "wander root" - makes bad people to lost in woods, for good people it can be save when they are lost.

    This is my subjective view, I hope it's not offensive. Usually mythologies have less goddesses because people is more conciouss that all the goddesses are the same one. It's like with saints. Just one virgin mary has so many ways to look to diferent people that it would be unfair to assume that male saints are more popular because in the list of most celebrated saints, most of them are men.

    I would not throw around the words “evil” and “good” regarding all these pagan Slavic creatures, because they personify natural or higher forces that have their own morality. I never thought of rusalka as evil, because they are sad, suicidal women, betrayed by men and taking revenge on men.

    I was surprised that you did not reveal the essence of Baba Yaga. I studied her at the university during a folklore lecture course. Baba Yaga is neither alive nor dead, neither bad nor evil. She is a guide to the world of the dead, she literally has one foot there - that’s why one of her legs is “bone”. Her hut on chicken legs is literally what a Slavic burial looked like.

  • @Elegantnost
    @Elegantnost 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Interestingly, in not a single fairy tale did Baba Yaga eat children or adults, she only frightened them with this, the “victims” defeated her and ran away. It is believed that these tales described an initiation rite.

    Depending on the country, the north, east or south of Slavic Europe have different names for the busts, including tossame, but also additional ones. Search for the Slavic Vedas and about cosmology, about nature according to. Slavs and it is very old. There is little knowledge left, but something remains. And it is a very old theory, and there is a theory that it had an influence on the Hindu Vedas, because the scope of Slavic influence was up to modern India, and the strange fact is that the highest caste of priests in India differs from the rest of the inhabitants of India in that their skin is lighter and they have more European facial features. Much respect for your interest in the Slavs, because Europe actually knows nothing about us.

  • @jerzy7118
    @jerzy7118 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In Poland, near the city of Wrocław, there is a sacred mountain of the Slavs - Ślęża, called the Slavic Olympus, to which Slavs from Germany and Russia pilgrimaged in ancient times. There are statues whose age is unknown, such as a bear, a lady with a fish and the so-called mich. A solar cult was practiced there. To this day, people climb to the peak on Midsummer's Day. There is an earth chakra there, but the most powerful chakra, one of the 7 most powerful on Earth is in Krakow at the WAWEL castle, where many tourists from all over the world come every year, but they do not realize where they are.
